Bury a friend is about sleep paralysis it’s where your body remains in REM but your mind wakes up and can’t send signals to your body to move. @dangboof in an interview she said it was about sleep paralysis as well as her being the monster under our bed. This in the way of us loving her so much and giving her our all and in turn not taking care of ourselves. Each song on the album is a different aspect of dreams and nightmares and sleep paralysis and things like that.
im just here to fix the actual science behind this post, dont mind me: when you sleep your body releases these compounds which essentially block signals coming from your brain/brain stem outwards (so no motor functions) these are overidden sometimes so your body can toss and turn at night but it essentially prevents you from running in your sleep (if you're dreaming about running) and doing stupid stuff like that. Your brain is SUPPOSED to stop producing these as soon as you start waking up (whether it be via an alarm or something else) and they're not supposed to be very strong, just a mild dissociative effect, buuuuut in sleep paralysis your body forgets to stop making these hormones when you wake up, hence the 'trapped in your own body feel'. this can take a while to subside as your body tries to realise this mistake and rid itself of the hormones. and as to why sleep paralysis usually presents with some nightmarish shit, no one rly knows but there are hypotheses such as: 1. your brain is still struggling to differentiate reality from dream and just doesn't know what to do. all it knows is that you are panicking as ur stuck so obvs smthng is wrong. 2. your stuck and panicking in the dark, and don't understand so the brain creates its own threat due to the fact you are stressed and have lost many senses (sensory deprivation works in the same way where you deprive yourself of senses, so your brain starts stimulating them itself, creating hallucinations and stuff)
That's 100% true, and why it blew my mind. Like I said, it's impressive and I'm jealous. When I was growing up, I would literally get in trouble for saying 'I don't know why I'm sad'. Thank you so much for watching
@@thethirdbill she's had depression ever since she was 11, she's doing so much better now! She also has tourettes so it still sticks with her for the long run :( but she's all smiles now.. our baby won 5 grammys!!
I’ve known “Ocean Eyes” for years from a remix, but once I listened to “idontwannabeyouanymore” & “Bellyache” I became OBSESSED. Then her debut album.... wow. Glad you’re getting into her 👏🏽👏🏽
SHE WAS 13 WHEN SHE SING OCEAN EYES!! BRAH Facts about her: She does not like herself as you can see in the song (Idontwanttobeyouanymore) That’s why she is depressed She does write her lyrics with her big brother Finneas But she is SUPER kind! Many people copies her as you can see in the song copycat. ... Bill and Billie! Lol kind of the same name!
thethirdbill If you listen to ‘listen before i go’ you hear how she felt some years ago. She has bad depression and was dealing with suicidal thoughts. Listen before i go is about that. Thankfully she is in a better place now
"she is too young to have such deep dark thoughts" honey have you seen teenagers these days we joke about wanting to die EDIT: LMAO I JUST FOUND OUT THIS GOT 1K LIKES. THE REPLIES ARE SENDING ME CALM DOWN YALL I WAS SUICIDAL WHEN I WROTE THE COMMENT
Lol you’ve seen that video of some teacher screaming “YOU’RE ALL GONNA DIE” and every single student across the vicinity started cheering 😆 if that don’t sum up the current generation’s mindset idfk what else does
Don't forget that all adults were teens at one point. Those feelings, emotions and thoughts are a right of passage. You have to go through the dark before you can come out the other side. Most survive, some don't and a few stay in the dark either by choice or because they just can't figure out how to leave it behind.
Billie Eilish 17 teen years old tuning 18 some wear around the last few months of the year. Her first song ocean eyes (wrote by her brother) wasn't supposed to be a single it was actually meant to be used for a dance. She released it on SoundCloud so her dance teacher could access it but out of nowhere, it got a some but not a lot of popularity. So her now manager contacted her... Then she released her first ep called "dont smile at me" which is one of the reasons she got her fame. She was on the same level as people like troye sivian, Melanie Martinez and Lorde. Her ep don't slime at me had 8 tracks and if you look at the views on most of those songs (not even the music videos just the audios) they have up to 10-60 million views. Witch most UA-cam audios don't get that much views. She began getting more mainstream when her song "bury a friend" came out and her album was announced. But once her album officially came out her fame grew quickly. Her brother produces her song yes.
