I love the car as a owner myself, but this review is right up there with the best I’ve seen of anyone. The realness of the smile and sincerity of your thoughts is absolutely fantastic. I can definitely believe everything you say and can bet you wish that car was for yourself to keep. The 993 or all Aircooled 911 cars are just sublime cars. 👌🏿☺️
Thank you much appreciate. I have just done circa 3,000 miles on a road trip from the UK to Portugal in a Porsche 911 991 and all I could think of doing it in a 993 or an air cooled 911. Would have loved to keep this 993, a phenomenal 911 😊❤️
If money was no object the 993 would be my "go to" 911, it has a timeless shape, it has more than enough performance and it has that glorious "air cooled" sound as you notch through the gears in a well sorted manual. Stuff of legend!!
993 is the best looking Porsche ever made. It's also overengineered and built like a tank. You only have to close the door to realize that. It closes like a bank vault. Such an amazing car and newer Porsches never managed to capture its beauty (although they tried to copy the front end looks on 997 and 992).
Thanks Myles, appreciate the feedback. I agree with preferring the Tip over the PDK trans especially the fact that the Tip have this analogue characteristics which in my opinion are a lot more comfortable
Well done review its a genuine video and that personal touch This car has a time set that itll never pass its amazing thats soo much feelings can be evoked from a car.
Mine is in very good condition (1995) and I enjoy driving it. Unfortunately, no cruise control and costly repair of A/C, in addition to costly yearly maintenance, as well as planned paint job is a budget…Color is Polar Silver, very classic and nice.
Only after watching this that I came to know older 911s came with automatic transmission options. I thought 911 only started to be offered in automatic much recently. Cool!
@@invictusporsche I drive a 944 automatic. It drives good, not the best performer but fun to drive. Now I might consider checking on old 911 with automatic transmission.
Hi all! If you want to know how this car sounds during a drive, you can watch this video: ua-cam.com/video/Y4vuH6aHMlQ/v-deo.html. It would help out a beginning channel a lot!
The 993 is my favourite of all 911s when it comes to looks. For me it’s the prettiest of the 911s. Petite ang simple. Today’s 911s is overloaded with unnecessary electronics, causing the breaking down much often. They have grown much much bigger as well and I don’t understand the obsession with 0-60, launch control, etc.? There’s certainly more to driving that 0-60 or whatsoever.
993 is great, your arguments for Tiptronic not. There is no maintenance reason that makes a tip better than manual. Actually the contrary, cost of regular maintenance on Tip is already 15-20% higher than manual. Also, the Porsche gearbox has proven itself to be much more bullet-proof than the (Mercedes built) Tip. Enjoying the ride without all the manual switching … come on. With the torque and flexibility of the 993 … Sure if you drive like Max Verstappen. Not if you cruise. Let’s face it. The (Mercedes) technology of the 4-speed Tip is outdated. My BMW 6-speed automatic is soo much better. Whereas the hand and left foot that work the 6-speed manual, are still the same. Tip is a definite choice. Nothing wrong with that. But by todays standards (and cost to maintain) it is inferior to manual.
Beautiful car but the automatic Tiptronic will always make it less desirable than a manual in a 911. Any real enthusiast will bypass this car for that reason.

Yes - by the grin on his face and the enthusiasm displayed, it is apparent that Basheer has been fully assimilated. There is no cure.

The 992 nailed it and took it to a whole new level.
@@marios_gavrilis Great car. Amazing performance But it looks HUGE and ugly to me.
crazy how perception can be so different. To me, the 992 is BY FAR the most beautiful 911 ever. At least modern 911. @@detonator2112
Possibly the best looking 911
Thank you, glad you liked it
*Easily* the best looking 911
I've a 1996 993 C2 iris blue metallic, 60,000 miles. No CEL, no oil leaks. 6-speed manny tranny.
Wow you must absolutely love it 😍. I would love to personally own and daily a 993 😊
beautiful and a better review really. covered everything
Glad you liked it!
Nice review. I have a '94 993 Tip and a Macan GTS and for around town I actually prefer the tip to the PDK trans.

Thank you for the kind comment. I agree re the 993 sentiment: what do you drive?
Beautiful air cooled 993 would be amongst my go to classics. Great Review 👍🏽
Great choice 👍. Thank you ☺️
great color, fun drive!
ゆったりドライブに、癒されました♪
Thank you very much sir. I love visiting Japan
Nice review, I’m lucky enough to have had both the manual & tip & loved the tip so much, I kept it!
Cherish it and create memories in it :)
Fantastic review and safe money this car
Appreciate that :)
Honest review great car
Thanks! Glad you appreciate our transparency
Enjoyed that but makes me want one even more but can’t afford one 😖
Haha glad you enjoyed it, the prices are going in the wrong direction. Hope you get into one soon
Great review lovely car
Thank you

What a beautiful car.Great review 😊
Thank you very much Stuart. What do you drive?
@@invictusporsche ford fiesta me old mate. You never know. One day.
@@stuartbutler2986 Nothing wrong with a fiesta. Hopefully soon a 911 mate :)
It’s actually a 4 speed auto box not 5 #justsayinng
Noted. Thanks Harminder for the correction 😊
Loved the review!! Love this 993 :)
We love this 993 as well! It truly is an iconic car
Only after watching this that I came to know older 911s came with automatic transmission options. I thought 911 only started to be offered in automatic much recently. Cool!

Superbe auto la tiptronic est passionnante après une bonne prise en mains
I’m looking at buying a 993 c2 with an auto gearbox but friends around me tell me to only buy a manual. Would appreciate some guidance.
The manual is more desirable and more fun to drive. If you live in the city the auto will be easier to live with
I have a pdk car but would love to drive a tiptronic to see just how it is in comparison.
It’s a very different gearbox and you would be welcome to test drive ours next tip 993 we have in stock.
Great car. An automatic is a dealbreaker for me, but to each their own. 🤙
A lot of older people prefer the comfort of an auto
The 993 is good but the 964 is the best 😎
It's the other way around 😁
964 is a confused mess
It looks too awkward with the modern bumpers and classic body
The 993 is fluid and cohesive
The 964 more closely resembles the earlier 911s than the SC/3.2 with the afterthought bumpers.
Isn't it a 4 speed? :D
You are right. Thanks for the correction 😊
@@invictusporsche No worries :)
Great review, although I disagree with the auto. Great job!
Fair point :)

It’s amazing how many miles the 993 are able to do reliably considering they are so old in terms of tech.
How much? I’m interested
Sorry this has now sold. It was priced at £38,000
Tiptronic is 4 speed in the 993
Thank you 🙏🏽

The 993 auto is renowned for its durability and nobody would argue it's the enthusiasts choice but certainly great for just cruising
Beautiful car but the automatic Tiptronic will always make it less desirable than a manual in a 911. Any real enthusiast will bypass this car for that reason.
The manuals do command a premium, there are a lot of older people that can’t drive manual and would want an auto.
If shifting gears in manual transmission distracts you, you're definitely a "tiptronic" kind of guy indeed 🤣🤣🤣
And dude, there wasn't 997 in 1998...
