It’s messed up because the fisheries are so hurt because of huge companies and their fishing practices and because of major cosmetic companies with their oxybenzone sunscreens killing the reef, and the local guy has to suffer when he’s fishing to feed himself and his community.

If you’re a fisherman, you know that there are bag limits and size restrictions, and species restrictions. To take Fish to claim you were ignorant of this is a lie. It’s not the states job to put up signs everywhere to explain to you the regulations that’s where you go get your license for and grab the regulation book.throw the book at this guy. He knew exactly what he was doing. That’s why he showed up at 10 PM in a marine sanctuary guilty.

If that's only 1 night can you imagine how many fish he has killled till now.
It seems there are less fish when i go to Queens beach. Used to be when i threw some bread they were so plentiful and looked like piranhas swarm, now there are so few.
Theres a reason they have the rules.

Hawaii is extremely expensive enough to live there therefore the locals are trying to sustain oneself by harvesting
    their own oceans resources.

I scooped up these small green fish for my salt water aquarium, put them in a five gallon bucket, and was given a ticket while putting them into the back of my truck. All of my fishing gear was confiscated (including my poles which I wasn't using) and I was in court within a month and fined.

ps. 3 baby hinalea I scooped up for my aquarium and they are not endangered because we don't spear or catch them as they are not good to eat. It was legal fishing month/year but the size is what got me in trouble.
