Hello from across the pond! So funny. .. .I had a holiday luncheon for my job today and wore the Tom Ford Shade and Illuminate! It was gorgeous. On another note, my perfume of the day was Parfum de Marly Delina Exclusif and it was glorious as well! Happy Holidays.
Lovely picks and my top foundations are- 1. Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow foundation 2. Givenchy Prisme Libre skin caring glow foundation 3. Chanel no 1 foundation 4. Tom Ford Traceless soft matte foundation 5. Mizon Snail Repair intensive BB cream 6. L'Oreal True Match hyaluronic tinted serum 7. Pat Mcgrath Skin Fetish foundation 8. Nars light reflecting foundation 9. Hourglass vanish stick foundation 10. Westman Atelier vital skin foundation.
I wear foundation only a few times a year, so foundations often expire on me, I still have the Armani one for two years and I only used less than a quarter of it, but can't justify buying a new one until using this up more with how expensive it was and it is pretty nice. I like the look of the Haus labs one, hopefully the brand comes to the UK one day as that foundation sounds nice.
This was definitely the year of foundations for me I’ve used the same one foundation since at least 2018 maybe, but this year i tried 3 new ones and found 2 new holy grails ….. Hourglass ambient soft glow foundation ( new holy grail summer foundation ) Haus labs foundation ( new holy grail all year foundation other than summer )
I LOVE the Haus Labs foundation .. it is right up there with Lisa Eldridge and the Nars Light reflecting one ... I think the new foundation technology being used in recent launches is incomparable to what we put on our faces 5yrs ago - even 3yrs ago!! Loving my make-up now!!
My top is Shiseido Syncro Skin Radiant Lifting... Not only is the formula perfection, there is also the perfect light-olive-neutral shade to match me. It has my heart... 💜🌟💜🌟💜
My no1 is definitely hands down the Nars light reflecting foundation, I've had it since February, and my bottle is about done, so i bought another bottle in the black Friday sales. I also love the Hourglass Foundation. For me, it's not an everyday foundation like the Nars, but if i need more cover but still want my skin to look flawless like the Nars, then I'll pull that one out. I still love my Armani luminous silk and Lancome teint idole, and lastly, the Huda Beauty Stick Foundation is the only stick foundation I've liked.
@wendyraye i use a little bit of primer just in my T-Zone if i need it to last me all day, if I'm only wearing it for a few hours then i don't both, i sometimes mix it with the CT Hollywood flawless filter and it looks fantastic.
My perfect foundation this year is actually a mixture of 2 that came out this year. Mix Makeup Forever HD with Haus Labs in equal measure and the result is perfection. Alone, Haus Labs wears off too quickly and Makeup Forever tones down the glow, minimizes my pores and makes it last on my skin for 12 hours!
So helpful saying pros and cons on each foundation and why they make your top 5. Mine are bare minerals original, Joan Collins, nars and Laura Gellar balance and brighten, that's it really. Tbh, I need to up my foundation game in 2023.
Ok, so this is a pretty penny price but, I mix my chanel no. 1 foundation with my nars light reflecting and OMGosh. It's literal perfection for my starting to mature dry skin ❤️ the price is crazy but I save it for special going out days!
While we are on the subject of foundation, SETTING spray (charlotte tilbury, UD all nighter etc)is to blend powder and foundation together and stop separation, it isn't actually meant to stop your makeup coming off, which is why it will come off if you rub your face with a tissue. FIXING spray is the final step to stop makeup moving, rubbing off etc. The majority of sprays you get from Sephora etc are SETTING sprays. The only actual fixing sprays I know of are Kryolan Fixing spray and Ben Nye final seal (both easily available in the UK on google and under £10!!!). Fixing sprays are a must for oily gals and in the summer, less so for people with very dry skin
Hi Charlotte! I 100% agree on the Hauslabs and the Chanel - they are both on my top list. Bu I also find that the Chanel is a "just 6 hours-foundation" The Nars Light Reflecting I cant seem to get to work 100% for me, it also disappear rather quickly on me, so I am still trying out that one a bit. Other than these I am also very much in love with the new Armani Power Fabric+ (that really stays so nicely on my face for a solid 16 hours without looking bad, and I do not have many foundations that do this on my face - that is a crazy combination of dry and oily now in winter) and of course the Suqqu The Liguid, the Dior Prestige, the Guerlain Parure Gold and the Very Valentino foundation. I think these are my top 8 at the moment :-D For full coverage, party and glam I go for Meet Your Hue from Dose Of Colors, that has been in my stash for a couple of years, but still is the best full coverage foundation I own and have ever tried. I recently compared it to the Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Finish and wore them side by side on my face for a couple of full days, and they actually looked 100% the same - both upon application and also by the end of the day, so this is an extremely good dupe for CT - and also now its on sale many places for only $18!
