Growing up on a farm, I took for granted how much knowledge my family members had, especially my grandmother. Every time I watch Kim's videos, it strikes me how much knowledge she has about sooooo many different things. If I could put life on hold for a year, I could fill a notebook up with notes on growing, cooking, etc. just by binging these videos. I know it's just real life and you're living what your passionate about Kim, but wow are you a walking encyclopedia! Like everyone else says, your kids are so lucky to be immersed in the best education there is. I hope they carry it on in their own lives. Thank you so much for all the great content!
Boy, are your children blessed to have you for their mother. What a beautiful life they've been given. Wish all children could be blessed with this way of Life. 💜💜💜
@@MichiganSilverBack I always wonder how she does all she does with all that hair. It’s gorgeous! I’d be miserable in the heat with so much hair. And the bugs and spiders would make me have to put it up. Every video, my biggest question to myself is “how does all that hair not get in her way”! lol! 😂
Good day to you dear friend 👋. Such a fun harvesting video 😊. Reaping the rewards of your labour. Your chill jam sounds delicious 😋. And wow so many puff ball mushrooms 🍄 ❤. Greetings from England 🏴 Simon and Beth watching 👋❤️👌😍
Please do a short and cut them. My older brother used to get them centuries ago. They sound hollow. I don't remember those so much, just a little. We used to mushroom hunt every fall. Grand Rapids, Michigan area. You are probably sandy down in Indiana too.
This year for the first time I've had potato fruit on 3 of my plants. I believe it's quite a rare thing and in order for the potato plant to fruit ,the conditions have to be exactly like the Andes where potatoes originated from. Also saving the seeds from the fruit will ensure that when grown the seeds will produce a completely new variety of potato, so in essence you could name it whatever you like and then have a unique variety all of your own. So i saved and dried 6 of the tomato looking fruits, each with dozens of seeds inside. I'm going to try and germinate some, and direct sew some others in early March. Hopefully they grow and i have my own personal variety of potatoes! I'm quite excited to be honest! 😂
Hi Kim, I own a Thai restaurant, if you combine chopped cobra peppers with fish sauce it’s wonderful on fried rice, my favorite 💜💜💜 a lot of our customers love chopped chili peppers in fish sauce 💜💜💜
Don’t you just love it when you’re in sync with your homesteader buddies and can in chime in too? 🤗 I picked up some cukes for pickling, concord grapes, and shrooms at a farmers market yesterday. 🥰 Stopped by my garden and picked my tabasco peppers! I like my pickles, whole, fermented, and Hot! 😝My usual cayennes were either dried out or green yet on plants. I made 2 large jars last night. Usually 20 days later, they’re done. Then transfer them to the frig. I use 1T Salt per 2C water, 2.5% brine. I later use the peppers to make hot sauce. I just throw them in the blender and put in some apple cider vinegar to puree them. Salt, sugar(?), Done! No sifting. ✔
And shrooms! Puff balls! Shooting range? You really don't know how much a tease this woman is! Kim's a jackpot! Not sorry about that either. Just got to get hubby in there with venison, jalapenos, shrooms, garlic. Beer! HEAVEN! - Just my 2 cents and values, OK? Veggies? OK, Sure!
We’re still here, stuck in California, been backyard farming for 6 years but still trying to find the right land 😊 love your vlog, you guys have a beautiful farm and I always learn things from your videos 👍
Geez Louise, your like the Energizer bunny. I imagine you did all that harvesting AFTER milking the cows and your other regular chores. And your day isn't over yet. Now you're going to preserve, cook, and take care of your family. I admire your drive, and wish I had as much stamina. Props to ya!
What yas do and how yas live is what we all were supposed to do since the beginning of time, I respect and admire yas all,the True one smiles down upon you and your family, ✌ ❤ 😊 🙏! Nice find on the puff balls, they cut up like meat too !
I love Yellow watermelon. I have one in the frig now I need to finish up. And maybe get another one. I’ve been drooling over the homesteaders that grow those orange ones and eat them in front of me - WITHOUT SHARING! They’re fun because they lose that watermelon taste, but are sweet, crunchy and juicy. And the yellows are seedless and basketball size, so there not so much to eat. You ever try Ruth Stout for potatoes? That looks productive.
Proverbs 10:22 He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the LORD. Your Husband is one blessed man! Proverbs 31:10 A wife of noble character, who can find? She is far more precious than rubies. 11 The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he lacks nothing of value. 12 She brings him good and not harm all the days of her life. 13 She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands. 14 She is like the merchant ships, bringing her food from afar. 15 She rises while it is still night to provide food for her household and portions for her maidservants! God bless you!
I thought Yukon Gold taters were small, I also thought you had to grow potatoes in/on a hill- mound. Learn something new everyday. Orange wabbamelbon meat mmmmm nah nah nah...lol WOW what are those mushrooms ? I have never seen anything like that.

HEAVY SIGH!
Excellent way to grow potatoes, beats a pitch fork hill dig for sure 😮😊.
I haven't used the Hay Mulch method before, I was wondering. I may give that a try next season, mounding is a pain.
Moe is the cutest 😍😍😍
Moe's a side kick. KIM is the one.
Love your family channel!🪶
Nice potato crop. Wear gloves to handle hot pepper. Good sweet potato crop here in lower Ohio valley. Wow on puff balls!😮
Beautiful life, your fortunate ✨🌺

That puppy is super cute. Love Moe! Question, do you use potato seed? Where do you get them and when?
I get them from a wholesaler but you can also get them from Fedco! And in the spring check your local farm stores
Sorry but I just can't get passed the hair. It's so pretty.
❤
Please. Please. Please make a video while your processing your peppers 🤩🤩
I will! ☺️
Mo is not scared of bugs.
I think the funny pepper plant is a black cobra
💞💞💞💋💋🔥🔥🔥🔥
Kim, where is your broadfork?
I never found it 😂 I’ll find it when the weeds die back
@@honeytrailfarm I thought I saw it being used when the sweet potatoes were harvested.
🇦🇿🖐👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👍👍
Kim, what about the ticks? You dont get ticks all over yourself?
Luckily we don’t have many in my area! I did find a deer tick on me after coming out of the woods the other day though

Ya know, I’ve always heard that but it hasn’t killed me yet 😂
Do you have plans for a Honey Trail calendar? Because yer hot peppers & hair are so gloriously hot
