Gta 4 was a big deal when it came out. Most beautiful graphics and the most realistic video game in 2008. And still better than most video games today.
A weird take that I’ve grown to have, is that III & IV are really the only “adults only” GTA games; meaning the storyline is very grounded and mostly deep at points, making you think about morality and your own personality as compared to the over-the-top movie-style storylines of VC, SA & V. You could feel more relatable to Niko dealing with personal and family problems, as compared to a lunatic like Tommy or the comical situations C.J. would get himself into. IV has grown on me into this masterpiece that, while not an underrated game, is underrated in the series as a whole, and deserves its time in the sun.
the sad thing is all Rockstar will see is how well GTA V sold and well loved SA was and will no doubt continue going down this over the top comical route, GTA V already felt like it was borderline saints row, Rockstar are much better at making deep and frankly a bit depressing stories GTA 4, Red Dead Redemption 1 and 2 and Max Payne 3, all have insanely good stories driven heavily by grounded characters - i really hope GTA 6 follows the grounded and more serious tone (at least for the main story) but i feel like they set it in Vice City as an excuse to lean even heavier into the goofy shit
@theaces3697 My underlying impression of GTA VI's trailer is that it features a world filled with comical shenanigans, excess, and vice, but underneath it all is a more genuine story about the cost of living in such a world. And its brutal, dark underbelly that affects the unfortunate. As cliché as it is to say, a story more similar to IV's but with V's vibrant, more vapid surface.
@@themadtitan7603 That was my impression too, Lucia seems trepidatious about getting into a life of crime from what little we saw of her in the trailer. I believe Rockstar has the ability to say something heartfelt and maybe even powerful.
I think that with the experience and feed back they have received from RDR2s story I am almost certain that this story will be more grounded. They have already confirmed that the game itself will be so it’s safe to safe that flying bikes and alien guns won’t make it in (thankfully).
As someone who grew up in New York, experiencing this game for the first time was ethereal. I had never played a game that captured the atmosphere and the feeling of simply driving through time square at night so accurately.
I feel that is the best thing about Rockstar games, and why their open worlds are so loved. The games may not be perfect, but they can capture the "vibe" of the city really well. And it makes it fun to explore.
Everything about this games story is incredible and light years ahead of its time, the environments, the characters big and small, the bleak and dark story, knowing you can never truly get a happy ending just amplifys everything and subverts my expectations.
I think of RDR2 as the culmination a lot of what Rockstar started with GTA IV regarding immersion, character work, and storytelling a decade later. In many ways, also the culmination of everything they've been doing since GTA III.
They won’t it’s crap , looks good in trailer , but crap , no one gunna get that gta4 feeling in a new gta anymore . Prolly no swingset glitch too . Love the swingset glitch n free mode rank tdm etc
I don’t think I’ll connect with GTA 6, it looks very aimed at the generation brought up with the internet, people posting videos of themselves for the likes etc. It looks aimed at children.
@@TheZackkary1 GTA has always been making fun of pop culture contemporary to when it came out (with the exception of vice city, San Andreas, lcs, and adv) GTA 5 came out when the world was obsessed with California and Hollywood culture, I remember every TV show being based in California in the 2010s. GTA 6 will be no different, it's definitely not going to be in an intrusive way that makes the game boring, and it's clearly aimed at adults who understand the joke it's trying to make towards our current generation.

GTA 4 is one of those games I can never get tired of. I’m starting to play it again on pc now that I can mod it. That end game bug sucked when I got it too but the guides just said to mash the button more and that seemed to work for me on pc.
GTA 4 is my favorite game in the series. Storyline, vehicle physics and graphics are fascinating to this day. And ofcourse DLC, The Lost And Damned and The Ballad Of Gay Tony which expand games boundaries. TBOGT is my favorite one of them, I even made a video about it. I'll recommend to play DLCs every GTA's fan who haven't played already.
Just beat the game again a few days ago(my 3rd playthrough), and my god this was a classic. The attention to detail; sound design(listen to the guns), and the story still holds up today.
You're very well-attuned to the thematic significance of Niko's choices in the story, this game's incredible writing goes under-appreciated because its presentation is not as cinematic and its brilliant dialogue is always delivered in realistic silence. Rockstar's future games would always have a musical score that played during missions and cutscenes, and would of course have checkpoints too.
