One memory I have with my mom is on this Earthquake ride where she got to act in a mall scene during the attraction. She was standing on an escalator while bricks of cement were falling on her. the female staff laughed asking her how she was still standing after several large bricks of cement landed on her head. I miss my mom so much. Totally forgot about this moment until I saw your video, so thank you for that!
When I first went to America, I remember I went on Disaster! and really vividly remember the scene of the old lady gardening and thinking it was hilarious. I'm extremely depressed they got rid of it, it was one of my favourite rides
My family rode Disaster when we went to Universal. My sister and I got our dad to be one of the people hit by rocks in the green screen. We were kinda bummed that we couldn't buy a DVD of the fake trailer afterwards because our dad never really did stuff like that.
i loved the ride back when it was earthquake and even when it was disaster. personally i preferred when it was still earthquake the big one. I loved seeing how movies were made and see the magic behind how they do those scenes, it was so cool to see when i used to ride it. Though when the ride was Disaster, I did have a really enjoyable experience, the ride had a small hiccup with its operations, the train i was in was temporarily stuck in the actual ride area so after the earthquake experience it just stayed motionless. What made it enjoyable was being able to watch the show scenes reset themselves, something I never got to see before and always thought it was really neat to see in person. I never got into F&F and after watching videos of the ride itself it just seems so souless and not very interesting being largely screens showing a cheap bad cgi mini movie. It's just kinda boring looking without the practical effects from earthquake and disaster
Lol that intro. It so true. I went on it twice just to see the queue. Then just told them I felt ill and exited before I had to ride again. I can quote the first two F&F movies line for line, man was that ride a let down.

Earthquake was THE best ride! You can’t beat the live action and real effects. As I got older and rode, it would be a good reminder of the past. It just couldn’t age to me because I loved it so much growing up.
I just got back from Universal, and the Fast and Furious Attraction was not nearly as bad as people talk about. Maybe it's because we caught it with almost no wait. It wasn't great. It was fine. It wasn't awful. That being said, I'm glad they went to practical and animatronics for the Hagrid ride. That was a real treat.
When I went through the fast and furious ride, the guy in the computer terminal gave up trying to be in character, and had his own script he improvised... Basically he said "and these people don't pay attention to me, see, there they go." and then spent the whole pre-show playing on his phone. It really makes me sad, seeing this film, that the prior times having been to universal it was either being upgraded under construction ... or demolished for the successor.
Jonathon Freeman- I had that same experience when I rode F&F, the cast members during the show scenes before you get on the ride, barely tried with their performance.
@@kaileykrantz There was one older woman who did try ... which I later realized was the same older woman I saw years prior who was stuck in the painfully awkward and unimpressive stationary triceratops encounter exhibit over in Islands of Adventure ... and she still had the same shakey insecure frustration then as she did at F&F ... honestly felt bad for her.

Fast and furious supercharged is full of people who work their ass off to give you a good experience. That's it. The ride itself...ugh. Wish I could've ridden Disaster! Thank you for all the work you put into these, it's always super interesting!
The original Earthquake ride was nothing short of brilliant, on our first visit from England in 93 we went on it and loved it. I remember riding Earthquake as a kid not long after it first opened. Growing up I wanted to be an actress so bad. Taking a vacation to the Studios and getting to see "behind the scenes" stuff for how movie effects were filmed that (Earthquake illustrated so well) was the highlight of young life. However once that big tanker slid down and the fireball erupted, total fear set in. We were so close to the tanker I still remember feeling the massive heat wave that smacked us in the face when that happened. Then when the water came flooding in I basically tried to climb on my Dad like a monkey out of fear 😂 When they yelled "Cut!" and the water drained away, tanker went back to its normal position and everything reset, then came back the overwhelming feeling of awe and excitement. So many emotions in such a few moments! I remember my Dad chuckling saying, "You better get used to all this if you want to be in movies some day!" Hands down one of the best vacations I have ever been on!🥰
I went on the Universal Studios Hollywood ride way back when. They took you past the Psycho house, the Clock tower in Back to the Future, Jaws, and this Earthquake ride. I was a teen then and to this day I still cannot go into an underground area and worry it's gonna collapse and flood with fire and explosions. I wondered what happened to the ride, thanks for the memories!
