It's important to understand all this for exam, but being history MA from DU, I can say, these are just fantasies and stories of a particular section of historians and must be taken with a pinch of salt rather than taking it as true history. Reasons are quite obvious, alongwith some lack of availability of sources at this point of time. History, thus, is a dynamic subject...

Shudras we're different they lived within the village and practiced farming and Cultivation while the Chandalas lived outside the Village and survived on Hunting and doing tasks which were considered low and not touched by other castes such as , Tearing of Body Partss and when they entered the Village they used to make sounds so the villagers Identify them and hide in their house in order to not to see them or get in contact with them
