I did however wear a bright red dress shirt with bright red converses and let the children know than I had arrived. My prom experience really sucked. So me and my group of "friends" agreed that we would go as a group, no dates. The morning of prom at our senior banquet, I ask them to confirm that we were still going as a group. EVERYONE had a date. I felt so crushed and betrayed. I went to the prom, with them and their dates lone wolfing it. I tried to have fun but I'm a very socially awkward person so I was already not comfortable but add in the current situation I really wasn't feeling it. I wound up following various "friends" like a lost puppy until I decided I had had enough. I called my mom to come pick me up. I left the prom about 45-50 mins in. I hope one day when I'm with my future husband I can rewind and overwrite my experience in a private and intimate dance with just the two of us. At least I can say I went.

I remember for my senior prom I vaguely mentioned to my date to get any color dress she wanted except pink (cuz I'd obviously have to wear pink too, if she got that color, cuz in prom tradition your suppose to match with your date). And when I was 18 I really only wore black or white baggy hoodies with jeans and Timbaland boots, but occasionally i would switch it up a bit but it was always with a dark color. And what color does she get? She got a light pink dress and I was not happy and I gave her a bit of a hard time about it cuz I really didn't wanna wear pink. But after I saw her at her house in her pink dress I got over it cuz she looked so beautiful, and she was even more beautiful than all the other girls at prom. And we ended up having a fantastic night and my 2012 senior prom was one of the best times of my life.