Earthquake/Disaster looks like a standalone version of special effects stage of the Tram Ride. This is a memory from the 80's so keep that in mind. The Hollywood tram tour had a number of stops in the back lot. One demonstrated special effects like green screen. At the end they'd edit into an episode of a current TV show or movie. One time my mom got pulled and she jumped like the Bionic Woman. A friend mentioned a Knight Rider version when they went. And another time it was Back to the Future 2.
The commercial was Way scarier.... Than the actual Tram experience.... I was scared i was going to get wet... More than anything.... California one at least... Never been on Florida one... Was it a full on ride? The California one was a tram drive thru experience.... Like kong and jaws in Hollywood park.
While I'm not a big fan of Universal. Those early rides all seem so unique and interesting. Knew about them since childhood even though I've never been there. Great expedition!
I was "lucky" enough to get stuck on Earthquake, not once, but twice. On 2 different visits, a good bit after the refurbishment. It was pretty neat to say the least, but the second time we were stuck for a good 40 mins so they could fix the problem.
I remember burning that John Forsythe special to DVD for my Dad and wondering why the lip sync was so badly off. Glad to see I wasn't the only one with that problem.
My parents told me that when I was an infant, we went to Universal Hollywood. They took me on the studio tour and the earthquake part terrified me. I later calmed down and they convinced me that it was just a ride. Nothing to worry about... then a few weeks later the 1989 earthquake hit the Bay Area... When they rushed upstairs to check if I was okay, they said I was excited and happy to be on the ride again. I was convinced we weren't in any sort of danger lol! Edit: This earthquake...ua-cam.com/video/P5fJdM69pbQ/v-deo.html The Florida park's San Francisco theaming is perfect btw.
I remember going to Universal Orlando as a kid in 1998, and went on a similar ride to the Big One Earthquake ride. It was en entire studio tour, starting with a bridge that fell apart beneath the tram, then the earth quake, then King Kong and then Jaws. I'm pretty certain this was all in the same ride, as my mum told me I was white as a sheet afterwards; it scared me that much! I can't seem to find many details of that specific ride these days. The ride was very fun & I rode it so many times. I always liked the original all Earthquake theme but I also didn't mind the second version when it was themed to different movies. I honestly wasn't too big on the Disaster theme & I didn't ride it much after that, after experiencing Fast & Furious Supercarged I'd rather stay with Disaster.
My little brother got cast as the jumping kid years ago. My parents and I cracked up when he gave Dwayne Johnson a thumbs up in the trailer haha. It was a fun ride.
Seriously though, action-packed car chases, and the “Family is the most important thing in the world” message go hand-in-hand like “Mission Impossible” mixed in with “Care Bears”! SO MUCH CRINGE!!!!😫😫😫
It’s really sad to see when theme parks get rid of something great and original for something bad and tacky. I enjoyed the earthquake addition to the tram ride for universal studio Hollywood when I was a kid. And I really would have wanted to ride disaster but you luckily put up this video and allowed me to do so since slow and the most terrible ride ever constructed is all that is left of disaster!
such a shame disaster closed! my family and i went in june 2015 and the "and we are...moving on" phrase has been an inside joke in our family ever since
I miss Disaster. It really was something special and it had to get replaced by one of the worst rides I have ever been on. So now when passing by the San Francisco portion of Universal, I am... MOVING ON! Also is Skull Island: Reign of Kong as bad as Fast and Furious? I never rode it but know how similar they are but Fast and Furious was so much worse in person than it was on video.
Why did they had to close Disaster? They should’ve kept it open. Starring us in the movies (well, only in this attraction) seems so cool! It’s kinda like some of the people’s dreams of becoming an actor. I was hoping to experience it one day, but me and my family never went to Universal Orlando before. And like you said in the video: September of 2015 would be their final take.😔
I went to universal studios 3 years ago a week before marching band camp and went on disaster. I was part of the cast and a grandma got zapped by lightning in the video 😂😂😂
I loved earthquake as a kid it scared me the the first time riding it. I was about 4 or 5 when I rode the ride and I balled my eyes out crying thinking I was gonna die. As a kid seeing water rushing down the stairs towards the trains and things breaking terrified me. Hence why I probably remember it still even though i was very young.
