I grew up listening to 'Aisea Sing but unfortunately never heard of him talking about this song exactly but from what I have heard from men who were around 'Aisea during his time they claim that it was for a Salina Nau by Manase Nau, but with that said I am not sure myself but the claims of this song belonging to Sione Lavemai Finau is also interesting
The origin of this song should be put straight for the record, for all time . We heard in the 70s/80s, it was composed for Manase Nau , now it seems there are other claims. Perhaps Luke Manumua would know something about it. Luke where are you? Are you still in New Zealand?