In 2008, my dad had moved to NYC, and I got a 360 and this game... and upon booting this game the atmosphere echoed what I saw in New York pretty accurately. Even though New York isn't always hazy, somehow the game's look and tone feel accurate. Maybe moreso than any other game has been able to capture. Even as someone who doesn't LIVE in New York, just from what I've seen while visiting, the game does a great job of capturing the energy. And while I suck at video games and rarely ever actually play GRAND THEFT AUTO to advance the missions but rather just to fuck around and explore the open-world, it's still enjoyable to just cruise around and NOT play missions, just be a person in that world. They did a great job with the game - to my eyes, it holds up.
The thing I adore most about this game, is it’s atmosphere. It’s so unique - in a way that makes it more noteworthy than a lot of other uniquely-atmospheric games. It fascinated me in high school when I played it, and it fascinates me now.
Rockstar used to be more open to player choice during missions. Particularly San Andreas comes to mind, it's pretty experimental friendly to solving missions
Really hoping for a proper remaster (long shot, I know) this year with updated visuals- by that I mean having an option to get rid of the piss smear filter that was so prevalent in those times as well as higher resolution and framerate- and no multiplayer so the damn platinum trophy is actually obtainable without breaking my heart and soul in the multiplayer.
Loved the video and agree with most points except one, I think GTA 4 has some of the most engaging missions when it comes to players choice. There’s so many different missions that let you complete them as you please, for example the mission “Lure” or “pest control” showcases this very well. I think it’s the perfect mixture of the 3D era games, where you solely decide how a mission plays out. And that of the HD era, that balances that narrative they’ve been known for with the last couple games. I’ve beaten the game several times and i still find new ways to complete missions and it’s very refreshing!
I literally just finished a playthrough of this game today on PC.... That helicopter bug is caused by running the game at higher than 60fps. I lock all my older games to 60fps in case of issues that can happen, and I didn't have any issues with the helicopter. Strangely though, if you play GTA 4 on Xbox Series X, that bug is also present, and there's no way to really fix it. You can still finish the mission, but in order to get into the helicopter you have to spam A really fast and hope for the best lol
The game's story is well deep. It has some funny moments from time to time, but overall it is kinda depressing but I can understand. Niko is a soldier, fought the war and left with pretty much psychological trauma because of Darko. It's a shame that R* screwed up the port and made the performance bad.
I first played this game when I was 6 years old (my older brother owned the game) and I completed the story when I was 9 or 10. I’m now replaying it again aged 21 and I think it’s fair to say GTA IV is a testament to the video game industry, and my view on this game isn’t just influenced by nostalgia bias.
for the final mission download fraps and set the fps to 30. after the jump off the ramp hit the key you set to change the fps and then you can actually get onto the chopper then hit the key again to go back to your usual fps. this glitch happens cause the game was originally made during the xbox 360 era
Paid 19.99 plus about 10 minutes ago, I never owned this game growing up but played it a lot at my cousins, I look forward to the story it has to offer I hear it is one of the greats!
