      And the most genuinely relaxed and centred. My mate is a freelance TV producer and he had to oversee quite a few interviews with Ronnie at The crucible back in the day (He used to get me in free of charge as well, which was the nuts!) but Ronnie wasn't always the easiest person to interview in those days, lemme tell ya! He's at peace and untroubled now. Best player that's EVER lived. End of!

    i love the way ronnie sees life and the way he sees snooker as just a game without pressure and just a sport.
    he's done everything in the game and the game has benefitted from ronnie as well.
    i don't see ronnie wasting any years in snooker because i don't think he would still be playing now. much like stephen hendry was finished in his mid 30tys

    • @Temme142

      it's probably alot easier to see the game without pressure and just a sport when you've made your millions playing it though. the guys working part-time bar jobs practising 7 days a week are the ones with the pressure on them - only ever a couple of losses away from dropping off the tour!

    • @Mitjitsu
      @Mitjitsu 2 роки тому

      According to Ronnie he can't afford to retire, and I suspect much the same applies to Higgins. There isn't the money there used to be when the likes of Davis and Hendry were dominating. Even Dennis Taylor is richer than all the current players on tour. Also, as you get older the worse you deal with pressure, because you know there's going to be fewer opportunities to do well in tournaments. Ironically one of the best tournaments I ever had was when I came in with no expectations and felt somewhat defeatist coming in, but because I didn't particular care as to how things went. I didn't buckle under pressure and make mistakes like I would in the past.

      @H No, the top players 30-40 years ago made far more money due to the amount of opportunities to make money off the table. Snooker was the number 1 sport in the 80's due football being plagued with hooliganism and dilapidated stadiums. Snooker was in decline for many years at the turn of the century and has only began to make some form of resurgence thanks to growing interest from the far-east and people from countries where snooker has no presence access to streams via social media. The only question I have is when will the Worlds move to China and what will be the long term effects.

Mr parrot , that seems odd and he said “well fuck off then if you don’t believe me and pass me some of that breaded cod, parrot loves cod

    Watched ronnie from the very beginning and is bang on what he said.
    He don't need to prove anything anymore, as he has achieved everything, and he is the most naturally talented player ever without doubt.
    I think ronnie will at least match hendry's record of 7 wins at the world snooker before he retires.
    Interestingly ronnie has won the world championship through 3 decades to hendry's & davis 1 decade.
    Ronnie has beaten a larger range of talented players through those 3 decades making ronnie the best ever player at the crucible.
    Joe davis won 15 times through 3 decades but the standard were not as high as they are now.

      @@iblacka1 Hendry started to ease off the practice in after his 7th worlds, and for the last few seasons simply turned up at tournaments, still held a top 16 place like that. His comeback has been poor for the same reason, he won't dedicate himself to the game as he's got buisness and media commitents to mention a life to live. All of O'Sullivan, Higgins and Williams found their games slipping late 30s, however they took on new methods of coaching and sighting and have recovered and gone on to return to the top. Hendry never did this.

  • @KimiRai-lf3gn

    He lost 10 years but those up and down's are necessary for him. Look at Hendry, he had a very successfull but very short career. The pressure broke him. Ronnie is different. He is still the best in the world at 46... Those up and downs is a necessary evil for him, without those he would be broken aswell. He is naturally drecompressuring to maximaze his longevity. It's smart and I think he is not even conscious of that, it's a natural phenomenon.
