Transmission Line speaker cabinet concept. Bought a pair of them second hand, 40 years ago from a guy that was selling because he was moving from a big house to a flat/unit. These huge cabinets needed a big room to work effectively. Custom made in Melbourne Australia, from plans which I still have somewhere. These cabinets have a thin layer of fluffy acoustic material on the sides of the tunnel. I have moved to a flat/unit and they are now idle in my garage. Thank you. I have decided to take Duo1 and Duo2 to my warehouse workplace, even though, until I create it, there is no space. My cabinets are about 1 metre tall and weigh near 50Kg each and on castor wheels. The science behind speaker cabinet design is fascinating. Wish me luck in bringing them back to life.
And how did it go?
My chance now, is to clean up the house. Clear the garage and make a man cave. Jesse is moving in. My first born and I will get our stuff together.

There is no fragile thing in the back load horn, but this speaker you made is wonderful. Since the sound path is like a brass instrument, you can easily imagine the natural bass coming out.

@@johnrodriguez2922 that is a CNC router. They do mostly 2d or 2.5d work.
This box design has potential, and those drivers look fairly nice, too. The only thing stopping this from sounding absolutely amazing seems to be the amplifier, which was clipping pretty badly on some tracks: the amplifier has less wattage than the drivers! The ideal amplifier would have an equal or slightly (edit:higher) wattage rating than the speakers. A clean, loud signal is better for the drivers than a clipped signal at the same volume. A clipped signal has more sustained peaks that can easily overheat a speaker driver. Another thing that I like to do is measuring the screw holes for the drivers so they are parallel to the side of the box. The driver on the bottom of the speaker appears to be tilted almost 10 degrees. I received a speaker that was off center like that, and actually ended up taking the driver out and screwing new holes!

Станок с ЧПУ конечно же классная штука! Задумано и реализовано в МДФ здорово, а вот дальше - лажа полная! На мой взгляд, надо было или продолжить в духе HI-END или не городить такой огород с корпусом и фазоинвертором. Такой ящик под блютуз пукалку - это извращение!

Hi, where can I find the plans for THIS spaker, shown on UA-cam? In your Etsy-Shop this speaker ist not listed...and by the way...is it really a "Subwoofer" (as decribed) or isn`t it more a "Fullrange speaker with good bass"?

Это по определению стерео не может быть - уши у слушателя не вертикально расположены все таки. И даже если на бок положить будет шляпа.
Просто демонстрация работы станка с ЧПУ и полёта фантазии автора. Хотя в итоге блютус колонка с двумя широкополосниками.

hey friend i just noticed you used a stereo amp but the speakers share a single cabinet, one will be pushing air out while the other is pulling in, they are cancelling each others soundwaves out! for 2 speakers in 1 box that shares a chamber must be mono amp . could try wiring 1 speaker backward and see if it helps but mono amp better for this setup =)
No issues if the polarity of both the speakers are wired same.

tiene fallo de diseño en la canalizacion del resonador, ya que un altavoz esta mas adelantado que el otro ante la salida del mismo, lo cual provoca cancelacion en fase. estos tienen que estar paralelos a la canalizacion, y NO EN FILA.

@@BajoyGuitarra7 demasiada madera para tan poca potencia. para esos altavoces con tablero de 1cm de grosor va mas que de sobra(siempre y cuando el bafle se diseñe bien,,y no la cagada de poner el resonador en fila con los altavoces, cuando deberia haber hecho el laberinto en el lateral del bafle)

What would be a reasonable price you would be willing to pay for a set like these. Maybe with a wood finish or painted. Properly tuned and with a good amp that fits with the speakers. Ready to go?
I'm asking because i mess around with speakers as well. And building boxes for friends and stuff like that. And i would love to do these more elaborate and beautiful projects as well. Maybe make a design and then make a serie of 10 or so and then design something new. Purely as a hobby in the weekends, not as a business.
But with this amount of work and materials going into a set i wonder if there even would be a market for something like this.
Just a ballpark figure would be awesome!

Of course, a passive radiator with low-Q speakers is better. The passive emitter itself successfully operates in a fairly wide frequency band, and if it quickly dissipates the accumulated energy (and for this it must be light and have a large radiation area), then its radiation resistance increases in the entire sensitive frequency band.
The intelligibility and accuracy of the waveform is increased and the wake time is shortened.

Installing a passive radiator would have been a nice inclusion,as it would have given it that much more bass experience. Nonetheless,it was a nice build. I enjoyed it.

That’s not a subwoofer, it’s a fullrange transmissionline with a horn like exit. Two point source chassis is not the best idea, but nevertheless the enclosure is well made.

All your work is amazing but too good for Bluetooth fidelity. These should be single driver speakers driven by tube amps except for subs, class A/B

Because the speakers work as same frequency you should have them 45 or 90 degrees of angle between them, or at least put as close each other as possible..