Honestly, this game has to be one of the best entetainment experiences I've ever had in my life. For me it's the definition of a gangster action adventure game which is one of my favourites and if not my favourite genre of video games. And that's why I save my 2nd playthrough for the time I will have played most of the games of the genre. A true 10/10 game
Also tips for EVERYONE to have a better time with Rockstar games from IV and on: Treat them like have semi-RPGs, like the game is reading HOW you play because it kind of is. Let me elaporate: 1.) Whatever cars the game GIVES you from like missions, you keep and use solely for as long as you can. I still have this car post-Roman's Sorrow because it's unquie and the first car the game gives you, Roman's Taxi. Still in the parking space and keeping it there. 2.) Keep track of your stats. Like your run downs and cars stolen. SOME cars for missions, don't count as stole I've learned. Like the car you steal to intimadate the laundary mate owner for Vlad. Doesn't count, check it out. 3.) Try to avoid stealing cars as much as possible. If you can go on foot, go on foot or take a taxi. 4.) give money to tramps and sax players. 5.) When people call you up to hang out, do it if you're not in the middle of something else tedious like 200 pigeon hunting lol. And even then if the person calling is close do your hunting, do it. Keep everyone above 90% PRIOR to finishing the story. Real easy and the percetage drops REALLY slow from 100%, just be sure to call and cancel if you want to do something else so there's no drop in percentage. 6.) Avoid killing NPCs if you can, NPCs have multiple condtions they're in before they're OFFICALLY considered dead. Kind of like how in RDR 2 knocking out NPCs doesn't kill them, same in IV. They lay on the ground still alive, just injured. Death is when they're ragdoll on the ground and/or money comes out of them. 7.) ALWAYS have the radio on for updates or news in the city and because the music with eventually match whatever you're doing. Going on date? Romantic/sexual music with tune when you get in the car to and mainly FROM the date back to their aparment for example. Or being chased by police or in a shoot out chase with criminals durting vigilante mission. Music or radio brodacts notices how you're playing. The moment I started stealing cars more and I reached all 20 vigilante levels, I get a news update on the increase in crime lol. I take out a good portions of pigeons in liberty city, I get a news update on Animal rights activists lol. The game is reading how you play. Was playing it so none psycopahtically since the very start with my most recent re-playthrough that one hang out with Little Jacob he says it's US (now in conversation he means humans in general like both of them, but also think it's the game LITERALLY telling me the player) that gives the life it's craziness. WE the player on HOW we play are causing the game to react to HOW we play. Similiar things in RDR 1 & 2. From gameplay to physics, IV & RDR 1 having the better, but RDR 2 having the second best. Also for those that know in IV and RDR 2... The optometrist eyes...
Grand Theft Auto IV is a masterpiece. The characters and story are fantastic. Niko is the best protagonist, in my opinion. Everything just came together perfectly. While underrated is often thrown around a bit too much these days, I feel of the Grand Theft Auto games, IV is the one that sort of seems to be left out of the conversation compared to other entries, such as SA or V. I’ve noticed a lot more people are playing this game again and have either more appreciation than they did before as they may have just thought it was good, but not great or their appreciation for GTA IV has grown more than before. I’ve loved this game since 2008 and I still love this game. It’s not just my favorite game of the franchise, but I believe it’s the best game of the franchise, as it has you immersed into the dark world of Liberty City as well as Niko’s desire for revenge while also trying to leave his past behind, which isn’t easy for a man like Niko. There are definitely great entries in the franchise, but I think IV is the best. Thank you for the video man, take care!
I absolutely adore this game and this was a great watch. Shout out to carrying on our nation’s fine tradition of slagging off your home county and drawing attention the fact that the cousins must have to share a bed at times, showing that Rockstar thought “fuck it, between this and their personalties, we’ll make Roman and Niko the Serbian Joey and Chandler.” This game is sublime. The story, Niko as a protagonist, the side characters, the gameplay. My only criticism is the sometimes repetitive missions but even with that it is the masterpiece of the GTA franchise.
Thanks for brining back amazing memories about this game. I remember that I was pretty depressed after the ending (no, didn't fall out of the helicopter) almost as bad as after our boy Arthur dying.
I'm actually playing GTA IV for the first time ever right now., I was hooked from the second I heard "You see not everything I tell you is bullshit" Also, you should try red dead redemption
crazy how you're playing this now as I started again recently - i can't believe how well this game plays on pc settings a good 15 years later... being able to see a lot further with a lot more pedestrians and vehicles makes this map feel alot more alive than it used to. Have also noticed that the enemies are pretty sharp, no running around like a prick here, you get exposed you get shot you die. Loving it!
Recently found your channel after my RDR1 3rd or so playthrough after many years. I knew i loved rdr1 but was reminded how much i actually love the game. Hadn't been disappointed about a game being over in quite a while, so i found closure in your beautifully world analized videos to give me more of that delicious red dead sauce. Also recently played gta 4 in the past year. So, great stuff, great vid, love the energy and quality of your vidos and excited to dive into rdr2 content you have once i play it again and the rest of your vids. Much love from the US.