Some things about Billie -her and her brother create all their songs together in their bedroom -she suffers from depression which she is extremely open about and one of the reasons why I and many other people who suffer from it love about her -she has Tourette’s syndrome Oh and you should check out her music video for hostage. It’s super creative because after a while you realize that all the different colors pertain to a different emotion :)
She and her older brother write all her songs. Ocean Eyes was released when she was 13. I think he wrote that one alone. But she writes a lot of the lyrics. She plans most or all the the video imagery. She just released her first album, but she released an EP before that. She also has Tourette's Sydrome.
He wrote it for his band back then. But they tried to sing it together and then thought it didn’t fit well to the band. So Finneas asked her to sing it. And yeah then they released it on soundcloud for the dance teacher of Billie so she could listen to it. And then it just blew up. (Billie sometimes says it was for her dance teacher and in other interviews she said different stuff so yeah...)
I love how your channel is set up... The fact that you're talking to someone off screen makes it feel like a conversation that I'm a part of. Great job!
@@thethirdbill xanny is FOR SURE needing to go on that list. Wish you were gay is another good one as well. "Hostage" as well, and then check out some live videos too. Also, recommend checking out the interview on Vanity Fair where the ask her the same questions but 1 year apart, and it will shed some light on who she is a person, and it might show you some insight on why she writes the way she does.
When we all fall asleep where do we go, is an incredible album based off her nightmares and sleep paralysis aswell as mental health. Billie once said in a genius interview, shes grown up with people telling her she is too young to be depressed. We live in a generation where we face so much oppression and comparison that we feel this constant weight of helplessness yet this other weight of the responsibilities of the world left by generations before us. We were bound to be effected by mental health because daily we are shown the harsh cruel reality of the world through media and then it gets shoved down our throat by the news. She is amazing. And she had been able to display what its like for people of our age to grow up with this cruel reality we live in!
Just found your channel (on your stanning Lizzo vid) and I AM HOOKED! You're so articulate and sincere in your reactions and observations! Don't mind me while I spend the next few hours watching all of them lol
9:51 is kind of how I feel when I listen to that song. Kind of depressed, but at the same time at peace because of how sad, but beautiful it sounds. Like, I could cry listening to it, but I'll be ok.
I was in elementary school when I first thought, really thought, that I didn’t want to be alive anymore. I’m mid-30s now, have the right meds and the right therapy, and have my depression, severe social anxiety and OCD under control. I wake up in the morning now and feel generally glad to be alive, and it’s so weird because for so long I went to bed hoping that I wouldn’t wake up. My only regret is having avoided getting support for it for as long as I did. My message for young people going through this is that better is actually real. Don’t give up. It may take time, it may take trying different strategies, but better is real and however hopeless it seems, you can get there. I know you can.
I love your reactions! You're actually reacting! I hate it when people just sit there and do nothing and at the end say "wow I really liked that. See you next time." You're nice. Keep going. 😉
Thank you so much! That means so much to me! The channel and this series has really helped me validate my feelings in a weird way and reading that helped so much! You're also nice and I will definitely keep going!
i wanted to disappear off the face of this earth since i was eight, and i've developed anxiety into my teens. i have self-image and confidence problems. i wish i could be endlessly optimistic and stronger mentally and physically but i'm just trying to keep myself alive because i have so many things and people that i love and don't want to lose. really, in this day and age, what's new? i'm only 14. just growing into myself and struggling with myself made me grow up so fast. sometimes i don't want it because i think so much into so many things but i don't know how to express myself the way i want to, and close to no adult would treat me like i want to be treated, to be someone who has valid feelings and thoughts and struggles instead of being easily dismissed and treated like a child.
I wanted to die since I was 5, please just get through the next 10 seconds. Eventually with therapy and time it gets easier. I’m 25, engaged and happy. It’s not always dark and empty, there is life after depression. 💗💗💗
@@thepriceofsalt9003 I'm sorry that your feel this way. Keep trying - keep reaching out to safe adults for help. Someone will respect you and your feelings and will really hear you and will be able to help you. God created you and has a special plan for your life. I'm praying for you.

