    • @sdbegotist
      @sdbegotist 6 місяців тому +1

      @@Firestrike337 so the smaller of the two is meant to be the brains of the computer, and is meant to be part of an ecosystem of components, including a more dockable unit for office/home setups, as well as a tablet-like experience.
      The ideal setup of these types of devices is having the smaller of the two to be with you all the time like your smartphone, having it docked for a home office setup, can be taken to the office, or to be used for more intense usage with this type of eGPU layout.

      It's no different from buy a huge AZZ gaming PC 😂 It's called the future. Anything futuristic or alien like always was small buy packed a big punch under the hood. Nobody was complaining when PSP, Gameboy advanced and so many small technology came out. Ben 10 is another example, Black Panther etc. stuff like that is just beyond your belief

    Not sure I see the point of the detachable GPU module. It looks too small to have higher end options of GPU. So unless the company is going to commit to at least one or two generation cycles of nvidia upgrades, it might as well just be build in.

    Egpu’s are the future for mini pc’s. Buy a nice mini pc with a lasting cpu, upgradable ram and m.2 ssd slots, and then you have interchangeable gpu’s. Now, with the price they are at, this isnt viable lol

    This was meant to be upgradeable when they originally marketed it. Its so expensive for that GPU, can literally build an entire 4060 pc, of the same size for that price. If it was $400-$500 and upgradable yourself, it would be amazing.

      This GPU dock is 2.63L, and the smallest mITX case I know of that can fit a compact 4060Ti is 3.99L. That's 52% larger than the dock, but if you know of a smaller DIY solution, I'd love to know.

      @moleyboy9650 6 місяців тому

      @@Kuriketto How much you recon that dock plus the pc part costs when combined? A 4060ti is £350-£400? Plus for that 52% larger space, what do you get fully upgradeable components, for the same price as just that dock, ignoring the fact that you also have to pay a lot of money for that pc. Paying a £400 premium just for the size of it, is really not justified in this instance sadly. It's a very cool thing, and it's still good, however at the right price, as there is nothing like it on the market right now.

      @@moleyboy9650 This might make sense for some because this is a niche product after all, but obviously not worth it for most people. To be fair the dock has a TB port, too, so it's not necessarily tied to just the Mind mini PC. I'm actually asking if anybody knows about a smaller DIY solution. Not smaller than this dock, mind you, but substantially sub-4L.