GTA 4 has a special place in my heart because it's an immigrant experience in an exaggerated nutshell. It can be applied to both UK and US, we go there for "better life" but we end up being faced with a harsh reality while being reduced to tracksuit wearing alcoholics who say "kurwa" far too many times (speaking mainly from easter European Perspective)
Im about to play this one for the first time. I was probably about 10 when vice city came out, my parents weren't so keen on me playing it and tbh i found it all kind of intimidating, being able to do whatever you want. But by the time V came out i was 20, i loved that game but it was my first entry into the series. I started playing the trilogy remaster when 6 was announced, and as buggy as they can be they're definitely playable, and I don't regret playing these games as an adult when the story for san andreas would have gone over my head as a kid anyway.
I know you haven’t finished the game so I’ll try to say what I can without spoilers lol. What separates GTA IV from later entries in the franchise and what makes it stand out - especially in hindsight - is that IV was a very personal journey for Niko as we saw the world of New York through the eyes of an immigrant who just arrived as we discover what his actual mission is. There’s no doubt that all the V protagonists are more dynamic and interesting characters than Niko, who is something of a blank slate, but what IV did was keep you invested in him and his life as he was on the run from Dimitri for most of the game. V, meanwhile, feels more like a wacky power fantasy. Nothing in that game makes you feel the same terror that Niko did returning to find Roman’s apartment on fire. You never felt that these characters are on the brink of death in a city where all the powerful are arrayed against them, you feel like they can take on the world and win. And while that’s not inherently bad, it is significantly less intriguing or compelling as a story, as Niko does feel all those things which draws the player into him and his story. CJ in San Andreas was a nice middle road between all of them, being a fun and entertaining character to play as while also part of a story that was dramatic, powerful and compelling. Even the social commentary and satire of contemporary America feels more absurdly over the top than in IV. Yes, IV had those aspects too but they were mostly contained to TV and radio, while the tone and aesthetic of the world chose to present an America where Niko felt powerless and only through struggle could he make a name for himself. The American Dream features very heavily, but subtly, in this story as it’s what drove Niko there in the first place. It’s a very serious story with serious characters. But in V, they seem to go all out on the wackiness that is just a part of the world. The pot salesman who lets you trip balls and fight aliens or monkeys with a machine gun is a good example of this, as are the other strangers and freaks in V who seem much more over the top as satire compared to the way in which their IV counterparts were also obvious satire but also very believable and grounded too. I suppose this is to be expected when IV is based in New York, historically a more dreary and bleak city compared with the sunny skylines of Los Angeles, which is why San Andreas also had a lot of wacky side characters in its game. I guess it just comes down to preference. I enjoy V, and I always have fun replaying it as it is a good story that keeps you invested and engaged with these characters from beginning to end. But I so much prefer the dreary realism of IV and the raw, guttural nature of that world’s story compared to the intentionally over the top nature of the story as presented in V. With luck, VI will be a perfect balance with likeable characters in a gritty and well grounded world and even though the initial trailer does imply they’re looking to go in that direction, I think V and Online’s success will be too tempting to resist and there’ll be more wacky elements in VI than in something like IV, which in a way I would prefer as it does stand unique among GTA games so there’s no point in trying to replicate it.
I agree with most of what you said - but to call V's characters more interesting than Niko is a load of bs. The characters were the worst part of V. First of all, 3 is way too many, I did not relate to any of them like I did Niko or even CJ. They are just silly goofy stereotypes made worse by a silly.over the top Michael Bay storyline that has you not care about any character personally. Such a wasted opportunity. Los Santos could have told such an interesting story, more grounded, but they chose the crazy route to appeal to 12 year olds. Real shame. I hope 6 tones it down a lot and makes you feel like you actually care about who you're playing as
As far as I'm aware, the bug with the helicopter is more to do with the frame rate. When the game came to back compat on Xbox, it ran at 60 instead of 30 fps (the game was always unlocked to run at 60 just obviously the 360 and PS3 were lucky to even hit 30) and it's also plagued with the issue of this bug
in order to get over the Heli glitch you either cap the FPS to lower than 60fps OR grab a Patch 8 file that somehow wasn't added to the complete edition where the Heli glitch doesn't exist at 60fps
I remember watching my brother play this game and GTA always stuck around in the back of my head since. I only played the game in secret (don’t ask why) a couple times as a kid, but that was it. Little did I know the impact the game had in the gaming community years later. Nowadays, some of the sound effects and soundtracks sound recognizable, despite my limited experience. Now, even though I don’t play the game these days, I still have a level of respect for it (the memes helped).