I’m doing much better now with meds and the right kind of help you can and will feel better it’s not the same for everyone

Her music can honestly bring me to tears. Even if I've had a good day, if I need a little cry I'll just lay on my bed and let her raw emotions wash over me though her music Works every time😭
omg you should totally react to sia!!! her discography is outstanding-she’s been releasing music since the 90s! a lot of her older stuff is super under appreciated but it’s amazing!
I've been a fan of Sia's lyrics and vocals well before FLOrida and Rihanna. Some deep stuff, not Billie-deep, but very similar e.g. "Breathe Me" about suicide. She would make a great subject!
I'm a new fan, I'm 44, I can't stop listening and I can't stop crying! These are such intense songs! Is it because we haven't had such fresh music from such young talent speak from such a raw place in so long?!! I was feeling that speechless feeling, too. If you listen to the dont smile at me album in order every song flows so smoothly into each other, it's incredible and so much better to listen to that way.
I love how 11 minutes in, you get to the point where you don't even know what to say, so you just blurt out "She can't even vote yet!" That got a good laugh out of me.

Your brain is SUPPOSED to stop producing these as soon as you start waking up (whether it be via an alarm or something else) and they're not supposed to be very strong, just a mild dissociative effect, buuuuut in sleep paralysis your body forgets to stop making these hormones when you wake up, hence the 'trapped in your own body feel'. this can take a while to subside as your body tries to realise this mistake and rid itself of the hormones.
and as to why sleep paralysis usually presents with some nightmarish shit, no one rly knows but there are hypotheses such as:
1. your brain is still struggling to differentiate reality from dream and just doesn't know what to do. all it knows is that you are panicking as ur stuck so obvs smthng is wrong.
2. your stuck and panicking in the dark, and don't understand so the brain creates its own threat due to the fact you are stressed and have lost many senses (sensory deprivation works in the same way where you deprive yourself of senses, so your brain starts stimulating them itself, creating hallucinations and stuff)
i’ve been through sleep paralysis just recently for the first time and omf
Breanna Rae-Lynn I’ve had it before.. it describes it pretty well
eat sleep and repeat its really scary
Every human being has emotions no matter the age. You don't have to be a certain age to feel a certain way and speak up about it.
Loved this video

Then her debut album.... wow. Glad you’re getting into her 👏🏽👏🏽
Right? She literally came out of nowhere in my life and now she's all over my playlists! haha! Thank you so much for watching!
SHE WAS 13 WHEN SHE SING OCEAN EYES!! BRAH
Facts about her:
She does not like herself as you can see in the song (Idontwanttobeyouanymore)
That’s why she is depressed
She does write her lyrics with her big brother Finneas
But she is SUPER kind!
Many people copies her as you can see in the song copycat.

