I agree that the business seat product on Qatar is dependent of the type of aircraft use for one's flight. I have had the opportunity to take Qatar Q Suites & Singapore Airlines Business Class. As a solo traveller, I felt that the centre seat in the Q suite cabin generated claustrophobia when the sliding door was closed. Unless there is a very good reason to fly Qatar, like for myself when I had to be in Doha for a meeting, if given a choice, I would still choose SQ business.

The SQ A380 Business Class is not the best product as most of the seats you cannot put your legs straight ahead but awkwardly off to the side. You were just lucky you were able to get the bulkhead seats of which they are very few, which have your legs straight ahead and a lot more comfortable for sleeping and their bed/seats are rock hard and horrible!

You know you're a Brit when you board the aircraft, walk down the aisle and say "sorry" for passing the cabin crew for absolutely no reason. It's ingrained in all Brits to apologise when we are not at fault at all.

Depend on luck of draw what plane Qatar has on that particular trip.
