More smoke doesn`t mean more power :) it means poor tunning. That is simply unburned fuel coming out, so if it issint burned properly it is excessive the engine simply doesnt use that or use only little bit of power of that excessive fuel. This usually happen when people increase fuel ratio too much in order to get power, and they do that simply because they can`t increase air flow, because usually they don`t have supercharger and turbo in the same setup. Turbo takes out the smoke from the engine, while supercharger increase the airflow inside the chamber. When you have both supercharger and turbo, you can lower the black smokes to nearly 0, because you can calibrate the fuel/air ratio more precisely.
@@S3l3ct1ve true but the only reason people have a lot of black smoke when racing diesels is the insure them that there is plently of fuel. u would rather have black smoke knowing u have plently of fuel vs no black smoke and not knowing if u are lacking sufficient fuel supply to engine

Too much nitrous, did you calculate the amount you where spraying? Would be interesting to know. Thanks for sharing the aftermath, would like to see what gave in the first place. Was it the trans and then the engine or first the engine? You blow the trans and unload the engine and you get similar end result as the rpm peaks from the inertia and load from the transmission. At least one big death you suffer in search for glory and power. Rebuild and race again, strap it and pad with kevlar, it absorbs the shrapnel.
Do we know what let go first and what caused it? Like the motor mounts snapped off and the engine rolled, broke away from the trans and took flight? Glad the man upstairs was watching over you, super lucky for no one to have been seriously injured even spectators.

Did you manage to recover the diagnostic data from the computers?. Would be cool to watch a somewhat investigation commentry of the dyno run. Glad you got out in reasonably good shape. Next time maybe a blast shield in cab and a big stack of foam mattresses next to the dyno
Now i really get why Louis from fuel tech has full suit and Helmet on in their dyno vids. Baca and Shredder are a staple in big hp diesel truck world so glad they made it thru that because it scared the shit out of me thru my tablet screen. Ive been skin graffed on my arms and stomach and burns are the worst pain ive ever felt. I ran just like he did not even thinking of where i was running too.
I’m sure you know what your doing, I’m in the steam business and we know what we’re doing too, but safety has to be #1 man. Fireproof suits and helmet when your testing an engine with so much power on a dyno, especially a diesel with that crazy compression. Shielding the passenger compartment or the engine compartment with Kevlar blankets could be a life saver too, not the whole engine needs to blow, a lot of parts that could fly off will take you out as well. You got lucky, but that luck won’t last forever….

Do you guys use a deck plate and a girdle with draw studs to hold the cast iron block together, some guys are running billet blocks, still spitting above the crank. The only thing that holds the blocks is sandwiching it between the girdle and the head. Good luck. Fire suits for future Dyno runs, glad nobody got seriously hurt. I was afraid someone would step on the dyno roller, while going lighting fast.

