Sweet Potato Pound Cake
8 oz. softened cream cheese
1/2 butter room temp
4 large eggs
2 1/2 cups cooked, mashed sweet potatoes
1t. vanilla
2 cups sugar
3 cups all purpose flour
2 t. baking powder
1 t. baking soda
1/4 t. Salt
1 t. cinnamon
12 cup bundt pan or 2 loaf pans
350 degree oven
50 to 65 minutes

This looks so yummy, and it reminds me of a recipe my Aunt Doris used to bring to family dinners. She was out of pumpkin bars and wanted to bring pumpkin bars, so she used mashed sweet potatoes instead and everyone loved them. From then on she brought sweet potato bars. Now she is in a nursing home, so this is a good memory to have.
I love this show! I share this with so many people. My sister who sat and watched many episodes with me. A young college student who was babysitting my granddaughter sat and watched with me and came back to make sure she had the right name of the show. I love how y’all shine for the Lord, and the hard work you do I know you do it as if doing for the Lord and we all benefit. Thank you for sharing with us ♥️

I'm so ready for Fall. Can't believe it's almost here. Don't worry about tasting your batter. We've all done that and most of us still do. I've never actually heard of or from anyone who became ill from it. I've also never heard of anyone dying from handling raw chicken either. That cake is gorgeous...So are you and Mr. Brown!
I always say if raw batter is the way I go, then I die happy. 😂 Almost 50 years and it ain't killed me yet.

Mrs. Lori, I made this today for my family and saying it was a hit is an understatement. I had debated putting a glaze on it and ended up drizzling a thick one on the same way you did. My daughter said that without the glaze it would have been like a pumpkin bread but with it it was like a cinnamon roll. Everyone had the same happy look as Mr.Brown when they tried it. The smell when it was baking was amazing too!! Thank you for sharing this wonderful recipe with us!!

I found your cooking show by accident, sure am glad I didn't skip it! Reminds me of my growing up on a small farm in N. C. & I loved it! My Mama was a hard working person, while my Dad worked as an Airplane Mechanic 5 days a week. She & my 2 oldest brothers worked the farm, I could hardly wait to be old enough to work too. I'm the only family member left now to tell my children & grandchildren of our wonderful life on our farm. Love your love of our Lord, may you & your family be blessed always 😊❤

Watching the two of you is pure joy! You just enjoy the simple things in life but make them incredibly special when you share them with us. It’s actually calming to watch you go about your days. When I’m a little to revved up I pull up your vids and immediately feel I’ve come home to relax and be comforted.
Definitely going to try this cake. I love these hefty pound cakes. You didn’t mention this, but, I assume you don’t put the glaze on if you’re going to freeze it. Just add it after the cake is defrosted. God Bless you both!!!❤

I particularly liked the fact that you made this without an electric mixer. I like to use a wooden spoon and mix by hand. It just feels good. And, it works. I am not a maple fan so I will use vanilla. And, I do love nutmeg. Aren’t people funny? Beautiful cake. Both of you are a blessing to me. Thank you.

That looks delicious, I love pumpkin! Those canned apples and apple butter looks so good. My grandmother used to make fried apple butter pies, they were AMAZING! On a side note, I love love love the music you choose in this video, it reminded me of the song Ancient Words by Micheal Smith.
