You absolutely do NOT have to take COBRA. Losing your job/health insurance would qualify you for a special enrollment period so you would be able to enroll in an ACA plan at that time. Thanks for your question!
A valid point. It's a tough choice to make. With premium tax credits, you can likely get a very inexpensive (of possibly $0) monthly premium. Many people are forced to use savings to pay for health insurance while out of work.
I lost my job due to my health issues. I was offered Cobra but I can’t afford it cause I don’t have any income to pay 775.26 a month. I lost my job on 6/13/2024. I Don’t know what to do I have no job or income. What can I do? Thank you.
Please look into a marketplace plan! With a lower income due to loss of employment you may qualify for a plan for less than $10/month. Give us a call and we can walk you through all of your options: 888-410-0344.
Thank you so much! I will take a look but if I trouble finding one that fits my budget I will definitely give you guys a call and again Thank you for your help!
Is this a card for an HSA or FSA through your employer? If so, yes, you should be able to still use the card. Just remember to use it for qualified medical expenses!
This was really helpful, thank you!
You are so welcome!
If you are downsized and lose your job do you have to take COBRA or can you just sign up for an ACA plan?

What if the adult child is over the age of 26 ie 54 would they still be able to join their parents health care plan? Or at that age too late?
It is highly unlikely an adult age 26 would be able to join their parent's plan. Thanks for your question!
Purchase insurance? How?..if you have no job
