This was my introduction to IR who turned into one of if not my favorite artists at the time. I don't really want to make this all about myself, but I can't understate how much this group has meant to me in my life since discovering them. I'm at a complete loss for words, I feel horrible for Groggs' family who he often wrote about, and especially his daughter who I know was the most important thing in his life. In his music, Groggs made it completely clear that he was one of the most unselfish artists I've ever heard, constantly raising up his peers and his loved ones with every chance he could. He often talked about his struggles with drugs and alcohol, but his drive for self improvement was always because he didn't want to disappoint the people around him. The portrayal of himself in his writing always came across as extremely kind hearted while also exuding his playfulness. Rest In Peace Jordan Groggs, you will never be forgotten by me or anyone else who you've spoken to. I pray for your family and friends who have lost a major light in their life.
I'm never gonna forget meeting Groggs after a show, getting an opportunity to hug and talk to him. And then being able to have an actual dm conversation with him on instagram. He was one of the most humble people I've had the pleasure to remotely know. Even that tiny little interaction left an impact on me. And to know that that person is gone breaks my heart. I hope Ritchie and Parker are doing well. I hope Groggs is flying high up there, may his family find peace. RIP Jordan Alexander Groggs
Don't worry about it dude, Their Hardwork will show with time; I mean Fantano put a lot of people on, now it's just a matter of can his review and people's curiosity bring together a Fanbase as big as DG's and other Alternative/Experimental Rap Groups.
First time I heard them was live in Chicago. I remember they came out to this song. When that beat dropped and he yelled out “OH SHIT” the entire place started going nuts.
So there I was, listening to analysis videos while working on notes for my college courses. Suddenly the narrator in my headphones is seriously recommending an album I'd never heard before, and out of curiosity, I decide to look up the album and artist. Now, here I am, positively JAMMING in the library. A Bucket of Jake was right- this song goes hard as FUCK
DihStyle69 I agree, it's crazy good. They play around with so many different sounds and they all work out great. Ritchie and Groggs both kill every verse they have and the production is awesome all the way through. What's Goodie is one of the craziest songs I've heard all year
David Rowe this tape has some of the best hooks i heard all year tbh as far as i can remember, only ult comes close to the excellence of these hooks. and yea what's goodie is craaazy good. the song right next to it has another infectious hook!
DihStyle69 Ritchie is probably the best guy for hooks in rap right now, if he's not #1 he's for sure top 3, all their hooks are amazing. But it's not like their songs rely on them either, the verses are great too, so this album is just all kinds of dope
Despite following Fantano's channel very viciously, I actually only discovered IR because I accidentally clicked on a radio on Spotify, and this song popped up on it and I thought the title was kinda funny and the album cover looked gritty af, so I listened to it and was blown away. Then I found out it was Anthony's song of 2016 and I was like OH SHIT
12 days after stranger things first came out & my boys already had the title card cheffed up. Forever forward thinking, ahead of the curve & relevant. Love u boys.
This is still one of my favorite songs of all time. And will always be I think. Rest on Power to Groggs shit will never be the same. I never got the chance to hear this pop off live with you there and I'll always regret that never happening. True talent.
Injury Reserve bout to drop a whole album call it 'OH SHIT!' full of bangers like this. And that autotune at the end oh shit it actually works well with Ritchie!
I'm so glad i found out about the mixtape last year when it dropped. You guys are amazing. everything from the production to the lyrics and in between is fantastic. cant wait for the new album/mixtape
Okay... just realized that the 'oh shits' are a loop from Fergie's London bridge, which came out in 2006. What an obscure reference, never thought I could love you guys more than I already did.
