The Hawker Food Centres were incredible to experience and some REALLY DELICIOUS FOOD at AFFORDABLE PRICES. Hopefully you can get a chance to try out some of these AMAZING Hawker Dishes as well!
Thank You for taking us along with you to Singapore! So many great dishes to try and you tried quite a few of them! I’m glad you liked what you tried! Your explanation of the different cuisine is amazing! Thanks for sharing! ❤️❤️
I almost worked at Singapore for 4 months but school was starting and my wife didn’t want to be a single mom - I don’t blame her. Heard nothing but good things about Singapore. My boss works in Singapore. The bowls are so big. The folks are treating you guys like king and queens. Chicken and Rice is something I would love. Love the way you guys edit and the pacing is perfect.
You always have the best things to say Carl, THANK YOU! Singapore is amazing, hope you can get to work and live there with the whole fam! There is so much food to try and the portions are HUGE!!
To get the clumping off the noodles, just pour in a spoon or two of soup into the noodles & mix it up... that will loosen the clump 😊 The 2nd dish is just simply chicken rice, not chicken & rice 😅 Most hawker stalls only operate in the daytime, some morning only... only some will operate til the night
We don't really dip dry noodles into the soup :D. Perhaps your noodels wasn't tossed well enough with the sauce at the beginning. I think most people who are not familiar with the taste of sambal usually made with the addition of belachan (fermented shrimp paste/dried shrimp) will associate this taste with fish sauce. Coffee with condensed milk - we called it kopi in Singapore and Malaysia. Mixture of coffee and tea is called yuan yang in chinese in Singapore, cham (means mixed) in Malaysia, yun yueng in Hong Kong (translated to cantonese). FYI there are a lot more cheaper chicken rice options with much shorter queue elsewhere (in most hawker centres) :D Popiah is read as Po-peeya. That's sweet red bean paste wrapped in chinese fried dough, outside looks like sesame seeds.
Wow thanks so much for all the information. It's so interesting to hear differences in naming across Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong for the coffee and tea mix. Loved trying it! Thanks for watching 😊🙏
Popiah should sound like "Pork"-"Piak"(the sound when you use an object with a flat surface to hit a mosquito on a flat surface). Also Rojak is quite a symbolic dish as it sort of represent the random mixture of the different races living together.
Hi Gokçe, not quite sure why you dont eat pork but if you are looking for halal meat, then there are plenty of stalls with halal certification from MUIS (the muslim authority here) so you can be sure to know when food is halal. Cos for non halal stalls, sometimes they still fry food in lard or soup stock has pork bones. I hope you get to try the local malay nasi padang here, most popular is Hajjah Maimunah. Halal stalls selling chinese food are few but if they have the MUIS cert then you can be sure that the food you eat won't have pork in it. From a muslim in sg.
Thanks so much for all the recommendations! Definitely going to keep the Halal stalls in mind. I'm from Turkey so traditionally I didn't grow up eating pork. Appreciate it 😊
Why do you advertise NEW Videos Each Week?? When NOT True. Welcome to Singapore. Some of the absolute cheapest hotels can be found in Geylang and Chinatown for those that do there homework and absolutely book in advance. Yummy pork and fish. Absolutely I would have a few Cokes to wash it down. If you would have looked, bet you would have found fried banana. Excellent all around
Aghhh answering that question pains us greatly but that was our mission originally and we did manage to post once a week before. However it's not possible anymore due to work and travel schedule. (We should probably update it). Love Singapore and its Hawker Centers with their delicious food. Can't wait to go back to Singapore! 🔥 Thanks for watching 😊
Malaysian = a citizen of MALAYS IA (country). Malay = ethnicity. A Malay hawker who was so kind to give you kopitea can be & probably is still a SINGAPOREAN. Papaya is a FRUIT, like "papaw". That's a "popiah" - a thin crepe or pancake!..Oh my, please get your terms RIGHT before posting. Or at least add captions so you don't cause confusion for others, please?

Why no dark soya sauce with the garlic chilli sauce for the chicken rice?
Ahh they didn't provide soya sauce with it. Was it supposed to go together?
@@TravelInteresanteI mean we would encourage tourist to try all the sauces but me personally as a Singaporean not a fan of the dark soya sauce haha
Hahaha well good to know! 😅

What you ate wasn't called "Bean Cake". It was Chinese dough with bean paste fillings!
Ahh we were wondering what they were exactly called. Thank youuuu 🙏
It's not po-pye-ah, it's po-pya! :D
Hahaha well thank you 😁
Are you muslim? Chinese stalls arent halal. Even fish and seafood soups might have pork broth base. Just FYI.
Thanks for the heads up!
Malay is a race in Singapore. Malaysian is a citizen of Malaysia. When referring to a Malay people in Singapore as Malaysian.. it’s kinda not right
You are so right, we misspoke at the time. Thanks so much for watching 😊
