- One Nation Leader Pauline Hanson says the NDIS scheme has “blown completely out of proportion”.
It has been revealed that two billion dollars of NDIS funds have been spent on fraudulent expenses including cars, drugs and alcohol.
“It is such a scam ... and it’s not even means tested,” Ms Hanson told Sky News host Chris Kenny.
“You’ve got multi-millionaires that are actually on this.
“They are all scared to do anything about it because they will lose the voters out there.”

@DoubtingThomas333 there should be no difficulty at all, there has to an audit of the cost of services and who the money goes to, nursing providers should be careful because it's the administration that takes most of the money, the care workers only get a third of what is allocated to care for a client, I wonder what the administration do with the money, there would be some fat cat nursing administration abusing the system.

Having spent some time with an NDIS provider , I’d have to agree . It is being scammed all over the place. Don’t get me wrong, the front line workers and their management and senior management are incredibly dedicated going above and beyond the call of duty, but is is unsustainable, and getting rorted by 3rd parties.
Frontline workers are doing it also I’ve seen it with my own eyes
@@aycasummersford3768 The sustem allows the support workers to clock overtime, but management and above are on fixed salaries, or were at leadt where I worked. With overtime of any kind, there is always the opportunity to abuse it - I saw evidence of that in the banking industry many moons ago. Management on top of their job should have an eye for thst. The ndis planners though are some big culprits be ause they can charge what they lime for the plans for the patient.

@@hellabella8295 exactly. even the mental health services with 'platform provision' through teleservice providers - where businesses are owned by people who aren't living in Australia. in fact what is happening with the NDIS is indicative of the bigger problem which is overseas unethical business owners exploiting government funding. i'm at the point if they aren't Australian citizens born in Australia then they should not be given license to own and operate a business. with the drama the government makes about getting tax from places like AMazon its like really? it can't be as big a problem as we face with the exploitation of the government funding.

People with disability have enough problems now without the nonsense associated with NDIS. Every time the government says some people might be rortjng the system it’s often the genuine ones who cop the raw end of the stick. If a future government tears up NDIS I won’t shed any tears, in fact I would be extremely happy to see the end of it the way the NDIA operates. As I said I do not want a bar of NDIS and I would be extremely happy to see it thrown in the rubbish bin!

Absolutely agree with you Pauline. I was carer for a friend who had cancer and diabeties who ended up having a leg amputated. She was supplied with an electric wheelchair from NDIS and a hospital bed and a toilet chair/bath chair. She passed away very soon after these were supplied. She had used the electric wheelchair once. I contacted NDIS to arrange for these items to be returned to them and was told these items were now part of my friends estate. These items went to her family when they could have been used for someone else, the wheelchair was a 14,000 dollar chair, the bed was 6,000 dollars and the shower chair was 600 dollars, these items could have been used for someone else who was in need of these items instead they were sold by her family and money shared amongst them. What a disgusting waste of money and equiptment that could have had a better use

And if your friend hadn’t passed away and got to use the equipment for 5 years it would be money well spent. The fact the family chose to sell for their own gain isn’t the NDIS’s fault. NDIS isn’t a 2nd hand store for used equipment. There places where the equipment could have been donated and put to good use.

I agree with you, I know a person who had a stroke, they got an electric bed, a gopher etc the NDIS participant has now recovered and can drive a car, the car is registered in their name, and drives to the city herself for various appointments. They use the gopher to drive to the local shops and back. Plays golf and lawn bowls.

My neighbour is on ndis because she became a he and had an abusive childhood. He , she gets a career to take him, her shopping and the career carries the shopping but wants to be a man. Another career takes him, her to the gym and another watches him, her water the garden and he,she volunteers without a career but can't dohis, her shopping on his, her own. His, her brother lives with him, her and he gets a careers allowance from Centrelink to look after him, her and they both drive.....really, he, she needs all these people to look after 1 person. Its a total scam.

