It is 2021 and watching this now. And I remember this game giving a strong nostalgic feeling of youth and friendship. How our lives branch off after the carefree days of our summers together. The creative art style is reflective of a time stuck townworld and a modern touch. This game will bring you deeper feelings than you thought it would. Great series to watch

( SPOILER ALERT sorry for not including it !! ) ok so i just read a bunch of character backstories and im realizing they have depressing pasts that are never actually mentioned mae has depression and anger issues. she also had tendencies to isolate and starve herself after the incident(?) -angus was beaten up in his own house & starved -gregg probably has bipolar disorder -bea's mother died & she lost her virginity at a very young age
That's why I love this series so much. They're still friends, friendly, and carry on with life despite all of that. It's really a very encouraging series. A tale of survivors carrying on and sticking together, which is nice 😊.

If you want Mae's dad to move the boxes in the crawl space, just talk to him each night before you go to bed. Talk through all the dialogue until Mae mentions it. And keep looking at the book case cause it has something important. There's A LOT of hidden things throughout the game, so keep your eyes peeled for anything. But I know you mostly just stick to the story with your play throughs cause if you did all the secret things it would take too long. Just thought you should know. Also whenever you hear scribbling that's Mae drawing a doodle in her book if you want to see that too. I would say more but I don't want to spoil anything, so I hope this helps *gives a thumbs up* This game was SO worth the money! I love it so far!

Let's see. It's about 8:30. 7 episodes. About 8 hours. So I can be done by about 4:30 in the morning.... This is the second time I've watched this series.
Old video/series, I know. But, as someone who finds themselves unceremoniously back in their hometown after an extended absence, this game really gets me feeling a certain kind of way from the very beginning. The kind of sinking feeling you get when someone asks you about why you're home instead of... out being who you said you'd be. It took only 10 minutes of gameplay for me to realize what's happened. Very, very good tension and atmosphere while still being cozy and nostalgic. In love with the visuals/art style. Sometimes it takes going home to realize it'll never really be home again. Not in the way it was 😞
Anyone else re-watching this series because they feel depressed and want to try and connect to Mae?? I know it's 2018 and it's time for Positive Mental Attitude....but I'm trying to find a series were I can possibly feel connected with a character a dry to feel a bit better.
I connected to her with depression and dissociative disorder, some days everything will feel like shapes. It was so nice to have a character with those traits.
Over the years, I've gone through bouts of depression, anxiety and just existential crises, but for some reason, this game (more specifically, Jack's playthrough of this game) has helped ground me and keep me distracted from the literal dark thoughts. Today, I find myself back in that same mindset. 30 minutes into the video and that nostalgia of watching this for the first time kicked in and I'm enjoying experiencing the character's world all over again, even though I've watched the playthrough upwards of 10 times by now. Thank you for playing this wonderful game and adding to its already vibrant world by lending the characters your voice. It's no exaggeration to say that it has saved at least someone on multiple accounts.

It wasn't "Jack," it was the game, and there are many games to this day that include the LGBTQ and what-not, but in the end, it doesn't matter who the characters are, as long as the game is good? If people want to normalize gay people, then stop pointing it out.

mae has depression and anger issues. she also had tendencies to isolate and starve herself after the incident(?)

-gregg probably has bipolar disorder
-bea's mother died & she lost her virginity at a very young age

That's why I love this series so much. They're still friends, friendly, and carry on with life despite all of that. It's really a very encouraging series. A tale of survivors carrying on and sticking together, which is nice 😊.

God, I adore night in the woods. It brings me some weird nice nostalgia of fall. Back to school with all the fall leaves and the color palette of the game. Like it takes me back to my freshman year of high school (Even though it was like in 2016/2017) Like just simpler times.

ive only now just came back to this channel after years of change and development, and i just want to say that this specific series has just somehow... stuck with me. i dont know how to exactly describe it but seáns reactions and choices throughout the story and the options you could decide on really made me attached to the game as a whole. recently, i bought nitw on steam during its winter sale, and i also have access to its other sound tracks as well! i just wanted to say thank you seán for playing this game, since it made me discover something new and fun!
Was it just me or did anyone else watching this get a Fran Bow kind of vibe? The artwork reminded me of it, and the slightly dark but funny humor, too. If you want Mae's dad to move the boxes in the crawl space, just talk to him each night before you go to bed. Talk through all the dialogue until Mae mentions it. And keep looking at the book case cause it has something important. There's A LOT of hidden things throughout the game, so keep your eyes peeled for anything. But I know you mostly just stick to the story with your play throughs cause if you did all the secret things it would take too long. Just thought you should know.
Also whenever you hear scribbling that's Mae drawing a doodle in her book if you want to see that too. I would say more but I don't want to spoil anything, so I hope this helps *gives a thumbs up* This game was SO worth the money! I love it so far!

Old video/series, I know. But, as someone who finds themselves unceremoniously back in their hometown after an extended absence, this game really gets me feeling a certain kind of way from the very beginning. The kind of sinking feeling you get when someone asks you about why you're home instead of... out being who you said you'd be. It took only 10 minutes of gameplay for me to realize what's happened. Very, very good tension and atmosphere while still being cozy and nostalgic. In love with the visuals/art style. Sometimes it takes going home to realize it'll never really be home again. Not in the way it was 😞

Over the years, I've gone through bouts of depression, anxiety and just existential crises, but for some reason, this game (more specifically, Jack's playthrough of this game) has helped ground me and keep me distracted from the literal dark thoughts.
Today, I find myself back in that same mindset. 30 minutes into the video and that nostalgia of watching this for the first time kicked in and I'm enjoying experiencing the character's world all over again, even though I've watched the playthrough upwards of 10 times by now.
Thank you for playing this wonderful game and adding to its already vibrant world by lending the characters your voice. It's no exaggeration to say that it has saved at least someone on multiple accounts.
