Great! Kodak Gold 200 is my most shot film (mostly because of the small price) Didn't know it could perform so well in the dark. It's soft colors give the photos a very timeless look.
I think that was good choice, the Gold 200. This film and Ektar are known to have great exposure latitude. So, yes you can use for long exposure night shots with this film.
Amer, WOW!!! Your experiment with the 200 at night 📸 is just stunning. The Parliament with a passing tram is my fave. The colors are warm & vibrant. Looking forward to seeing more of your future videos. Scribed. ✌🏼& 📸
i not need to mention that our lil town of Marfa,Texas has a 'Film Shop' for buying film in Far out wes texas. only place i know of between / El Paso, and Midland/Odessa camera stores. or wallmarts?
Hello, for hand held with film that’s very hard to do at night, I’d say no lower than .30/ widest aperture you have / and highest iso film you can get, 800 +
We’ll if you look at the back it says what temperature it should be stored at. Just makes it safe to put it in the fridge or freezer if you’re not going to use it right away. Make sure you let it out for an at least an hour tho before you load it to your camera!
Thanks for the inspiration, I went out and took some night photos after watching this and had a lot of fun. Just wondering though, do you play with the exposure compensation at all or keep it at 0? I've seen other people say they always do +3 on night time film shots, but maybe it depends on how good the camera meter is.
Hey, really good shots, I just have to ask... Did you calculate de exposure time with reciprocity failure value and used bulb or did you just use de auto mode of the OM-10?
I’m brand new to film and got myself an Olympus OM10. Ive been itching to take it out at night, so my question is.. why go for f11 at night? I’m still trying to learn about aperture and I thought when it’s darker outside, you want the lens to open more
Great question, OM10 has an automatic option which will automatically set your shutter speed depending on the light meter and aperture you set. I like keeping the light meter in the middle or just sick to f8 or f11(nighttime) and the shutter speed with automatically adjust. Just play around and good luck! Follow me on Insta “amerfilm24”
Just shooting at a high aperture to allow more to be focused at night. Most of the time people get everything focused at night with film. From what I have seen online at least.
Usually overexposed is by 1 but here I just stuck with 200 iso which is the film’s iso. I went for an aperture of 11 for around 7 seconds of holding it open. But you’d prob do better with a lower aperture and around 3 seconds in this condition.
@@amerfilm5509 wow that was awesome, thanks man! currently, i use kodak gold 200 in my camera, might try it later. thanks man for the reply! appreciate it!

Clever choice on film roll and on photograph windows' churches, great colours 👍🏼
Thanks 🙏
That last shot was awesome. Guy walking by became a ghost
Yea I was excited for that one as well 😂
im interested on the settings you used with these photos. im trying to learn how to take better pictures with low light. also the exposure time.

Nice work. I have one roll of it in my fridge for about15 years now.

@@amerfilm5509 I probably will. Just picked up a battery for the light meter in my Canon AE-1.

Hi. may i know do you set the camera to aperture priority or you use the manual adapter to set the camera to shutter priority?
great video btw!
i like the tones! how did you deal with reciprocity failure though ?
Light room 😂
Good day! What shutter did you use? Sorry im a newbie
Hi, do you have any reccomendation for the apt and shutterspeed setting if I was not using tripod?
Hello, for hand held with film that’s very hard to do at night, I’d say no lower than .30/ widest aperture you have / and highest iso film you can get, 800 +
@amerfilm5509 when using wide apt like 2.8, does it affect the range of focus?
@@fadlann sure but it’ll be better than having it too under exposed, you prob won’t even notice it that much, also depends on the lenses capabilities
@amerfilm5509 alright, thanks for the tips man, appreciate it!
this video is so sick!!!! you're such a skilled photographer, I hope you keep making these style vids in the future!! :^)

This is awesome. What is the song playing at 1:30? 🌟
Did you have to adjust for reciprocity or just meter normally? Thanks!
This is when I first started I just went for holding the shutter open for 8-11 seconds luckily came out fine
Hey, really good shots, I just have to ask... Did you calculate de exposure time with reciprocity failure value and used bulb or did you just use de auto mode of the OM-10?
I went f11 for 8-10 seconds / 1.4 for 4 - 6. Then just picked which one I liked the most.

You didn’t push the film a stop or two?
Nope just testing 200

Hey im new to film photography. But isn't a higher asa like 800 better for night photography? What does a 200 asa film do better?
Yes absolutely, it was just an experiment. But as long as you have a shutter button release cable and tripod you can photograph with any film tbh
Oh wow this is amazing, how did you measure the exposure for such long shots, did you use external meter like sekonic?
I should’ve but during this sesh I was just experimenting and just held it for 11-15 sec
@@amerfilm5509 have to say that's brave approach and I am thinking to try it lol
Do you use the manual shutter or leave it in auto?
Manual shutter, Held the shutter for 8-11 sec
after taking it out from the fridge do you usually let it sit on room temperature or use it already?
I’d say an hour is a good duration, same with developing after being stored in the fridge 👍
@@amerfilm5509 noted on that😁

What lens did you use
If I remember correctly I think it was a 50mm 1.8 but I did shoot it on f8-11
