Lyon needs to be the B in an AB goalie situation. I think he would thrive like that. I still think he saved our season multiple times. He just gets burnt out.
Alex played some awesome games throughout the season. When he was on his ‘A’ game, he was off the charts good. extremely quick. Consistency should improve but he was awfully impressive
I took a 20 year break from watching hockey and came back this past January, instantly gravitating to my home team, Detroit, but had to find the groove of learning these new (to me) players and what other teams to root for. Getting to witness the Red Wings on their hot streak thanks largely to Lyon was such a phenomenal reintroduction to the sport. Like he said in the interview, some very high highs and some low lows, but the best you can do is learn from both instances and find the balance. I'm looking forward to next season and seeing what the goaltending looks like, and hoping to see a lot more from Alex. Truly a great guy to watch, and hilariously charming to boot!
He's a fantastic goalie I was beyond impressed with his play and Facebook is fucking awful to him in the comments for games. He carried the team so hard in many of his games.
Every hockey player should have this attitude, both toward the team and themselves. This pain drives determination and motivation, which will certainly carry over to next season and onward.
I don't know who the first interviewer is but he asked Larkin the same thing in the post-game scrum tuesday, does he go around asking people if it hurt when their dog died? Ask better questions.
hmm what about A in a ABC situation. Lyon A and then Cossa at B and then keep reimer for C for the experience and the growth and teaching for the young goalies.
What a bargain signing this guy was last off season. He did have some really good starts with Florida. I think he would make a great back up. But who knows, this guy could win the starting job if be improves. I dont know how Husso is going to play? Husso started falling off after the all star break in his first year. This season, even when healthy, Husso didn't play well. Its going to be an interesting off season. But im rooting for this guy to get better and get the starting job.
I hope Alex earns a 1-way contract next year. He’s a fun personality to have around and seemingly can be relied on for a critical stretch of games in any given season
So grateful that Lyon joined us and that he played so much better (along with Reimer) than Husso. If he can shore up his 5-hole woes then we'll continue to win games next year, especially if we stop turning the puck over.
What the team has accomplished this year is largely thanks to Alex playing Tall when the team needed it most. Then we can also question our goalkeeper's coach if they don't both realize that he will be more or less burnt out, or those decisions are solely on Derek's head here. Alex, I disagree with you, because everyone needs some downtime to mentally cope with their work.

Alex you gave us a chance when honestly I didn't think we would even had one
❤ of a 🦁
He has stayed healthy under a ton of pressure and games. Our #1 can’t say that for the last two seasons.
Lyon King 🦁👑

I think Lyon did a fantastic job! I believe he could be the A of a AB. Defense would have made a big difference!

Lyon will be superb if limited to 30-35 games.
If only he didn't burn out. Man what a goalie when he's on.. But when he's off he's real bad.
Every goalie is bad when they’re “off” lol, he’s just gotta work on being more consistent on the amount of times he’s “off”
@@n1c023 no he's worse when off
@n1c023 you said the same thing...with a lot more words...congrats