You are correct. I have a relative who happens to be wealthy and owns property overseas as well as in Australia, but is also on the NDIS. The NDIS needs to be means tested. Only people with genuine disabilities who don't have the wherewithal should be assisted.The whole thing is a shemozzle.

I’m a tradesman and I was doing a job for the NDIS and the gave them the invoice at the end of the job. They gave the invoice back to me and said triple your invoice, it’s ok they have lots of money they said to me

Thanks, Pauline. I am a qualified Social Worker who worked in inpatient mental health when the NDIS rolled out. I quit Social Work three years after it rolled out because the level of corruption in NDIS is sickening.
Just scrap the entire department and start again.
There is a provider here who just puts in am invoice for $5000 per week for wages. No one queries this.
Such a scam.

The NDIS is pathetic, I have tried to get onto the system, but got knocked back so many times being told I’m not disabled enough, I can have surgery to fix it, even when told I cannot have surgery but they think differently to the surgeon who stated that what I had done was a one time only fix, I was told no more surgery on my back as it would leave me in a worse position than I am in now. But some pencil pusher decided my Dr is wrong and they are right, but they are not qualified Drs they have no understanding at all.
But a woman in Victoria got onto NDIS and has a male escort visit her once a week and is paid by NDIS to do so. What the hell has a male escort got to do with medical disabilities. All I wanted was someone to help me with cleaning and Gardning work not sex work.
Those who lie get all sorts of help, where those who tell the truth are left out in the cold to struggle as best they can.

It’s sad I have personal seen a carer buy tickets and fly from Adelaide to Perth all paid for by NDIS to a sold out performance plus accommodation, plus movies , parachuting, and many other events, and this is for a 23 year old individual that can drive a car has come from the UK with his mother for a better life ? , but reaping the tax payers benefits,

Tax payer funded care should only be for food, accomodation and physical care.
Agreed such as therapy and equipment primarily. Should be NDIA managed funding. Suppliers should not price gauge. It is there to help people of genuine need.
Ndis should be scraped. Poor financial mismanagement by ndia leading to them deciding to make it near impossible to access for those in real need.

I knew something was rotten in the NDIS some time back. Near my home there is a fleet of retired Maxi taxis. Someone approached me regarding buying one for a NDIS system. They had to be one with a rear wheelchair ramp. I sent them to the owners . The owner of the old cabs knew a great deal when he saw one, asking $10,000 for one. Some of these things have covered nearly 1,000,000 k's. but that wouldn't matter as the NDIS income would be very generous. 🙄🙄

I've had a permanent physical disability soon after birth (I'm 37 now) and a few years ago I tried to get on the NDIS. I've been asked over the years since the NDIS was introduced by numerous people if I was on it, but haven't been successful. The main issue I've had is there isn't enough information on the form, so how much is provided on the form for those who successfully get on NDIS and don't actually need any assistance, especially for minor conditions?

It’s the clients who are suffering because NDIS services eg allied health staff, providers, builders, coordinators etc have been ripping off the system for years. As soon as the word NDIS is mentioned, the bloodhounds double or triple their quotes, while disabled clients suffer ongoing cuts to their funding

As a result of all the scammers people like my son who Is severely physically disabled takes forever to get approval for equipment they need. What is needed is a parent body to approve all applications because we care so much they can’t pull the wool over our eyes.

I know people who talk openly about the NDIS being their wealth creation strategy for retirement. 'A rich vein' they've tapped into which is 'embarrassingly' lucrative.
Yes many people don’t get embarrassed for deceiving this scheme. Also this scheme pays for people to go on holiday , sports, movies, dining out , and provides housekeeping as well.
Those who come up with plans for the disabled are ripping the system off big time, and their pay comes out of the amount allocated to the patient which means they are often getting deprived of a better service due to the greed of the plan provider.
Each client is an endless ATM withdrawal service. Gardeners, pool cleaners, drivers, massage therapists, personal trainers, personal cooks etc etc.
@@sallycent6598 as someone in a wheelchair who can't get a ramp to my front door funded (I live in a rental and can not guarantee I won't be asked to move)I don't know how these people get these things. I'm dragging myself over concrete and up a step while others are holidaying. To replace my wheelchair has doubled since NDIA and I can't afford $15,000 for a wheelchair out of a disability pension. All I can say is it's not those who genuinely need it that are getting the money.