Coming back 5 months later and I can’t help but hope GTA VI is the perfect combination and balance of IV and V We need the return of the gameplay and serious story of IV and the freedom and sandbox feel of V
I just recently opened a Steam account and bought GTA IV on a sale and I am playing it once more but now in 2024, and look I just got recommended this exact video, man it's like someone knew about my online activity and caters content based on it.
GTA 4 probably had the best story and gameplay in my opinion. The story was perfectly gritty and taking on the satirical side of the US is done in a way. I think some of the things characters say would be seen as too outrageous For example, I don’t think some lines Manny Escuela says would sit very well in a modern day California such as when he goes mad at his cameraman / editor saying “You made me look gay, man. I warned you, bro.” And “Who the hells ever heard of a metrosexual ex-gangster, man.” I’ve just started playing GTA 4 again and have been contemplating making some content on the game. I was 9 when this game came out and it makes me laugh how much of this game would have gone over my head at the time and my dad watching me play wondering why they would put some things like this in a game. It is a game I’ve never quite managed to put down, but on my most recent play through I’ve added a shaders pack and a few HD texture mods for a few 2024 gameplay fresheners. If like you, haven’t played the game properly before I would enjoy the game in its original form
Grand Theft Auto 4 was my first Grand Theft Auto. I had to BEG my parents to let me get it, because of the adult content 😂 I completely relate to that, and I'm just glad I've gotten the ability to play it at all. Niko is such a grounded character, I think he's my favorite GTA Protagonist. He feels real. He doesn't feel like a parody of stereotypes like in GTA V, or Vice City and San Andreas. Having to come from Russia over to the United States is just such an interesting concept that not many games cover. Immigration is difficult, and Rockstar captured it almost perfectly with GTA 4. Keep up the great work, Fizhy!
Niko is Serbian, not Russian. A big part of the game is that the Russian mobsters hold their influence over Niko as they feel like they can boss the other Slavs around like it’s still the old country.
@@Longshanks1690 I don't think I ever realized he was Serbian honestly, thanks for enlightening me on that. Well, he soon begins to realize that they don't have as much of an impact on him in the States.
@@Amfneey Well they don’t ever explicitly say he’s Serbian in the game, only that he was part of the Yugoslav war, probably to enforce the point that it doesn’t really matter what side he was on, it ruined everyone’s lives equally forever regardless of whether you were Serbian or Albanian. But yes, it’s confirmed he’s Serbian. (And Russia wasn’t part of that war anyway lol)
@Longshanks1690 I'll be honest, I know nothing of those countries and I haven't researched into them 😂. It's very interesting though to see they take inspiration from real world events and put them into a fictional version of real areas. I find that very interesting.
someone probably mentioned this already but the helicopter bug is happening because you are running the game above 60fps. lock the frame rate to 60 and you will pass the mission
The funny thing about the “player agency” part of the video is it showed one of the very few missions where the player has some amount of agency. You showed (presumably) yourself going into the hospital guns blazing, when you can go into a changing room and find doctor’s scrubs, which allows you to approach the target and kill him without getting an immediate wanted level. Admittedly, from what I recall, you do get one almost immediately after killing him, so it’s not that much of a better approach, but it’s something and you get a neat outfit out of the whole ordeal.
One feature you forgot is unintentional trickshots lmao 28:53 is a perfect example, I remember one I had involving Kate Mcreary on a scooter, peak gaming imo
*Niko Bellic is one of the best developed (GTA) characters, inspired by the fictional character of Sasha Ivanic (from the movie "Behind the enemy lines") and it also looks that He was created to some extent to resemble Boško Radonjić also known as "The Yugo" , a real life Serbian immigrant criminal that was operating in New York in the '70s ,* *He's arrival by the boat in LC kinda reminds of the arrival of Antonio Montana in the movie SCARFACE.* *One more fun fact, Grand Theft Auto Vice City stories plot is also more adult , tragic , showing that the life of a criminal can have damaging consequences*
I just finished a 100% run of the steam version the other day. You can beat the final mission if you plug in a controller, and do the button mashing on both the keyboard, and controller. It worked for me at least.
i just finished my first whole play-through of gta 4 last week so i was happy to see this video! i guess i was lucky because i didn’t get that helicopter glitch!