I wonder if the data logger even survived.
For ppl wondering thats the name of the song, its called Living In The Past by OdinMann ua-cam.com/video/uYTQP4qNqvs/v-deo.html
Good video man. You’re very lucky to come out of that alive and unhurt. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. Onwards, bigger and better 🤘
Do we know what let go first and what caused it? Like the motor mounts snapped off and the engine rolled, broke away from the trans and took flight?
Glad the man upstairs was watching over you, super lucky for no one to have been seriously injured even spectators.
We aren't totally sure yet what the exact cause was.
@@industrialinjection My guess is the block split at the crank, looking forward to seeing what you find, but glad you are alright. was such a nasty explosion :(
@@87fcuktards I suspect the same. Block split, explains trans damage which explains t-case. But not seeing the thing in person and the parts, hard to say
Equally impressive from a performance stand point, and a 'higher power' looking after you.
I get that god is looking out, but the pun is hilarious 😆 no disrespect
Glad to see Shawn back at it and getting it built. This is awesome
Just glad you weren't seriously injured. It sucks but you'll build it better next time. good luck brother.
That's a sweet truck I hope to see it running like a beast again!! Glad nobody got hurt
1st Glad to see he/You are still alive. Have to admit i did laugh quite a bit, and had to play it back at least 25x. still can;t believe it. I believe you should make video;s of the build and then show the MASSIVE EXPLOSION, and then sell the video;s; it definitely is a collectors item!!
Just catching up on this event over a year later, so glad nobody was hurt or worse, what a spectacular mess, not seen many to compare to this. Cheers to All, stay smart, stay safe, be kind to one another :)
Edit~ Would it be safe to assume the frame is somewhat compromised now?
On the brightside the truck certainly lived up to its namesake. On a serious note. Live. Learn. Keep moving forward. You'll hit your goal.
Glad you made it out! That explosion was intense!
Thanks you for making video about it
Murphy’s Law is no joke! the trucks name is fitting after seeing the aftermath... glad to see you walked away to get back after it! And your right God is good and was watching over you!
If your going to do it do it well and you did. Good to see your ok to live and do it again
Got billet block?
You definitely earned the title, " Master Shredder. "
So glad your okay man, i really hope you rebuild her even better, id love to see you throw a bigger engine and some of those pulling turbos and kit in there, and if anyone can do it its definitely you man.
I can't wait to see master shredder make his righteous return. this rig is too cool
Amen brother, im glad you made it safe.
I bet it made an incredible sound in that cab. You are truly blessed my brother
First thing the program needs fire suits. Then in cab fire suppression.
Glad your safe.
Adam Tabor gloves, balakava fire shoes reenforced floor boards and fire wall. Dude looks like freak show piercings ,tats 👎🏻
Poor Dudes still got some engine parts from the explosion in hes ears
If you watch the full video, there were signs they should have stopped before that full send.
Which is more profitable, actually making 3k hp on the dyno, or blowing up trying? Either way, if you're sporting diamond-encrusted ear gauges, you're already winning. Right?
The truck was literally warning you. Shit can be rebuilt just glad to see you didn't get hurt.
"Well the front fell off." Anyone know what that's from?
He'll get it right next time. I think some interior reinforcements are due to keep shrapnel from hitting them and folks don't need to stand right next to the dyno.
Feel for you Man, well said about the most important part of motorsport is not harming the supporters/crowd. Onwards and upwards Sir.
While not nearly to this scale, I lost a truck that I loved. (An 04 ram hemi that I had dumped everything into. And at the time it was killer on the track and the 60ft was insane) And I see the same emotion here that I felt. Mine was totaled at a stoplight but it still hurt the same. I feel your pain and hope to see you come back with a 4000hp rig.
Definitely had some help getting out of there alive! Good luck going forward.
Keep going man!!! Keep the spirit!!! The worst battle is the one that you dont fought!
How much is this truck
You're lucky to be alive dude. That was one wicked explosion
Absolutely insane! Someone was watching over y’all. Stay safe brothers
My man had the best attitude. I felt for him and wish him the best
A couple of nuts, bolts and a good buff. You'll be back to the dyno again. Your right forearm looks like it was painful.
Sorry that happened to you brother, must be painful. But chin up looking forward to another build
I'm not into big trucks but mad respect to him for the work and the balls to go for such a high goal. Breaking stuff is psrt of racing and I bet it will come back even better. I know the pain of having to go through a burned out hull of a rig.
Just seen the video on a Facebook short instantly looked it up and seen another video where it showed multiple angles. It shows him hopping out running off for a split second and once he realizes it he sprints back over to see if he can help his buddy all within about a second or 2. I couldn't imagine what I would do after I was involved in something like this but his first reaction was to save his buddy, just thought that showed a lot about his character!
I'm just glad everyone is ok. That was a hell of an explosion. Now more blood, sweat, and tears are required to make it smoke again. Good luck!
My dad had his leg cut on the infamous double flywheel from a Ford one time. You are definitely lucky. Thank God you all are a live.
After working on trucks for 30 years I would so love to be involved in a build like this one .
Thank you for your video and just know I hate y'all had to experience a catastrophic engine explosion. 😵🤕🤑
I can’t believe if he was messing about with that much power, that he didn’t have a shatter blanket over the transmission, and he wasn’t wearing a fire suit. I bet he does next time.
And a 1/4 inch tranny tunnel ad well as firewall maybe next time aye man
Probably the biggest dyno disasters to ever happen and nobody was severely injured. God was definitely with him that day! I’m sure this truck will be back better than ever.
I know all too well of the look in that techs eyes while looking down at that mess inside that engine bay.
The look of when will I ever have a break from this project.
GD its amazing the two of you inside the truck were not injured from flying parts. I'm not sure sfi anything could hold up to that carnage. At least from now on at least where a fire suit and helmet. 💪 Master shredder will see more action in the future im sure.
Might want to also consider body level IV body armor.
Very awesome update video fellas, be safe out there🤙🏽🤙🏽
