- John 5:30 - Scripture Twisting 101
“I can do nothing on My own initiative. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is just, because I do not seek My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me."
Al Fadi invites special guests David Wood and Sam Shamoun to explore Biblical scripture commonly used by Muslims, manipulated and out of context, to disprove the Truth of the Word of God.

Great guys....5 stars!!! ....so well articulated. I'm married to an anti - trinitarian j.w. who quotes these verses out of context frequently. I bet she doesn't know she's of a same mind as Muslims.
Amazing video
You guys are amazing! This is the best explanation I found for this verse. May the almighty God bless you!
"...for without me ye (the 12) can do nothing." John 15:5 kjb
Also, the basic English definition of "Distinct":
Distinct: (adjective)--recognizably different in nature from something else of a similar type.
Our Lord is "distinct" from the Father in Heaven (a basic Triunity statement). In John 14:28 Jesus said: "For the Father is greater than I." A statement confirming the *Distinction* between the Father & Son. Hence the Trinity. Muslims need to understand the distinction/personages between the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

John 5:30, KJV: "I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me." Jesus says he can do and say NOTHING himself, so why do you worship him?
Awesome explanation.. Thanks😊
Great explanation...
The God in the old testament contradicts so much with the Father who lives in Jesus. See Numbers 21 about the Bronze Serpent. Then see what Jesus said in Matthew 7 about 'Ask, Seek, Knock'.
Because Jesus is always in perfect harmony with His Father, I'd be horrified if he acted in any manner that wasn't consistent with His Father. He is the El Gibbor promised in Isaiah 9:6, so how could He ever live or speak in conflict with His Father? While Muhammad dragged his god around by the nostrils, none can do that with Father or Son of the Bible. God's consistent claim in the Bible is to "be holy, because I am holy". We must meet His impossible standards, not bend Him to our wills!
Muslims wouldn't know haqq if it jumped up and kicked them in the kidneys. They're always wrong, but never in doubt. _SMH_
John 5:30, KJV: "I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me." Jesus says he can do and say NOTHING himself, so why do you worship him?
@@ADadWithoutKids What grade are you in? You seem to have NO comprehension skills. Are you perhaps about 13?

