- At a recent EFC event in Kazakhstan, Russian UFC Hall of Famer Khabib Nurmagomedov spoke highly of current UFC Welterweight Shavkat Rakhmonov, referring to the Kazakhstani as a "title contender". With an impressive undefeated record of 16-0, Shavkat is on a fast track to be the first fighter from Kazakhstan to fight for a UFC title.

Khabib reconizes these things as GOATS do. Shavkat has skills and is one of my favorites. He does get hit to much, hope he seals that up a bit. Colby has nothing for Shavkat, but Burns vs Shav would be sick as fuck. Might even lead towards a ko for burns
Shavkat needs to experience that early so he can improve on it later in his career to become a complete fighter

Does the majority of people in Kazakhstan speak Kazakh or Russian? And was khabib speaking 100% russian here? Seems like the audience and shavkat understood him. Are the languages similar?

The languages are very different but both are widely spoken in Kazakhstan. According to Wikipedia - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Languages_of_Kazakhstan - 74% of people speak Kazakh and 89% speak Russian. So most people speak both. Khabib was speaking 100% Russian in the video.

Let’s get this right he is not Mongolian but of Turkic origin and Russian/Turkic mentality and Muslim. Dangerous mix for fighting and honor mentality. I’m Hungarian and we have ancient history with turkics and Kazakhs and there’s even a tribe in Kazakhstan called the madjar tribe similar to our language magyar with a letter g.
