As some who lives in a desert this track gives me nostalgia, it reminds me of when I was younger I would go out to run out in the desert during the sunset and I would always stare into the distance after taking a break looking at the sun fade into night time.

@@dogman15 Oh Dogman15 it's because the video of 64ios featured some fan made Sunset Wilds courses, while there are also official Sunset Wilds courses made by Nintendo for Mario Kart: Super Circuit and Mario Kart Tour!

I watched the video, that's how I found this comment; it was at the top. Secondly, the rest of your reply does not make sense nor does it explain why you don't want to see Sunset Wilds in Mario Kart 8 (obviously, since that game won't be getting more tracks) or Mario Kart 9 (which is a hypothetical game right now, but if it were to be made, I see no good reason why Sunset Wilds couldn't be a track in that game, properly adapted with the original track layout).
If you'd like to try replying again with a comment that makes sense, go ahead.
That's a pretty nice reimagining for Tour. Of course I'm not surprised the Shy Guys were changed to Miners lol. I like how the Swoopers at the end during the night, it's a good touch. I hope this track finds its way to a real Mario Kart game in the future.

I've always felt desired on remixing the song from GBA Sunset Wilds into Mario Kart Wii (by making the music soundfont fit a Wii game's quality), but there was never a particular fanmade remix for that course that made me confident enough to place it on my Mario Kart Wii Checklist of giving Custom Music to every Custom Retro Course in MKWii. Now Tour has officially helped my cause :)
I've always liked Panman14's remixes, over any other mario kart remixes out there.
I was listening to his sunset wilds remix on the last day of the Halloween tour to get myself pumped up for this tour!
This brings me back. My god. I forgot I played this on GBA.
I looked at the thumbnail and was like: I don't remember sunset wilds being on the DS, let alone the Wii!
The Sunset Wilds in Mario Kart Tour is only pretty faithful to the original until we get to the shy guys' tents. In Super Circuit, you're driving on more dinosaur foot prints at the same point and should meet the shy guys (which looked like native americans in the original) later in the track. Yet it is a pleasant surprise to drive below the rocky arch we saw in the background in Mario Kart Tour.
I wonder why they played the Hoenn trumpets in Mario Kart Tour tho ...

Even though I’m not the biggest super circuit fan this track is pretty cool
It kinda bugs me that the current version isn't shaped like a Piranha Plant...
yeah, they removed the double U-bend at the end to add those jumps that go through the rock arch thing.
though i do like the re-imagining of the track as a whole.
I like how the sun sets and becomes night as the race goes on, but in the fanmade Mario Kart/Crash Team Racing game (Super Nitro Racing), it is night during the whole race.
Is no one gonna talk how the lakitu in the DS version is BonziBuddy
MKT definitely has its flaws but you cannot deny its a gorgeous game. Arguably better than MK8 graphically since its more vibrant and fits the cartoon universe of Mario more. And they hit it out of the park with every retro remake, making sure they're similar to the original track while looking much better and I appreciate the music being original too, the thing I hated most about MK8's retro tracks were the remixed music

I know that I’m gonna make a lot people upset for saying this but I think the iPhone version is better, cause it has the best quality.
Not upset at all. Tour actually had the best quality in remaking the track.
I was shocked when they pulled out the Samus morph ball...and I just remembered how fun Mario kart Wii was playing with my friends and online and using the bikes and tilting then up to go the fastest....those were the days....thanks for the nostalgia trip

Probably legal problems with intelligent systems, idk, but maybe that's the reason why the soundtrack got remade too and Vanilla Lake's remained same
Both of the Bowsers Castles in tour have an accurate layout though
I think to keep it slightly original I would do that too
To keep score grinding consistent. that's why the two gba bowser castle tracks currently in the game are a grind fest of points, they have ton of ramps and boost pads.

I think that DS Mod looks really good. It probably comes down to the lack of blocks around the track, because the colorful blocks don't fit all that well with the sunset aesthetic (I liked them in Snow Land in the MK8D DLC though).

The tour remake is sooo bland. Compared to GBA remakes of Cheese Land and Ribbon Road in MK8, this is an abomination. I hope the Booster Pass remakes this course properly.
