@@SuperColonel91 14-20. And no. They reclassified me my last 9-10 months at my unit. We needed a heavy equipment platoon. I had several LOD’s so they ended up putting me in that platoon. That being said, if you have good APFT and now ACFT scores. You can kind of negotiate what you want near the end of contracts as an incentive to reup.
I'm assuming they have civilians do this as well? 8 weeks ain't long enough to be a good operator. Been doing it 10 years and still learning constantly.
Your being trained by people who’ve been doing this MOS easily 15-20 years, military doesn’t put instructors in charge of things like this that don’t have experience
@llab3903 went through a 3 year union apprenticeship, and I was still only so-so in a lot of machines when it was over. Takes a lot of seat time to be proficient, and they don't run these machines every day in the Army.
My National Guard Soldiers use this MOS in the civilian world and became very efficient in this MOS world, I loved what they do.
Spent five years as a 12B and was reclassed 12N my last year. Going full pog had its benefits.
When did you serve? And you were allowed to serve in an MOS for only a year?

Been in the Corps since 2016.
What is LOD?
@@chriszimmerman9737 I would also say that 12B is pretty much like being an Infantryman

I was a Heavy Construction Equipment Operator in the US Army 1986-1990. Back then the MOS was 62E
I want to say 2003 is when light junk got pushed in to the heavy junk and became Novembers.
Unrelated, but this sounds like the guy that narrates the codex in Mass Effect
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Lmao true.
Cover me while i build
I got you covered
Lmao
Sentry down!
Kind what I was thinking!
When I was in it was 62E. 1988-1994
This video was the deciding factor😂
Hope you enjoy doing PMCS more than operating
LunaticRed EyeS88 PMCS ain’t that bad bro😂 I’m Guard tho👀
@@Undertaker93 PMCS?
You better PMCS your vehicles the right way. It makes it easier for mechanics (that's me) to fix
Nah I’ll just wait til it breaks lol
They said drive a tractor trailer 😂😂 because that’s not an 88m job 😂
Yea but we move our own equipment
12N’’s are better than 88mikes in every way
@@Matt-oj2kl Without us there wouldn't be anything.
I was debating about 12n and 88m but I might go 12n if I get to drive big trucks anyways

That’s because they’re paying YOU. You learn on the job. No reason to fluff it.

I mean you can learn basic operating in a week if you try hard enough lol. Never worked at a mine huh?

Idk why the army doesn’t just hire a contractor for this
Because they do this in active war zones silly.
Because it'll be 1m to dig up some dirt
