Great looking project. Don’t touch anything. Just get it running and driving, safe and clean it a little. Anymore than that will cost a fortune 💰💰💰💰💰 Good luck
It’s actually refreshing to watch a car show where there’s the odd “I don’t know” when there’s something wrong. Liking this project already. How about calling it Marge, it looks like a big block of margarine. 😂
Thank you. This is my first American car so I guess there'll be a lot of "I don't knows" in the future. But as Simon said, "it's like a big ford anglia". Quite simple to work on. I really love the name. 👍🏻
The Galaxie is one of my favourite 60's American cars. Yours looks very savable. I watch another tube channel, 'Junkyard digs' from Iowa. Always good fun and I've learnt a few things. One is, never trust a made in China Distributor! I think they've done a couple of Galaxies so there may be info on there for you. Yours is a great watch, so I'm looking forward to the next episode.
I'm a big Junkyard Digs fan. I'll have to go back and have a look. I'm sure I saw a video over the last couple of days and they mentioned a Chinese/amazon distributor. It could have been Pole Barn Garage. Or one of the many videos I've watched trying to find the tapping sound. Thanks for the kind comments.
I'm a fan of oily rag restorations, get it going for as little outlay as possible and drive it, can't understand those who restore a car to mint standards then get scared to get it wet , old cars are meant to be driven., will be great to see this going ASAP.
I agree. We restored my wife's BMW E36 Convertible to a high standard. It's mint underneath. I have to check the weather before driving it. This will be a good usable fun car when finished, certainly not a minter.
In the 70,s Galaxy chocolate counters had a model kit named Clive the Camel (Some for sale on Ebay) The Galaxie is a similar colour so would be a good name
All I know is. I do the odd old Harley and the import tariffs from the states are extortionate. I go bits that have to work - good ole U.S of A. Bits to look at cheap and cheerful China. You do get good help and advice from the guys in the states though.
Cheers for the heads up. I've been watching Old Car Alley. He restored a 65 convertible a few years ago and goes into great detail of each part he restored.
We have a combination of things. The thing I put on the roof when we started it is cheap thing from Amazon (look up Zeadio handheld stabiliser) which holds an old iPhone. I also have a Yhiyun gimbal also for a smart phone. We normally shoot any time lapse on a DJI Osmo Pocket which uses a mono pod.
That V8 sounded surprisingly smooth after a carb fiddle. I’m amazed all that water hasn’t killed it!
The FE engine is quite bulletproof. We think the water level in the sump didn't reach the crank.
@ that’s what concerned me with the bearings. Good news if it didn’t 👍
I love that car!!

That's the plan!

That's an excellent name!
Really coming along now. Great work
Thank you!
Thanks guys
Thanks for watching.
You are a brave man, cant wait to see that in all her glory - Gloria the Galaxy?
Enjoyed that, cheers guys 😊
Thanks for watching!
How about calling it Ol’ Yella, that was taken outside and put out of its misery if I remember 🤔 😂
It wants to live!
Good luck with the landyot sounds good any chance of getting an update on the marina was starting to think you gave up on it
We've not given up. Both Matt and Si have been busy so it's taken a back seat. Hopefully normal service will resume shortly.
You can't kill these Ford engines

I don't remember Clive The Camel.
Where's the Marina gone? Please don't give up on it!
Don't worry. It's still being worked on.
Really interested to see what you're going to do with the gearbox and tunnel...
@ so am I!
Call it The Milky Way.

Good to hear the Galaxie running but a good old British Name for Her like Daisy because She behaves like a Cow sometimes?
Ermintrude!
On the upside, its very thick metal, so repairing it should be easier
Yeah we don't think the rear floor will be difficult to do.
There's another chap working on a Galaxie like yours on YT, He's called Simon Fordman you might pick up some hints & tips from Him?
Cheers for the heads up. I've been watching Old Car Alley. He restored a 65 convertible a few years ago and goes into great detail of each part he restored.
@@crap_car SF has been ordering parts for His if that helps?
I've been getting most stuff from Rockauto.
@@crap_car ok mate, good luck with the refurb 👍
What are those camera rigs you’re using? Are they to hold a phone?

Wheels Cosmics or Dunlops ? ;-)
I've got a set of dunlops on my Anglia van!
The name should be “HMS Colossus”
How about Daisy May
Or the wife thinks Gladys as a good name for the Galaxy
My wife wants me to call her Gertrude.
@@crap_carGert is a good one.
So you had the valve covers off while it was trying to run on 7 cylinders and never noticed that there was no oil at the rockers.
*rolls eyes*
were is your MARINA GONE ?????
It's still there! It will be back soon.
It’s a 5 Year project plus !!!! Don’t do it
Na it's not.