For me, you hit the nail on the head re the Chanel foundation which I wear most days because it even makes my very textured skin look good. I may have to try the Haus Labs because it’s quickly becoming the most favorably reviewed foundation so many swear by it and I’m always looking for something new. I just returned the Cle de Peau radiant cream foundation which in my opinion is not textured skin friendly, way too thick and didn’t sit well on my skin. Thanks very much for the video it was helpful.
I've literally just ordered the Chanel with Boots points, lol. I suppose my current faves atm are the Chantecaille Future Skin, the Dior Forever, and the Rose Inc serum stuff. You probably couldn't find a more contrasting bunch, but I dunno, it's fun to play around and see how to get the best out of different types in different circumstances.
Lisa Eldridge is my top choice. After that MUFE reboot, third place CT beautiful skin applied thinly with fingers in place of a tinted moisturizer. The hourglass one unfortunately has an excessive number of more irritating silicones so it felt like my face was being stabbed with needles. I thought I would love that one but I can't wear it.
Thank you for your videos! This year, I have really enjoyed the ROSE INC Skin Tint Serum foundation. I like a natural look. It evens out my skin and has a nice texture. I also like the NARS Light Reflecting foundation mixed in with my moisturizer.
Nice list! Have you ever tried Kevyn Aucoin's Etherealist foundation? If so what do you think of it? I am surprised that I do not hear any beauty youtubers talk about his foundation and other products. I was introduced to it at Sephora a few years ago (they stopped carrying it) and was absolutely amazed by the flawless, no weight, soft almost silk-like texture...
One of my top five foundations matches your list-Nars Light Reflecting (also in Vanuatu). My other four are Suqqu Cream Foundation (040), Chanel Les Beiges (B50), Lisa Eldridge Seamless Skin (21) and Tom Ford Soft Matte (Tawny). I like the Hourglass Ambient Lighting (12) but I'm finding it to be a little too matte so I mix it with my Suqqu Cream Foundation. I love your green nail polish!
@@Lizziebooboo1123 The Tom Ford. I just keep going back to that one over and over. I will wait until the next Sephora sale before I buy it again though since it's way more expensive than the Hourglass.
Your makeup is just gorgeous and really suits you. And that lipstick color is fabulous!!!!🥰🥰 the NARS foundation is my absolute favorite! I also have the Haus Labs foundation but I just don’t find it very glowy on my skin for some reason. 🤷♀️
I haven’t tried any of these and am experiencing FOMO - haha. I have heard so many mixed reviews on NARS, like it emphasizes texture and pores, doesn’t play well with primers, etc. but Light 4 was a perfect match when they swatched it on my cheek. Technically I don’t need a new foundation and have SEVERAL to get through, and am trying to buy less, but I got a sample of Pat McGrath Sublime and although the coverage wasn’t spectacular it felt nice, but I also didn’t put it everywhere and the true test is if it feels heavy around my mouth and drags it down (like NARS Sheerglow does). I recently got the L’Oreal serum one with the dropper and I have to be really moisturized or it looks dry - it just sits better over something almost oily like The Ordinary Ferulic Acid serum (slightly oily but gives a nice glow). Do you think NARS or Hourglass would work better for mature acne prone skin that gets dehydrated and oily (so fun). Thanks!
