This is just one of those stories you can't make up. The fact that BOTH of those benches lived through the test of time. The editing and pacing on this story was incredible. Well done Farran! Quartersnacks delivers.
There’s so much effort and fortune wrapped up in that story. If nobody knows what to do with one of the two, it might be cool to put one in the FA store.
I live a couple blocks from Tony Tave's house in Lake Forest, Ca and its crazy to think one of those famous benches were just chilling in a backyard in my neighborhood lol. Those curved benches are truly historic obstacles made famous from many legendary videos we grew up watching in the early 2000's. Good shit, QS!
Dude I love this man. Truly exposing a skaters mentality and just overall love for skating. I wonder what the few people watching this that aren't familiar with skateboarding are thinking about this story.
"i cant believe this criminal not only stole one piece of property, but knowingly accepted other stolen property as well.... i would like to speak to his team manager"
This entire video is a metaphor for skating in general. Man, you can tell from the roll away that he was just completely gassed. Still stomped it though. Those are the best roll aways. Such a ridiculous trick. So proud of this dude and how well he's doing, I know it was rough for a while. The guy seriously deserves a biopic
Bro this is what makes skating so beautiful, the bench was a symbol for him, he kept running back into it over the years, and I’m sure this bench hold a special place in his heart, plus switch back nose blunt can’t think of a more awkward trick to on a curved bench, your body is already twisted in a weird way, plus your drifting to the left which is difficult to stay locked in, very impressive
Good to see the bench story being told. Loved that damn thing since the day we got it. Hey AVE remember when we rented the U-Haul, and Greg crashed the top of the truck into the roof of the Taco Bell taking the bench to the ghetto spot... 🤣🤣
What A GREAT FRICKIN’ VIDEO. A perfect mini-skate doc! Love this from beginning to end. And best part is I SKATED THOSE BENCHES BACK IN THE DAY AT THEIR ORIGINAL SANTA ANA SPOT BEFORE THEY WERE TAKEN😂😂😂
And we thought this story was crazy already...now it's the where's waldo of skate obstacles. Santa Ana, to some foundation in LA, to a garage, to AVE, to Tompkins, stolen and shows up at Cecil B, disappears again. Now rumoured to be in Richmond VA....just so long as it doesn't end up in Barcelona or China where there's spots galore
DUUUUUUUDE! Proudly wearing this mans shoes, with another crispy pair ready to skate after these ones. AVE's always ruled. Still rules harder than ever. This was a treat to watch!!
💌 Awesome content brotha. Whenever i get that quartersnacks notification, i know I'm gonna be happy for at least a minute and a half out of my day. Keep it comin y'all ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I actually saw AVE at Wahoos in Costa Mesa not too long ago. First time I’ve been star struck by a skater. I froze up like an idiot and didn’t say anything. Definitely regret that as he’s one of my all time favorites.
Ave is one of the best pros ever! His style and trick selection are amazing! I still have a brand new pair of his last DC shoes I bought them from a Ross after he went to vans and I couldn't bring myself to skate them. They're comfy as hell but I've only wore them twice.
I said to myself I’ll watch this for a minute or so and then go to sleep. Sure enough I was so curious to hear more about this bench I ended up staying for the whole thing. Fucking ridiculous how good of a story teller this dude is.
My friend Justin Case got some tricks on these benches in the early 2000s. It was great seeing AVE skate around that time when Justin was on Alien flow. He was a real powerhouse on the board. I recall AVE nollie K-grinding the Sequoia handrail with minimal effort. Pretty mind blowing for 1999 or 2000.

Y’all coming in hot with these series. I’m backing it
amazing skate history
Only skaters could make such a beautiful piece about a random bench.

Every time Ave does an interview I like him more
He’s aged so well. His skating has withstood the test of time. And yes he’s so cool.
he's a living legend. Dude still shreds with so much speed and power!
I forgot how dope that part was. Wow
Didn’t want this to end

What a great question! I would love to know.

And the saga continues! Currently in Richmond Virginia
“I did that, right?” When you’ve worked so hard for a trick, it is a bizarre feeling to roll away from it. Skating is so sick, man.
Happened to me today, landed a trick and walked around in disbelief for a bit

That lock in was magical. I bet it felt amazing to slide around that.
This is the best content I have consumed in 2 months

This is a great edit. Nice work.
Lmao the throw back to dill’s photosynthesis part with the phone call to Andrew Allen was a nice touch
I saw an actual news video about how it's been stolen again. I immediately was like, that's Aves bench! Wild.

the story of the legendary green benches
Straight up the best thing on the internet
These are the pieces we need
Amazing. I knew there had to be a story behind that bench but that was quite the journey.
I actually saw AVE at Wahoos in Costa Mesa not too long ago. First time I’ve been star struck by a skater. I froze up like an idiot and didn’t say anything. Definitely regret that as he’s one of my all time favorites.

I was lucky enough to be able to skate that downtown LA DIY...it was wild. Right in the middle of downtown!
Did the cops come a lot and how long did this spot last about?
Such a rad story.
this is SO good. Now I know why he focused his board soon as he landed
