Letting Vegeta live as a demonstration of greater virtue by hoping that the exposure to mercy in the face of horrible crimes is exactly the kind of life lesson so many people in the 20th century were inspired to display in their works and is so sadly lacking today. The fact that Vegeta took so long to come around to admitting that this one act was so unfathomably morally beautiful - in a universe dominated by the Frieza force and its many atrocities - is exactly what WE would think, because we... simply do not understand, at this time. That said, there is a good reason Goku did not extend the same virtue to Frieza, Cell and Buu.

Goku doesn't like to kill people, if push comes to shove, then he will and lives, but since he is so good-natured, he offers villains a second chance. I'm in Vegeta was a terrible person, but he was nowhere near the level of Frieza, who he actually gave energy to so that he could escape the planet destruction, and only killed him because Frieza was too arrogant and prideful to just for a treat and maybe deal with him another day, but try to use that power to kill him, and got destroyed. I mean he did technically survive, then Trunks killed him, but it did look like Goku killed him, and Goku might have thought he did.
Actually, actually, I would say that Vegeta was probably one of the worst things about the series. The reason for this is because now that there are two ultra powerful saiyans that means that the other heroes just kick the can of responsibility to them so if it was just the main character by himself, and he died, the other characters, have to pick up the slack, actually get stronger, but because vegeta is there, they don’t have to do that they can just fall down to vegeta as a back up
I don't think he stupid when letting vegeta, more like the most selfish he ever done, because he getting overpower by vegeta power and wanted revenge to vegeta😂 so he beg Krillin to let go vegeta
Well idk about the dumbest decision. I would say it's bad decision like PJ. Personally the dumbest decision that he made was letting Goten and Trunks handling buu

This wasn't a secretly good idea. It was just a straight up dumb idea in all ways. He just got super lucky it ended up working out. It wasn't like Goku knew or even thought there was any chance it would turn out good. A lot of people calling out giving Cell a senzu bean as bad. But at least there Goku thought, and had good reason to think it could work out. That isn't the case here. This is just pure dumb luck turning a horribly dumb decision in to a good thing in the end.
He's always been battle-smart. Super, however, just makes him a pure dumbass so of course everyone who has never actually seen the series is just gonna think he's a dumbass.
It was actually not a bad idea at all it was actually one of the most intelligent decisions Goku ever made in his entire life. This decision of Goku like many others create good karma for him and his friends and family. Example on planet Namek Vegeta unintentionally say go horn and Curleys wife time and time again by getting rid of threat will personally underlings of Frieza. Goku allow trillion to kill Vegeta. He will essentially have allowed Crillon to kill himself and to kill go hard. Because by the time go to ride on the battlefield they only lasted as long as they did because the cheetah unintentionally saved their lives by killing certain freezer force members. Did the show fancy have a genuine dislike of the character Goku continue to say things that are negative and that are not true simply because they are too never mind it to shortsighted and just have a negative bias against the character of Goku. When his actions in the story line has proven every decision you ever made it’s always been for the benefit for the good even if it was a selfish decision it always came back to prove to be a good thing for Goku and his friends. One final example is this supposed stupid decisions the stupid fan say that Goku me what is their freezer right I’m glad it dammit. The fulfillment of that good deed that nobody that pure of heart deed, came full circle in the tournament of power. Period Goku spare increase his life allowed freezer to give Goku’s the energy needed in order to further evolve ultra instinct. Any fan who calls any decisions that Goku has done, done dumb or stupid. Shows how stupid and dumb they themselves truly are. The positive aftermath of Goku’s actions and decisions have benefited the earth his friends and family time and time again.
Letting Vegeta live wasn’t a dumb decision he literally has no choice it’s in his genetic he did the same with Freeza and cell just like Vegeta. Vegeta let Freeza power up the first time. They are sayians 😂😂😂 why is this so hard to understand. Just cause it would be a dumb decision if I did it doesn’t make it a dumb decision for Goku. Besides without Vegeta every dies on namak including Goku 😂😂
eröö hr ptobrf hoe fu,b he is when he let Freiza come back to life then the became Black Freizer nd is now the Strongest been in the entier manga yeah that is very smart
Goku may not have much in terms of Iq but his emotional intelligence is high because he uses that as well to assist his battle IQ. Vegeta was never really and evil guy he was the product of his upbringing and the more he fought Vegeta the more he saw that. Letting him go may have been foolish in the moment but he knew his intentions to destroy the earth were not genuine and that him as a true threat wasnt there. People like Frieza though were evil out of arrogance
Goku did not care about vegeta’s upbringing or anything about the saiyan’s involvement with freeza till the namek arc. Goku sparred him so that he can fight him again and have a rival. It is very clear that is why goku sparred him. He doesn’t care about what happened to the saiyans and vegeta till he fights freeza for the first time. When he spares vegeta he didn’t even know of freeza
I will maintain that his dumbest decision ever was with Frieza. Both on Namek and letting him leave the TOP without giving his halo right back to him after Whis takes it away. Kinda even wished they left Frieza with the halo and a slice of redemption. But they bring Space Napoleon back to wage war on the cosmos because Raisins. Raisins is my intel guy.
It wasn't a dumb or bad idea at all. He couli ring himself to be the reason that an entire race was reduced to just him and Kami helped him learn to forgive others.
The reason he kept him alive was purely because he wanted a rival. Someone that strong excited him. It wasn’t mercy. He says he got excited fighting such power.
Goku even said it was a bad idea as he was doing it.
And now no one understands him, thinks like him as close as Vegeta does. Crazy.
He did that with Piccolo Jr as well.
That one made more sense. If Piccolo Jr. died, Kami would die with him and the Dragon Balls would go inert.
Goku is uneducated as far as like book smarts go, but as a fighter and friend he is one of the most intelligent beings in the universe. I do not appreciate Super slandering him.

When he spares vegeta he didn’t even know of freeza
vegeta has the besrt story arc in all of anime. its pretty tough to get much more, especially when the creator of the manga didnt like him.
Super did Goku dirty 💀
Not the first comment. Please don't pin.
Goku was always smart , he just grow up without parents so he stay immature , it's like you guys forgets that
Ima vegeta fan and I don’t understand why goku is portrayed as dumb and childish in dbs, in dbz he was not at all dumb