Honestly I played GTA 3 the most out of any of them and love SA but GTA 4 is the best GTA ever made with the physics that make it feel more realistic. Best played on PC with FusionFix and mod it a little to make it look really good!
Great video, as always. I'm actually playing through this game again for the first time since the first time. I think I like it more than GTA 5 honestly.
I love your videos and GTA4 is up on my top ten list so to see you mix this game in with your amazing type of videos is exciting I’d love to see more like this on GTA4 😄
One thing I would highly recommend though is downgrading the radio to its original radio to get the full experience of how the game was originally intended
Liberty City is the best open world city in any game ever! I really like the driving mechanics too, Best/most stable car is the Blista Compact and I really like the Faggio Scooter.
The helicopter glitch is on console as well. I recently played gta4 again on xbox and was met with the glitch it was a nightmare, but eventually, I got past it and finished the game.
I think it's quite hard to set a game in such a vibrant beautiful climate and give it the temperate grit of GTAIV, it would need to be its own kind of dark but yes, I'd absolutely love to see darker aspects to storytelling thoroughly explored in GTAVI. I just think there's a different balance to strike to truly allow the world to become a compliment the worldbuilding and narrative as Liberty City does with 4.
Great video. Ricky and I believe Katt Williams are in the comedy. Also, didn't the races have replays? One last thing, what's that Jazz track towards the end - sounds beautiful😊
Hope gta 6’s story is as grounded as 4 I played it last year and it was crazy I love how in 4 four leaf clover heist felt well earned and the steaks were high it felt like being in a scene from the movie heat

The games may not be perfect, but they can capture the "vibe" of the city really well. And it makes it fun to explore.
I remember getting the Xbox 360 in 2008 and getting this game with it - one of my favorite birthdays ever.
Little Jacob is the MVP of the game for Niko. He's the only guy who's there for him no matter what, and is a good friend.

I think of RDR2 as the culmination a lot of what Rockstar started with GTA IV regarding immersion, character work, and storytelling a decade later. In many ways, also the culmination of everything they've been doing since GTA III.
In my personal opinion, GTA 4 has the best story in the series. A darker, more realistic story. I don't imagine GTA 6 will follow these lines
Nah, I don't suspect it'll be anywhere close to being as dark as 4 but it'd be nice if it explores darker themes at least to an extent.

GTA IV is a work of art
I certainly felt it
The gunplay and animations are still better than GTA 5 too imo
An imperfect work of art, console versions are ugly and PC version is glitchy and poorly optimized.

GTA 4 is one of those games I can never get tired of. I’m starting to play it again on pc now that I can mod it. That end game bug sucked when I got it too but the guides just said to mash the button more and that seemed to work for me on pc.
Just cap the game at 60fps
GTA 4 is my favorite game in the series. Storyline, vehicle physics and graphics are fascinating to this day. And ofcourse DLC, The Lost And Damned and The Ballad Of Gay Tony which expand games boundaries. TBOGT is my favorite one of them, I even made a video about it. I'll recommend to play DLCs every GTA's fan who haven't played already.
Just beat the game again a few days ago(my 3rd playthrough), and my god this was a classic.
The attention to detail; sound design(listen to the guns), and the story still holds up today.
Never forget IV gave us the first proper "heist" mission in the series and set the tone for V
It didn't, actually the first proper heist was in GTA Vice City (Altought optional but not really, you understand me if you played the game)
@@matijota8728yup correct
@@matijota8728 Arguably the GTA 4 heist was just a next gen retelling of the VC heist too.
In all the rockstar games, if you had the left trigger halfway, it will be freeaim.
The right one is for more accurate shots if done correctly
Really hoping for a proper remaster (long shot, I know) this year with updated visuals- by that I mean having an option to get rid of the piss smear filter that was so prevalent in those times as well as higher resolution and framerate- and no multiplayer so the damn platinum trophy is actually obtainable without breaking my heart and soul in the multiplayer.
Fingers crossed there's something on those lines.
I literally re-installed GTA 4 like an hour ago lol
:)
lol same
Hurt myself laughing from the "hurried taxi" part.
