Amazing video. Hopefully with these tips provided I can turn mine around. After watching I dipped, but upon dipping my Elegance there were so many weird things growing on its skeleton that I've never seen. They were little purple mushy lumps. White squishy things these things look like they came from another planet. Anyting I saw that didn't look like skeleton or new growth was removed
Thanks ! Always felt a little leary about these corals , I like Laura & would like to buy from her though you ! Would love to hear more from her in the future !
Unless you changed your lighting I doubt it is that. They don't like a lot of flow, have you moved them or added a wavemaker that is hitting them with more flow recently? Other than that, check all of your parameters. Sometimes they will close up for no reason, and open up a few days later with little ryme or reason, not a big deal, but if they have been closed up for a week or longer, something is probably wrong. Hand feeding them little bits of krill (you may have to cut them up to get in their mouths), once or twice a week, also helps with their growth and overall health.
Elegance Corals shouldn't be in a high flow environment (as she states) they like moderate to low flow, otherwise they will tend to close up on you and possibly die long term. They also (for an LPS) like moderate lighting, nothing crazy high.
My elegance thrived for first 3 months…but now is retracted. At first I thought it was because my PO4 spiked a bit. I fixed that and all other corals doing well. Should I remove and dip in iodine or move to low lite? Any other ideas?
These joints have literally died the same way in each and every tank I've ever had. They thrive for the first two weeks, fully open and extended. Then, slowly but surely, they begin to shrivel, and shrivel, and shrivel over the course of a week or two until they are no more. It has played out exactly the same with all five times I've tried to keep an Elegance.
Mine have gone a couple of months and have done the same, i noticed my fox face rabbit fish mouth it a few times, coincidence….i dont know but keeping my eyes on him
One of the "rumours" I have heard is that elegance corals will destroy any snail population. Is there any truth to this? Obviously of interest concerning cleanup crews.
who in the heck would give this video a thumbs down? This was great information and it was delivered in a clear and easy to understand manner. Thxs
Probably those who didn't like a lot of background noise.
More Laura Simmons! Great video. We need more videos from those who's job out is to take care of these coals!
Can anyone suggest beneficial mag/cal level for an Elegance? Great video!
Thanks Mark and Laura love you both and those elegance corals are spectacular
What a great video. Would love to see more videos just like this.
I guess Im kind of randomly asking but do anybody know of a good site to watch newly released movies online?

Good info but I have a question, what was in the tank below that has venomous stickers on it?
Great information top tips
Superb information. My Elegance did great for 6 months - now dying back? I suspect lighting.

mine is in 100 par and low flow and does great
Great info!
Great video
Mine is doing well in 40ppm nitrates. 10k Kessil 40w 18 inches above coral. Water looks yellowish. I don't test phosphate.

Dude same.. good to know cuz I was gonna purchase a 2nd one. I had mine for like 3-4 weeks and now it’s dying
sooo... what was the recommended nitrates lol?
Sooo.. we're just going to ignore the venomous animal tank they are casually leaning up against?! 🤣🤣
Muito top! 😁

In my experience, I always have empty shells around the base of my elegances
Mine thrive like freaking weeds. Omg
Excellent presentation. Thank you.
