    A beginner could play the F power chord on the A string instead of on the low E as you described for the intro, its not 100% right but sounds closer than the low F

    Do you need to play with the three finger power Chord? Really hurts my wrist and feels super uncomfortable to play in comparison to using my pinky and pointer finger

    • @hgvinyl4512
      @hgvinyl4512 5 років тому +2

      Connor Adams I just use my pointer and pinky, much quicker and doesn’t make a produce a massive difference in sound. The extra third finger is only adding the octave of the root note. I personally prefer using pointer and pinky, all personal preference

    Great lesson Justin. You must be loving that Suhr Strat. It has been a while since I've seen you with another electric. Is it the overall guitar or the humbucker bridge pick up?

    • @JustinGuitarSongs
      @JustinGuitarSongs  8 років тому +6

      It plays real nice and I can coax quite a few sounds out of it. Plus I took a bunch of time off when my daughter was born and put most of my posh guitars in storage... and this seems to be covering all the sounds I need close enough not to have to get others out! I do miss my tele and my 335... but tele picks up strange electrical interference from nearby railway lines which make it almost unusable... single coils just too receptive! So it's a few things.

    • @northof50now
      @northof50now 8 років тому +1

      Being a father of two, myself, I will say "good move" putting the stuff in storage. I have lost count of the number of items broken by my boys, between the ages of 2 and...still counting actually. Between 2-4, keep all valuables waist high or higher, as at that age, they will get to everything. All those nice little bits and bobs on your coffee tables, end tables, etc...put them away if they have any value. Good luck Dad! Thanks for the reply.

    I know all my power chords and barred chords but how do you know when it is a power chord by only reading the tab? (not listening). I figured it would be power chords with this song, but it's not clear when it's power chords in the song book. Is there some kind of symbol?

    • @lvd4527
      @lvd4527 8 років тому

      Power chords are listed as 5th chords (F5, A5 etc). Power chords only use two or three strings at the most, for example a tabbed F5 chord can be written133xxx or 13xxxx depending on the way you want to play it, and if you can play a three finger power chord easily.

    • @bakkermaarten007
      @bakkermaarten007 8 років тому

      AlphaRaven4527 Thank you. But the power chords in the songbook are just listed as F, G and C; Which could be easily mistaken for F-chord, G-chord and C-chord if you don' know the song =)

    very good my friend. Q. do you know how they came up the name blink 182????

    • @kurisuruan
      @kurisuruan 6 років тому

      Tom... The guitarist from blink182 likes short verbs so he thought about naming their band blink but there is this Irish band called blink much popular than them before. Came to them with a lawyer saying if they didn't change their band name they won't like what will happen so they added a random number 182 correct me if I'm wrong about something

      Slow it down using the youtibe cog whell or if you have the actual mp3, load it in to Audacity or similar and reduce tempo.
