I’ve had several of the Merrell Moab GTX mid boots over the years. An awesome travel & hiking shoe that’s carried me through 19 countries, through low lands and snow capped alps. I won’t buy anything else now.

I've got a pair of leather slip-on Merrell walking shoes that I've had since (I think) 2016 or '17. They are still wearing well, other than the sole, which began to separate a few years ago. I reglued it and have had no issues since then.
I can't speak for newer Merrells, but the ones I have were well worth the $100+ that I paid for them at a DFO store.

@@SnowysOutdoors I agree. I've heard of glue issues with some boot/shoe companies. A bad choice, or batch, can make or break a shoe.
I'm a repair/repurpose/reuse/recycle type of person, so as long as I have a decent adhesive, I'll continue to wear these until the things really fall apart (and my steel cap Wolverines).

My Plantar Fascitis get worst when I wear them. The sole is hard. If you would make it softer it would be awesome for us with Planta Fascitis.

My current Moab 2, are 3.5yrs old and I'm hessitant about buying this brand again.
The sole material was never "grippy", unlike a $10 pair of rubbish from kmart. But I give them 10/10 for waterproof, comfort and exterior wear.

I’m surprised…my wife and I bought moab 3 yesterday and on a steep trail were both instantly impressed by the traction descending.

@@patty109109 I did end up grabbing some Moab3, and the Grip is deeper and compound better. The shoe itself doesnt bend as easy, but I'm happy so far.

Hi, is the Merrell Speed Strike gtx ( J066978) is good to use during winter? I have wide foot and bunions. I used to walk 2.5 km from home to work and from work to home.

They're a very popular and comfortable shoe for walkers, and the gortex means theyre waterproof for winter.
If you have a wide foot, it may be worth trying the mens version for a better fit.

Вони водонепроникні, але не ізольовані. Їх можна використовувати в будь-яких умовах, але якщо ви хочете використовувати їх під снігом, лише на короткий час через відсутність ізоляції.

Sorry guys these are the worst boots on the market . No company should promote them after just 3 months the solo feel off not just my boots but 3 friends that i had recommended them too all same problem .. they cut cost and used cheap glue … after contacting there support they promise refund or replacement after a year no refund no replacement .. do your company a favor and stay away from this brand …. Nothing but headache

Merrell boots are utter garbage. I got a pair they replaced UNDER WARRANTY because the first pair had broken off half the lugs on the sole. THe replacement boots fell apart about two months after I placed them in service. I walk on GRASS. GRASS. County gravel roads. Once or twice a day. And they already fell apart. I contacted Merrell again and they refused to do anything about it.
They were Moab's. They were $130.00 for the pair. That's $130.00 down the TOILET.
I've been wearing them with the sole half fallen off cause they're useable during DRY, NON-DEWY, weather. But they have also developed a CHUNK on the outside of the inner sole, on the opposite side of my foot from the inner arch, that makes my outer foot ride up, and it really hurts.
ALSO, there's no way to waterproof them. If you walk in twenty feet of dewy grass, your feet will be wet for the rest of the day. I contacted Merrell to ask what they used or sold to waterproof them. THey DID NOT. I asked them what they'd recommend to waterproof them. THEY DID NOT. They leak like sieves. Plus with the broken lugs on the bottom, any moisture that can, will get in through the outer soles.
THey are JUNK. DO NOT BUY MERRELL BOOTS. \\
A $5 pair of Columbias I got at the thrift store lasted FIVE YEARS until I literally wore everything off the bottom sole. THey're still solid boots, and I use em for wading while trout fishing.

Sorry to hear about your experience!
All the Merrells I've personally owned have been pretty good - my Dad has a pair that are 7 years old.
It may depend on the model & batch, and individual person.
Glad to hear you've found some boots that suit you now though!
