  • Talk about regretting selling a motorcycle! I traded my Monkey in on another bike and instantly regretted it.!!

What a major blessing to be able to buy the Honda Monkey back, just like that. Very cool

I am 80 as of last July and bought a Honda Monkey in June of 2023 and it is the most useful bike ever. Will never sell this bike even if I become unable to ride it in the future. Have installed a center stand , wind shield T-Rex and cold intake, just used the stock intake tube with out the box.. The milage has stayed between 114 and 140 mpg. Easy to ride and light weight. For me it has plenty of power and cruise it at 50 mph. Having fun after many liter bikes , been ridding for 65 years. This is the ticket for me now. Would like to get a low exhaust and saddle bags in the future.

How lucky for you that no one else bought it in all that time. Meant to be? I can feel your relief and satisfaction that a mistake has been corrected.

Excellent story/advice…I’ve been riding 60 yrs. Started on a Honda 90 step thru, then the following: Hodaka 100, Hodaka 125, Bultaco 250 trials, Honda 350 enduro, Beta 250 trials, Gas Gas 300 trials, Yamaha XT225 duel sport, Yamaha 1300 (big cruiser bike) and now a Honda Monkey 2024. Wish I had some of my old bikes back but it’s ok cause the Monkey (Astro), brings me as much joy as I could ask for now at my age! I just love it! I have the t-Rex crash bars with skid plate too. I b e geared down for trail riding and just mountain roads. Glad I bought it for many reasons. I can roll it right in my van, I can reach the ground easily, I can turn on a dime, and it gets crazy gas mileage! I also have a go pro and video my mountain adventures. Wish I knew how to share them with you. There good and I can enjoy my adventures over and over as I ride into the sunset!

I’ve never really considered a bike as small as the Monkey or Grom. Not sure why. Maybe I should think about it.

So, if you could have only the Monkey or the Adv 150, which would you keep?

      That’s not a fair question….lol That would be a very hard decision…

I think it is a very fair question, as some of your viewers can not even afford one motorcycle. I don't think it is a question that would necessarily be answered off the cuff either. It really is a very good question. Thank you.

I love my monkey. Got Ohlins and such on it. Only two things I don't like about it is the feel of the clutch, too on/off not enough modulation, and being in top or bottom gear and the shifter still moves up/down like there was another gear.

My very first set of wheels was in 1985. A 1975 Honda XL350. Ten year old motorcycle. got me to work and highschool my Senior year, man the memories i made with that bike where absolutely palpable and they hit me over 30 years later recovering from a coma after a bad reaction to chemo after loosing a kidney. I was on a ventilator in and out of consciousness for some time after waking up and pretty much incapacitated for a long time. Hadn't riden that motorcycle or any other since college when I sold it after getting a car. but, in my recovery being unable to move, i kept dreaming of being on that motorcycle, going to places on it that I'd never been, and this went on for a couple of years afterwards, too. so now, after about 5 years after all that, I bought a 1978 XL350, same model just different year. My wife thinks im nuts and is dead set against me getting back into this, but I absolutely had to do it. It's been rightly said the biggest regrets in life are the things we didn't do, not the things we did. I think there is truth to that.

I got a 2023 CRF300L Rally in July for the NJ Pine Barrens and for highway speeds but I've been genuinely offended when people say they can't believe I sold my Monkey after I hyped it up as the best motorcycle ever...I didn't and never will. Never even considered it. I'm glad you made this video so other people don't make the same mistake. I like the Rally a lot but the Monkey is a thing of love.

I cant help but just imagining you at 3:00 am, laying in bed, getting angry because a bunch of random people are touching your monkey in the dealership showroom lmao.
Nah but seriously, I have a red monkey and I’ll never get rid of it. Imma stick with it until either the engine blows or I go, whichever comes first.

I also did go from a Honda Monkey to a Crf300 (then to a XL 750 Transalp and this year a Triumph Tiger 1200 RP). But also thinking of getting me a Monkey again 😅

I've experienced a lot of the smaller bikes are very enjoyable to ride, my first bike I owned was a Honda 200twin star, I went back to the guy I sold it to, to buy it back and he all really sold it to his nephew 😂 , so I went later and got a sportster, it's really fun but I still miss my twin star, I'm glad you were able to get your bike back 👍 thanks for the video.

i had a brand new 2017 CRF250l, miss that too. I think about a GB350S, if Honda decides to bring it to Europe. I wanted a Monkey but i need a 2 seater. I like low powered bikes 😂