Lol you’ve seen that video of some teacher screaming “YOU’RE ALL GONNA DIE” and every single student across the vicinity started cheering 😆 if that don’t sum up the current generation’s mindset idfk what else does
Right..... joke......
Don't forget that all adults were teens at one point. Those feelings, emotions and thoughts are a right of passage. You have to go through the dark before you can come out the other side. Most survive, some don't and a few stay in the dark either by choice or because they just can't figure out how to leave it behind.
Me: *reads the title* I MEAN ITS NOT HARD-
Billie Eilish 17 teen years old tuning 18 some wear around the last few months of the year. Her brother produces her song yes.
your a real avocado yay!!
@@emu1826 i guess you could say that. But I look into the lifes of all the people I listen to
@@leave.me.alone189yearsago5your still a real avocado
Don’t slime at me.
Some things about Billie
-her and her brother create all their songs together in their bedroom
-she suffers from depression which she is extremely open about and one of the reasons why I and many other people who suffer from it love about her
-she has Tourette’s syndrome
Oh and you should check out her music video for hostage. It’s super creative because after a while you realize that all the different colors pertain to a different emotion
:)
Thank you so much! Adding hostage to the list for sure!
She and her older brother write all her songs. Ocean Eyes was released when she was 13. I think he wrote that one alone. But she writes a lot of the lyrics. She plans most or all the the video imagery. She just released her first album, but she released an EP before that. She also has Tourette's Sydrome.
Ocean Eyes was actually entirely written by her brother
He wrote it for his band back then. But they tried to sing it together and then thought it didn’t fit well to the band. So Finneas asked her to sing it. And yeah then they released it on soundcloud for the dance teacher of Billie so she could listen to it. And then it just blew up. (Billie sometimes says it was for her dance teacher and in other interviews she said different stuff so yeah...)
Yeah the only things her and I have in common is being 17 and having tourettes lmao
I love how your channel is set up... The fact that you're talking to someone off screen makes it feel like a conversation that I'm a part of. Great job!
“You are going to have these existential questions and you’re never going to have answers to them” .... that hit me.
Omg first Gaga and now Billie YAAAAS
you should really listen to her E.P “Don’t smile at me” and her most recent album “When we all fall asleep, where do we go?”
Thanks for the shoutout my friend! PS. Please do more Billie. LOVE her. I'll find some more artists for you to check out too
Thanks Bri Bri!!! Hit me with some Billie on here for when I count votes/tallies for a part 2!!
Thank you so much! I hope you enjoy what you see!!
9:51 is kind of how I feel when I listen to that song. Kind of depressed, but at the same time at peace because of how sad, but beautiful it sounds. Like, I could cry listening to it, but I'll be ok.
Bellyache was my first Billie Eilish song and it's still one of my favorites.
"She can't even vote yet!"
Best description of Billie ever XD
"Its not bad, it's just a very specific emotion" is the absolute best way I've ever heard anyone describe Billie's work
I also listened to Billie for the first time today because of you and I’m literally obsessed. THANKS!
Oh wow!! That's so awesome!! Let me know if there's songs you want me to listen to!

The Iconic Icon from an Iconic Icon
“She is too young to have this dark thoughts”
*Me, a depressed 16 year old who wants to die* : Lol
Yeah. Well...
i wanted to disappear off the face of this earth since i was eight, and i've developed anxiety into my teens. i have self-image and confidence problems. i wish i could be endlessly optimistic and stronger mentally and physically but i'm just trying to keep myself alive because i have so many things and people that i love and don't want to lose. really, in this day and age, what's new?
i'm only 14.
just growing into myself and struggling with myself made me grow up so fast. sometimes i don't want it because i think so much into so many things but i don't know how to express myself the way i want to, and close to no adult would treat me like i want to be treated, to be someone who has valid feelings and thoughts and struggles instead of being easily dismissed and treated like a child.

As a 17 year old myself I also have had the same kind of feelings as her I’ve been to the psych ward several times for either suicidal thoughts or suicide attempts and seeing almost every other kids in there most of them younger than me who are there for the same reason and being friends with people with the same thoughts we are all stressed out of our minds and it’s way too much for us most of the time. I’m doing much better now with meds and the right kind of help you can and will feel better it’s not the same for everyone
..but deep dark thoughts doesnt just concern suicide, you see, it includes existential and plenty more. Shes a lot more intelligent than you. There.
perfection of course it’s not just suicide, there’s tons of other things there I was just saying the one thing that I can relate heavily to
Please listen to her new album “When we all fall asleep where do she go?” There are 14 songs and it is truly an amazing album.

me, an intellectual: she bops
i feel like both reviews are synonymous in a subtle way that is reminiscent of early vaudevillian reception, and are dope af.

She’s captivating. That’s the best way to describe her. From her lyrics to her voice to her crazy presence. She’s her own genre and the more u listen to her, the more u love it.
