We moved from So Cal to a small(er) town a little north of San Luis Obispo in California, and while there is joy in our town, I have NEVER seen more joy than you’ve got going on in yours! Wow!!! We generally don’t go out to eat in Noto. We usually go to Retrovino for a glass of wine and appetizers. The ragu’s are outstanding. Ask for Gaetano and tell him we sent you there. He will take good care of you.
We went Ritrovino and met Gaetano!! He was so happy you sent us 🙌🏻 we had a lovely grazing platter👌 I had a Hugo Spritz 🍹which was perfect!! hi. just found your channel.. im a first generation sicilian living in phoenix. we immigrated to the states in 1971, got my citizenship in 77. ya, sicily is more than a bit quirky. i have a very large pull back to the island, my pop never wants to go back. we are from a little village called, campobello di mazara. 2 hours south of palermo. if I get the chance to go back again, its been 25 years, would love to say hi.

It’s hard for me to understand what on earth all the hallaballoo is about but I’m sure being front and centre was rather exciting 😂. It’s hard to balance work , play especially when entertaining guests from home . Looking forward to the olive harvest and a finished kitchen and bath as are both of you😅. Chin up , by Christmas all will be done 🎉
Absolutely 😊 Once a year the churches here take their patron saint out for a spin. And when they exit? That is the hullabaloo. It’s a lot of fun and a great tradition. We love it 🥰
So, at that church … we’ve seen fireworks on more than a couple of occasions - right? And now - whatever this is. Do they have time for services? Between the setting up for the next pyrotechnic event and the clean-up - Jeesh! And there’s a full crowd every time. OTT!

The mayor of Palazzolo is virtually begging people to visit. There’s lots of properties for sale and people are very accepting of foreigners. The population here was once 20,000. It’s down to 8,000. I’m ok with it 😉

Yeah. You’re probably right. We have somebody coming to do the electricity, but the plumbing happened so fast I just had to do it 😊 And I suppose I’m a bit of a masochista? It’s almost done…
I know these are hard questions, but they are real life serious issues? Do you have running water? From what source , Where do you shower now? Where do you use the toilet..,,when I was in a situation like this I would just pee down the hill…Also, I heard Scility can have some 100 degree and humid weather…do you have A/C? Heat now is a serious issue…can’t sleep in it ,,, wears you out

We have 30+ episodes of evidence 😉 This is a great place to live. Beautiful beaches, great food and wine and endless things to explore.
