    Access is what makes a museum…a museum! Without collection engagement, what purpose does a museum serve? As a museum situated within a community college, the Housatonic Museum of Art (HMA) has achieved one of its biggest goals to engage our students, faculty, and staff; but how do you do this without a digital collection? Charlotte Lefland, Housatonic's Collections Manager, will discuss the process of digitizing the HMA’s 700+ paintings and shifting the museum’s database to one that can be easily put online and accessed across the state, region, country, world!
    Speaker Biography
    Charlotte Lefland is a museum professional with 10+ years of hands-on experience working with museum collections. She has a variety of work experience and knowledge, and a wide range of skills and abilities. She holds a Masters of Art in Museum Studies from Johns Hopkins University’s Krieger School of Arts & Sciences Advanced Academics Program. Charlotte joined the Housatonic Museum of Art in December 2022 as their first full-time Collections Manager.