9:01 Me when my brother eats the last chip from the bag right in front of my face Edit: I never did ride the original but I do prefer disaster over furious. Furious was disappointing. I rode it at soft opening and haven’t got on since. And thanks for the heart.
I recall hearing or seeing ads back in the day for Earthquake. At the time I actually would joke, jeez, I don't need to ride that, I can go visit my family in California and wait for a real one. Now that I live in California, I suppose I'd have to say, I don't need to go back to Florida to experience that, I can do so in the comfort of my own home. Either way results in the fact that I never actually had a desire to go to Universal.
Okay, so... Was fast and the furious somewhat disappointing? Yes. But, was it truly the worst ride they've ever put in?
Also yes.

Can we get a story on Nickelodeon Studios at Universal Orlando?
Miss the original Earthquake, heck I miss the old universal studios
Thanks
Thank you!
I miss Disaster! It was really fun and the corny trailer was great. I wish I could ride it as not a child but that doesn't get to happen, does it.
I miss Disaster, I always enjoyed the pre shows... but now you get to be part of the Family! 😂
No thanks. I miss Disaster too!
And I really would have wanted to ride disaster but you luckily put up this video and allowed me to do so since slow and the most terrible ride ever constructed is all that is left of disaster!
such a shame disaster closed! my family and i went in june 2015 and the "and we are...moving on" phrase has been an inside joke in our family ever since
13:36 OK, that’s clever. The audience wouldn’t expect that photo on the bulletin board to be part of the screen effect unless they really looked.
I wouldn’t mind seeing a remake of Earthquake. After all some stories are worth retelling.
Such a fab video. It really does turn in to a disaster #family
Skull is better. It has a pretty cool animation and a better lead up to the ride. it is not amazing but way better
Mike Smith- I agree with Expedition Theme Park, Skull Island: Reign of Kong is a better alternative to Fast and the Furious: Supercharged.
I'll also add that the ride vehicle makes more sense with the Kong story, which in itself is thrilling. Universal got lazy with supercharged.
Literally anything with Walker. Is perfect
Drat, now I have to wait for the next video!
To this day I remember when my dad was the one who volunteered to do the jump off the building onto the mat
Diring disaster the ride I was the guy in the pit when I went one day! It was a fun ride and funny. Also great videos keep them up
Thank you
Why did they had to close Disaster? They should’ve kept it open. Starring us in the movies (well, only in this attraction) seems so cool! It’s kinda like some of the people’s dreams of becoming an actor. I was hoping to experience it one day, but me and my family never went to Universal Orlando before. And like you said in the video: September of 2015 would be their final take.😔
"The real disaster was yet to come" LOL
When watching this, all i could think of was ”Beverly Hills Cop 3” and it’s Wonderworld theme park, where they showed the Earthquake attraction :p :)
I went to universal studios 3 years ago a week before marching band camp and went on disaster. I was part of the cast and a grandma got zapped by lightning in the video 😂😂😂
So fun!
Expedition Theme Park you’re not going to cedar point this week are you? I’d love to say hi!
@@TheVloggerDude2018 I'm not sadly I will be in Orlando!
I find it hilarious because I actually work at fast and furious 😂😂😂
Well i am sure you do an amazing job! :D
2:33 Hey you can see the long gone Universal Studios Florida Studio Tour in the background
After watching a couple of your videos, I’m starting to think you don’t really like the new fast & furious ride. But it’s just a guess.... ;)
Make more theme park of universal studios 2020
The fast and furious ride won’t last long don’t worry it’ll be gone by 2030 max
probably replaced with another screen bus ride for all we know
@@dapperloser3025 Probably Hobs and Shaw lol
@@Sebastian__. bruh. Really? Don’t give Universal ideas wait but then again Hobbs and Shaw was funny so Universal start thinking.
9:01 Me when my brother eats the last chip from the bag right in front of my face
Edit: I never did ride the original but I do prefer disaster over furious.
