Great review and your artwork is wonderful 🌸 I have found that if I gesso my crack (no pun intended) I don’t get as much bleed through in the seam. You can use clear gesso too, then the white won’t be an issue.
Thank you for a thorough review of the sketchbook! I've recently bought a bunch of sketchbooks (this one, Moleskine sketchbook, Leuchtturm sketchbook, Stillman & Birn Zeta and Epsilon). I guess I'm set for the upcoming year 🤣
You got a lot of good ones! I've been meaning to try a Leuchtturm sketchbook for ages, mainly because they have one in bright yellow. But I also have about 8 on reserve at home too, so I cant justify getting it..... yet :) xx
lena interesting! Those are both things I actually prefer (I like white pages and thicker stock) so it looks like the leuchtturm would be right up my alley. But I haven’t been able to find them in stores anywhere for the last 2 years. Curious if the company abandoned their sketchbook line.
I dont mean to be so off topic but does any of you know a method to log back into an Instagram account..? I was stupid lost the login password. I love any tricks you can offer me
I have 10 year old Molskine travel sketchbook nearly finished...enjoy horizonal format as I do landscapes on camping trips..but need new sketchbook. ❤ your video and happy to see a Canadian 🍁 reviewing things we can get here!!! I live in Ontario. What province are you in? I used often small watercolour blocks when traveling so paintings could be sold later. Arches cold press and hot press blocks..old now but costly!!! Thanks for sharing your reviews. ❤
I love and admire everything that you do. your art is so inspirering to me. thank you for thoses tips, i've been looking for the perfect sketchbook recently !
Ooh thanks for this, only started using the moleskine watercolour this year and I came across that glued page and it was sitting skewed. Thanks for your tip, Ive managed to get it sitting a little flatter and straighter now!
Wow, I just discovered your channel and I have to tell you that this is amazing! I love your journals and your videos and I am so inspired by them!😍😍 I never knew in which direction I wanted to go with my journals but I think I've found the perfect style now!😘😁 Greetings from Germany!
I wanna thank you so much for this. I discovered your channel this afternoon & watched through your videos. As a pretty beginner I would so love to have a "one-for-all-book" where I can put all my experiments & attempts into. Noone around me draws or makes art neither am I able to buy sketchbooks local, means I need to buy them online without having a look into or touch onto before.. But I'm on a budget & those books are expensive. I can't afford trying out one by one & still bought a couple of "wrong ones", so I highly appreciate your tips & hints! But holy cow the price of this S&B is- phew, plus they wanna have more than 12€ for shipping, what in my pov is pretty brazen. It's a book not a bag of bricks & I'm livin' in Europe not on Mars! In another video your showed the S&B Epsilon, maybe I'll give this a try first, before I grab the Zeta. Sorry for the long comment but I'm so excited that I found you. Many many thanks again
Thank you! I think it's because you live in Europe (or at least I assume you do from the euro!). S&B is a pretty small company and they havent expanded far into europe yet, so hopefully they can grow and you'll be able to find cheaper shipping!! If I had to pay that much shipping I would also be really hesitant!! Thank you again!
From what I can see, the Moleskine should be considered a mixed media book. The paper seems to be on the same level of the Pentalic Nature Sketch. I’m thinking about getting it, but not as a watercolor album.
Another great choice is the Leuchttrum1917 sketchbook. It’s like the moleskine but ye. You. cann find It on amazon for $19.75 dollars and with tax it’ll be around 20-23 dollars just really depends on shipping and your taxes law In your state.
I've really wanted to try that one but it's near impossible to find here. I've checked all my local stationery stores and online but it's not available, sadly!
The thing about the Moleskin books that is a negative for me is the yellow paper and it's slickness. Alot of people seem to like the watercolor version though.

Great review and comparison between these two sketchbooks!

completely agree!
Could you post a link? I'm only finding the one thats portrait style rather than the one you have
I got it from a store (Staples) in Canada. I havent seen it sold anywhere else yet.
It's this one I think C:
@@alialpaca thanks!
i think the portrait style that ur talking about moleskin calls the watercolor “sketchbook” and the style she has they call the watercolor “notebook”
I really want to start an art journal what kinds of sketch books do u recommend I really like water color.
There's lots of suggestions in the video for watercolor!
Is it good in charcoal?

Could you please link it in the desc? I can't seem to find the moleskine that's non-landscape!
I can't. I bought mine in a store, not online. I havent been able to find it online so far, at least to ship to canada
try looking up the moleskin watercolor “notebook” instead of “sketchbook”, i think those are the names of the 2 versions
I checked for the Stillman and birn zeta, but they don't have the elastic?!

so cool
Thanks!
Thank you so much for this video🌸🌺🏵🌼
I love my Hahnenmühle much better than my moleskine.