Dynamite!
Who is the one spoken of in Deuteronomy chapter 13 ?
Yes every messanger is the way to Truth .
If the They do'nt act indepently then who died in the cross? Is it Jeusus or the turnity?
John 5:30 reads “I cannot do a single thing of my own initiative. Just as I hear, I judge, and my judgment is righteous because I seek, not my own will, but the will of him who sent me.” Does this verse show that Jesus considered his Father to be superior to him?
Many people personally met Jesus and some of their accounts are found in the Bible revealing who Jesus really is. For instance, an angel spoke to Jesus’ mother about her unborn son and said “This one will be great and will be called Son of the Most High.” Luke 1:32 So the Father of Jesus is “the Most High” When Jesus was being baptised God’s own voice confirmed Jesus identity. “This is my Son, the beloved, whom I have approved.” Matthew 3:17. God did not say “this is God the Son”
What did his followers believe? When Jesus asked who THEY thought he was, Peter responded: “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Matthew 16:16. Did Jesus correct him and say “I am God”? No, in fact Jesus said this: “Happy you are, Simon son of Jonah, because flesh and blood did not reveal it to you, but my Father in the heavens did.”
At Matthew 28:18 it says” Jesus approached and spoke to them, saying: “All authority has been given me in heaven and on the earth.” If Jesus was God then he would already have “all authority”. He would not need to be given anything by anyone. The question is who already had “all authority” to give him in the first place?
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” It was the purpose and love of his Father that initiated the giving of his Son. So who really is directly responsible for making salvation possible?
What did Jesus enemies say? Those wanting to kill him explained why: “According to the law he ought to die, because he made himself God’s son.” John 19:7
What did Jesus himself say about his identity and relationship to God? He told his followers: “The Father is greater than I am” John 14:28 In a prayer to his heavenly Father at John 17:3 he said “And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.” It’s Interesting that when talking about the important matter of eternal life he did not mention that he also is the “only true God”! Matthew 27:6 “About three in the afternoon Jesus cried out with a loud voice, "Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?" that is, "My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?"
Even after his death and resurrection, Jesus said this about his future: “I am ascending to my Father and your Father and to my God and your God” John 20:17 In fact, the Bible teaches that although Jesus is a powerful spirit creature in heaven, he is still subject to his God and Father. Revelation 1:6 “and he made us to be a kingdom, priests to his God and Father” ”Revelation 3:2 “ Become watchful, and strengthen the things remaining that were ready to die, for I have not found your works fully performed before my God.”
There are many, many more scriptures that disprove the Trinity as opposed to the relatively few that are supposed to support it. The verses that are supposed to support it are perhaps a little ambiguous but have a reasonable explanation. These would be verses like “I and the Father are one”. and “Before Abraham was, I AM”. These texts do not contradict what the vast majority of the Bible really teaches. The cult-like made-up dogma of the mysterious Trinity cannot be explained reasonably and is being believed by fewer and fewer intelligent people.
The Biblical record makes it clear that the God of Jesus is the Father, God Almighty, the Creator and that Jesus is a distinct person, separate from God Almighty. Jesus is the SON of God.
Believing in the Trinity doctrine is not necessary for us to be either a Christian or for our salvation. On the contrary, If we want eternal life, we need to believe what Jesus says at John 17:3.
You hopelessly misunderstand the doctrine of the Trinity
And what about Jonh 1:1...,Who is that Word, because its also say "and the Word was God"
Can you do exodus 20:2-6 sometime
Also do Isaiah 42 scripture twisting. Muslims say it's talking about Muhammad.
Jesses do not know when will the last day will be and still u popple considered him god.
This is not the coequal, co-eternal trinitarian belief. Dr. Dale Tuggy has listed over 10 different types of trinitarian beliefs that people use to adjust what truth Jesus said of himself. But these men are relentless in saying *Jesus is not the Son of God* but God Himself. Accountability matters. *Son of God over 40 times; God the Son 0 times*
Shalom,
Why Brit Hadashah (Hebrew New Testament) Bible says Jesus was "Muslim"???.
It doesn't
@@davidroberts3262
Messianic Jew's New Testament Bible "Brit HaHadashah" says that Jesus was a "Muslim" . Hebrew 7:28 has the word "הַמֻּשְׁלָם" "The Muslim". When their Bible says Jesus was a "Muslim" why they do not believe in it.? Hebrew 5:9 also has the word "הֻשְׁלַם" which is "The Salem". "Salem" is adjective and "Muslim" is noun form of the same word. The word "Muslim" and "Shalom" have same root but lots of people do not know it.
@@T1985-q1d can't you read Hebrew? It's HaMushlaam. It's a sheen, not a seen. Also not a lim, but laam. What verse is that from anyway?
@@davidroberts3262
Hebrew "Meshullam" is Arabic "Muslim". Like Hebrew "Shalom" is Arabic "Salaam". "Muslim" and "Shalom" are from the same S-L-M root.
@@davidroberts3262
It is in Hebrew 7:28.
If Jesus is one with God and can't act independently from the Father, why doesn't the Father claim in the Bible that he can't do independently from the son... unless this question is answered we can conclude that the Father is greater than Jesus so it's better to worship someone greater than Jesus.
Hi Ahmed, you pose an interesting cunndrum here. You are along the right path of thinking - so let this help you:
If Jesus can do what the Father has not asked of Him, and all authority relating to Humanity rest on Jesus shoulder, by the authority of the Father - then when you worship Yeshua - you are worshipping the WORD of the Father; There is no contradiction here. We do not worship the prophets, even though they spoke the message of God. But the prophets did not have the power of the SON. Only the Son and Holy Spirit have ever been in the throne room with the Father. Only the Father knows the Son, as the Son knows the Father.
You see, it all fits together without contradiction. That is why we know Yeshua words to be TRUTH - because He is God's WORD.
I hope that helps encapsulate your understanding....
By looking at Jesus alone, we can see why many false prophets fall by the way-side - EASY!!!! When a Prophet is willing to contradict Jesus - alarm bells go off!!!!!
If Jesus can do what the Father has not asked of Him, : that is meant to read: If Jesus cannot do what the Father has not asked of Him; Or put another way - he only does what HIM that sent him has asked HIM to do!!! Remember, Yeshua never sinned - meaning he never acted against God at any time....
Islam needs the bible but the bible does not need islame
This lecture took a left turn almost immediately by stating God works on the sabbath,. It was made clear in Genesis that God created everything in SIX days and rested on the Seventh. BUT these people are saying he works seven days a week.
Gerry Grieve
Genesis 2:2 King James Version (KJV)
2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
God rested from all his CREATION WORK ...
David Wood is a JOKE
These three are engaged in full on sophistry
There are MUCH better Christian apologists than these charlatans
Jesus is not God:
“O People of the Scripture, do not commit excess in your religion or say about God except the truth. The Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, was but a messenger of God and His word which He directed to Mary and a soul [created at a command] from Him. So believe in God and His messengers. And do not say, "Three"; desist - it is better for you. Indeed, God is but one God. Exalted is He above having a son. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And sufficient is God as Disposer of affairs.”