I am a support worker. I know a client who received a payout years ago, not sure how much, but over a million 20 years ago, (presumably to assist him in care for the rest of his life as he became paraplegic due to car accident) He owns a $3 million unit on the river and has $3.1 in investments. He receives 80 thousand in ndis funding per year.
I have grave concerns when wondering into who's accounts - that the HUGE amounts of money that keeps on flowing out to pay for [both] the NDIS funding and the overall National Indigenous funding - is the MAJORITY share of this money actually ending up being deposited.
And ..how good REALLY are the safeguarding measures that we [the people that the politicians have sworn to SERVE] deserve to have - that are designed to protect our taxes from being *MISAPPROPRIATED* by criminals?.

It should have always been NDIA managed funding and used for therapy and equipment not personal expenses such as cars holidays whatever. A lot of genuine cases have missed out because of this rorting of the scheme. Bill Shorten is doing his best to address this. Lets hope those who need it in first place dont miss out now because of budget overspending.

I looked along the front bench at Question Time in parliament and couldn’t see any person competent to take over PMs job. Where did these people come from I’ve never seen so many unlikely to do anything worthwhile for Australia and it’s people.
From Perth,it worked fine for us previously, nothing but paperwork no action,we are worse of,on this ndis,we are the ones out of pocket,as well,needs to go back,to what it was,and restart.😢
2 yrs ago a NDIS provider offered me $1000 per week to rent my brand new house out, the market rental value was $500 at the time. when I asked why pay me so much and where it would come from the response was “from NDIS money, the government will pay for your rent” I said no to their offer, they ended up renting next door, they drive around in Mercedes Benz’s updating them every year. They’ve been abusive and threatening, harassing the client going through their personal belongings, threatening them etc coming into our property & harassing and threatening our family as well, so many complaints were made against them to NDIS but they never did anything. As well as to the police and real estate agent but they never did anything either.
Never forget if you are over 65 you are not eligible, its a disgrace

Most people are in the NDIS groups are getting paid by these funds the most, while the most people and their families who needs these funds the most are getting nothing or less. It also created more problems between families. NDIS must be removed.
NDIS has paid for a trip to Europe, Bali, a pet horse, a caravan refit, son as carer to get a free holiday, however no one will listen to me whilst trying to report it.

It is a scam…most of the $$$ goes to the exorbitant charges of service providers and some support workers are charging way too much for basic service…i know self-managers who are paying their entire family members and their partners to justify their PWD ‘s spending…disgusting
Alot of these people never get out, they live in there room.its a small price to pay to give these people some dignity. Unfortunately there are scams but lets not throw the baby out with the bath water.

This isn't the participants it's the providers, every new provider i know has bought a BMW etc in their 1st year, one gave its staff holidays to QLD as xmas bonuses... i haven't had a holiday since 2008 & been a participant for 4 years, I'm worse not better. I need MEDICAL intervention that i can't get. They would rather pay an industry of people to do what i can't, I've become a cash cow & i want my life back.

People are not complaining about genuine cases. Going by the responses to this video. It sounds like those genuine cases are very far and few between.

Is it a 'holiday' or respite? Families need a break from some incredibly hard situations, supports need time off to regroup to go back in there. Some of these clients are very demanding and trying.
When clients are taken on cruises along with carers & senior staff (aka management), I'd say it's a holiday.
HOLIDAYS ARE NOT ESSENTIAL AND THATS STEALING..
Well pay for it out of your own money, like normal people do.
