She often looks harsh however she is fiercely protective to those she respects. Skye proved herself in Season 1 and she quickly beat Quinn after getting told Skye would not survive Quinn's gunshot. I mean this is the same person who kicked Skye out of the plane in front of the team and their superiors, though she obviously knew that's just how Skye worked best. Not to mention her LMD sacrifice in Season 4, and among other things