Ditto to everything you said about the hourglass. I'm with you on all of your choices. The haus is good- but their color wheel on line is terrible. Best to go in and get matched
You look beautiful. I love the Nars but I layed it down in a drawer and it is a hot mess. Trying to save it but I'm not sure what the problem was. One of my favorites and always go to foundation as well as Armani luminous silk foundation. Have a great holiday season.
That is super frustrating about the hourglass foundation I have multiples as well but it’s so true most of my foundations. I have multiple shades in. I actually have less foundations that I just have the one.
For the most part Charlotte, you're my shade match. Even at 59 I'm still fairly oily, and yet I do actually love the Haus Foundation, and use the same shade as you. However I do have to powder; but then I do that with every foundation, so it's not a stretch for me. I gravitate towards soft mattes, or a very slight sheen at most. I wear #8 in the Hourglass, and have occasionally mixed the two. They pair very well, and are a nearly perfect neutral olive undertone for me. Keep up the great work.. ~LeaAnne~
Hi Charlotte I have that issue with hourglass ! I bought 7.5 + 5 for winter and I am not sure if my summer make will 9 or 10. I adore this makeup it is almost flawless but I agree what a nightmare with the shades. I mix 7.5 with 5. I also love the Nars and the Chanel 1 which is much easier to get the right shade but the Hourglass is lovely and satin Matt but more satin I would say it does have a muted glow and stays in place FOREVER 🙋♀️🇬🇧
Strangely, I don't find Haus Labs to be a glowy foundation on me!! Chanel No.1 is beautiful, shame it doesn't last too long. I swapped the TF Shade and Illuminate to his Traceless Matte, purely because the former was too glowy for my liking. Love ya loads 💜❄💜❄💜
I was thinking exactly the same thing!!! I don’t think it’s a flat matte but I would have says it’s the least glowy out of all the others in the top 5 (I have them all except the Hourglass one)
It’s not glowy on me either I have to wear something with a glow behind it . I love the traceless matte too it’s not super matte on me . TF shade and illuminate I got a sample and I had Estée Lauder glow one I couldn’t tell the difference especially with first 11 ingredients being the same lol and Estée owning TF.
@@mariestopa Oh, that's very interesting Marie 🤔. I have the Estee Lauder one, but I haven't used it yet (I'm terrible Marie, I have around 5 foundations that I have yet to use 🙈). I hope you're keeping well (and warm 😉) 💗💗💗💗
The Nars foundation is very pretty but my oily skin doesn’t like it at all. Which is such a shame bc it’s so beautiful. Recently I tried a foundation that I’ve heard so many raves about it for so long. I finally tried the Catrice foundation. I get the hype it is pretty.
I really wanted to try the Hourglass foundation, but oh my gosh lol the colours & the pictures of the shades on the website look like a nightmare. So I'm not surprised at all that you have 3 bottles hahaaa
Haus Labs totally executed their shade range like no one has done before…..I am a glowy/Luminess and radiant type foundation girl. I have all of the same foundations but Hourglass I could not find a shade in their range.
i've been enjoying your channel for awhile, but for the first time ( since i had a clue) i walked into a sephora... i almost died!!! if i wasn't a Christian id say i thought and died and went to Heaven!! u r not kidding about the formulas!!!
I heard haus labs transfers a lot so I am on the fence about it . Someone in youtube has been using it and said that is the problem, it is good but don't touch you face. What do you think,.?
