Cool, 4 yrs. later & this vid is still relevant. I've had my backpack sprayer for years now just using its stock nozzle. I'm finally going to give the TeeJet nozzle a try.
Thank you so very much for this video. I bought the two tips as suggested. Awesome advice! I know this is your first video, but a warning to others: I used ear buds and had the volume up to hear, but then BAM, SO LOUD in my ears when the commercial came and made me JUMP.
I have the Sprayer Plus 105EX as well, and just wasn’t happy with my last soil application. This was a great deal of help! I just ordered both of them. Thanks man! Love the channel.
The ole John Ware special. I bought the same nozzles but was confused and bought additional adapters that turned out to be unnecessary. With my Chaplin 4gal 20v it’s the same as yours. I just needed the nozzles and nothing else. The feel like it really stepped my spraying game up since I got them and understood the difference between them. Good information to put out there!
Those teejets are a game changer. This was my first video and I made it simply because I was confused for the longest time about how to adapt these nozzles to my sprayer. Thanks to the lawn forum, I found my answer!
I recently bought a backpack sprayer and one of those tips - I'd seen both of them, but didn't really understand the specific role each would play (other than the AIXR model supposedly being better at managing drift). Thanks for bringing the info in your usual clear and concise fashion - I just used your link to order the AIXR nozzle to complete the set.
Great job, been looking for a video like this for some time now. I will use your links to buy so you will receive the credit you deserve......thank you.
I know this is an older video, it seems now everyone is recommending the TF-VP nozzles more so than the AIXR11004VP I took it for a first run this week (TF-VP4) and it dispersed product sooooo much faster than I am used too. The RGS I was putting down was for my entire yard and I ran out when only done with the first 1/8th of the yard as I was holding it low and trying to cover each part of the yard like a traditional fine spray. That issue was on me for not knowing the GPM and only used to crappy slow pump sprayers. So I had to get the rest of the yard, held it up higher and nearly RAN and that seemed to be the correct rate for application lol. The issue I had with the nozzle was the RGS was being cast so wide that it was near impossible to get the yard and not the fence (could not really even see where it was spraying due to the color) and now the fence is stained and will need to be pressure washed (when my new grass is ok to step on) I felt like 95% of the product was in a smaller range the part you want on the grass, but this invisible 5% was getting random drops on the fence and that product stains bad on a white fence! So I just picked up an array of random TeeJet nozzles to see if one works better for me, as they have dozens that are made for the same kind of applications. So I wonder why the TF-VP has become the defacto standard recommendation?
Great video, thanks for the information, I'm thinking about buying the Ryobi 4 gallon backpack sprayer number 2860 and order the t-jet nozzles probably order what you have because I have two types of things to do one to kill weeds and second later on just put the humic acid down along with other chemicals as well to get my yard really ready for next year. Thanks
Ive only ever had this sprayers plus and its been a champ. However if i needed a new one i would get the flowzone typhon 2.5 . Ive never tried it but have heard great things. I like the idea of being able to control your psi rather than the set 30 psi on my sprayers plus.
Just installed Tee jet XR 1004vs What a difference in spray pattern its about 24 inches across and even . I still have some difficulty knowing where I sprayed though . just applied 5 oz 20-0-0 to 1k about 1/8 lb. reseeded last fall for a little kick start. thanks
just became a subscriber because of how great this content is. I own an acre and it takes forever to cover. Do you know what nozzle will give me the widest pattern and also put out the largest volume so that I can walk faster to complete the job?
Hi Tom are you looking to do foilar applications? Or soil applications? If foiler, i would get this - amzn.to/2U2wigy . It will give you double the output as the XR11004 but the same 110 degree swath. If you are trying to make soil applications i would use this - amzn.to/2ZZvtsY which will give you a 50 percent increase in output compared to the air induction nozzle i referenced in the video. Keep in mind these nozzles only increase the volume output not the spray pattern, so you will be able to walk faster in the same pattern.
Both of your links sent me to the same product on Amazon. XR11008VS tip. Is this one foliar or soil. And what tip for the other? Thank you for your help. Spent 3 hours spraying iron on my lawn. 22 minutes per four gallons on my backpack sprayer. Definitely need more output.
Tom Hoeffel the first link is for foiler applications and the second link is for soil applications. They are both white but the first link is a VS nozzle and the second is a turbo jet nozzle

I have a two part question if I may… What tip should I use with my 105Ex sprayer to spot spray weeds? I think I could use the metal cone-shaped one that came with the unit (I’m not sure as I’m a newbie), but do you have a different recommendation? I found a recipe for treating weeds with 1.5 ounces of SpeedZone with 1.45 ounces of DriveXLR8, and .55 ounces of methylated seed oil. Can I switch out T-zone for speedzone since that is what I have? Thank you for your awesome knowledge! Much appreciated!
Cone tip will be perfect, just remember those weeds only need a VERY light misting and it can be easy to go overboard especially with the potent combo you just mentioned and yes you can switch tzone and speedzone and vise versa as the only difference is tzone has triclopyr added to the mix
@@PrincessCutLawnCare Thank you so much for your speedy reply! I’m applying this in the morning before it gets up to 90°. I do have tenacity I could use instead of speed zone but I think it’s more costly than T-Zone.