I haven't had any issues with transfer! I wouldn't expect it to be transfer proof due to its glowier finish but its certainly not coming off everywhere! x
Lisa's foundation was 6th in my last ranking (March) and there have been a good few new entries since then! Not quite glowy enough for holy grail status in this house 😜
Loved this video dear Charlotte, and so good explained!!!!🤩🤩🤩🤩Chanel no. 1 bought, still have to find out, the shade is to deep in the meantime, i forgot about it because our dear labradoodle Sparkle died. But i want to give this a retry! Have now shade B30 which is way to deep now. Haus Labs, i really would love to try that! Clicked your link, arrived at their US website, hope the brand comes to Europe soon! I'm so happy for you that you finally have a Sephora there!!! Still waiting for one here in The Netherlands, i saw at Nadine's Channel from Nadine and Beauty, in Germany also Sephora. Maybe they find our country stupid🤣no, i don't know Charlotte, well, the country is very small, but crowded, 17 million people here in our cozy poststamp, so i hope Sephora can breathe here. Tom Ford really has to stop putting that stupid lavender oil in his complexion stuff, i would love to wear this, for so many people in top 5 foundation!!! Also hate his concealer for that reason. The Nars one is beautiful, a bit light it was, in summer i mixed it, shade Vienna, but i look like a sort of blanket again so i can retry! Hourglass, i had shade 6.5 in summer which is crazy deep for me now, but what a circus to get the right shade, i think i want to look in a live shop for the shades, but only Bijenkorf here has the brand and the centre of Rotterdam is not my hobby in December, so maybe i'll wait and mix my summer Hourglass with another one, the Nars one and i have a lovely one from Saint Laurent. My forever foundations? Well, becaue i bought the Chanel Sublimage concealer i bought that foundation too, well, Chanel finally changed their lifes upto better, they made boring and over-perfumed stuff for decades, but they really do a lot better for sensitive skin!!! And beautiful, the Sublimage, stupid packaging, but beautiful! And i will always love the Cle de Peau bottles, the natural, and the matte, as well as all Chantecaille foundations. And 1 is waiting, because so expensive, i bought the Cle de Peau The Foundation, a sort of wonderful tinted moisturizer from them, with a nice discount, but went 1 shade up to O30, because i can also use it spring/summer, as i have quite some foundations open, and otherwise it's such a waiste, so i wait. And with a good soft primer i can handle the Dior Airflash, how flawless is this...but they stopped it, it is what it is. The PMG was also flawless, but always such a bit of irritated feeling because of the alchohol in the product. This is to long, gonna make some nice warm coffee here, temp under zero Cel now! What a beautiful video, thanks so much, sending you lots of love!!!!😘😘😘😘

I’m looking for a really good foundation but I want full coverage though x
Im loving your video quality 😍 what camera and lens do you use?
Thank you! Canon 750D with the Sigma 18-35 lens
Hi Charlotte!
Do you prefer the House Labs rather than the Estee Lauder hydra rescue? Could you compare them?thank you..
Yes I do! The EL enhances texture on me X
i've been enjoying your channel for awhile, but for the first time ( since i had a clue) i walked into a sephora... i almost died!!! if i wasn't a Christian id say i thought and died and went to Heaven!! u r not kidding about the formulas!!!
Are the earrings Ana Luisa?
Looking fab, Charlotte
Yes!
Have you ever tried any of the clarins foundations? Thank you x
Not for many years, the shade range is not helpful! x
I'll get the Haus foundation when she arrives to "Sephora" UK 😉😂😂😂
🤞🤞🤞
I heard haus labs transfers a lot so I am on the fence about it . Someone in youtube has been using it and said that is the problem, it is good but don't touch you face. What do you think,.?
I wear it a lot, and I haven't found that at all. I am a terrible face toucher
I haven't had any issues with transfer! I wouldn't expect it to be transfer proof due to its glowier finish but its certainly not coming off everywhere! x
Just a question, have you ever tried some south Korean foundation?
No, unfortunately they don't make shades for me! x
@@CharlotteHoldcroft awe, yeah, that is a real issue. 😔
I was sure I'd see Lisa's foundation on this list. Shocked! 😲 😂
Lisa's foundation was 6th in my last ranking (March) and there have been a good few new entries since then! Not quite glowy enough for holy grail status in this house 😜
💜💜💖
What a beautiful video, thanks so much, sending you lots of love!!!!😘😘😘😘
your lampshade switched back... yea i have ocd🫣
Nope, just not uploading in order that I filmed 😅