It is an almost guaranteed method to causing mass chaos
I have this for both consoles. To say that I'm a fan of this game is an understatement.
The game's story is well deep. It has some funny moments from time to time, but overall it is kinda depressing but I can understand. Niko is a soldier, fought the war and left with pretty much psychological trauma because of Darko. It's a shame that R* screwed up the port and made the performance bad.
I think gta 4 is way better than gta 5...has way better story, characters, missions and overall feel/atmosphere
Just re did the story a month ago.. amazing, still holds up with todays time.
Paid 19.99 plus about 10 minutes ago, I never owned this game growing up but played it a lot at my cousins, I look forward to the story it has to offer I hear it is one of the greats!
I'm replaying gta4 right now, and it's different experiencing everything as an adult
Agreed! Our pee-wee brains just couldn’t comprehend this masterpiece of dark storytelling. Get the DLCs for an even better experience.
Let me elaporate:
1.) Whatever cars the game GIVES you from like missions, you keep and use solely for as long as you can.
GTA 6 better have the same physics as this masterpiece!
Unfortunately no chance
Maybe something in between. Gotta not piss of the little chumps who’ll shark card the game until the next century when GTA VII will come out lol
@@FunkkyPanda69No way!!! Not an inch in between. In fact it should be even more realistic. GRAND THEFT AUTO! look it up.
The only things I can think of that I I like more in 5 is the Online character progression, custom vehicles and crews.
If it means the gta 4 driving controls then please no. That was abysmal.
The story is great, choices that lead to differnt side quests and some of the best physics in any game.
I absolutely adore this game and this was a great watch. Shout out to carrying on our nation’s fine tradition of slagging off your home county and drawing attention the fact that the cousins must have to share a bed at times, showing that Rockstar thought “fuck it, between this and their personalties, we’ll make Roman and Niko the Serbian Joey and Chandler.”
This game is sublime.
Yeah I probably should give RDR a go.
30:45 Same, I asked my brother what that mustache icon was when I was and we went there, and immediately turned around 😂
Absolutely one of the best GTA games going, fantastic video man as always!
crazy how you're playing this now as I started again recently - i can't believe how well this game plays on pc settings a good 15 years later...
being able to see a lot further with a lot more pedestrians and vehicles makes this map feel alot more alive than it used to.
I can't say how hard I laughed when hesring the hurry reffered to as "Bradford mode" because its just too true 🤣
The Pisswasser ad is pure art. Also all the TV content is great satire
*So this is what a dream feels like. This is the victory we longed for*
Happy belated 2013 new years 🎉🧧
Using taxis in this game was a game changer, trips were a phone call and a button away. Helping complete missions lightning fast
I have finished the game now on PC - did an entirely different playthrough on my jack
@@Fizhy Woo : D
V streams next? 🤔
@@Longshanks1690not quite I still need to finish the stream playthrough for 4 but I’ll do the video playthrough separate anyway
Real shame. I hope 6 tones it down a lot and makes you feel like you actually care about who you're playing as
What were you smoking to say Niko had no personality and a blank slate
As far as I'm aware, the bug with the helicopter is more to do with the frame rate. When the game came to back compat on Xbox, it ran at 60 instead of 30 fps (the game was always unlocked to run at 60 just obviously the 360 and PS3 were lucky to even hit 30) and it's also plagued with the issue of this bug
Best way to counter it is to cap the frame rate to 60 fps, it alleviates the major bugs at least.
@@SquidgyPixel the Xbox caps at 60 and still has the issue. The problem is R* never accounted for players getting more than 30
in order to get over the Heli glitch you either cap the FPS to lower than 60fps OR grab a Patch 8 file that somehow wasn't added to the complete edition where the Heli glitch doesn't exist at 60fps
Coming back 5 months later and I can’t help but hope GTA VI is the perfect combination and balance of IV and V
We need the return of the gameplay and serious story of IV and the freedom and sandbox feel of V
I think some of the things characters say would be seen as too outrageous
For example, I don’t think some lines Manny Escuela says would sit very well in a modern day California such as when he goes mad at his cameraman / editor saying “You made me look gay, man. I warned you, bro.” And “Who the hells ever heard of a metrosexual ex-gangster, man.”
I’ve just started playing GTA 4 again and have been contemplating making some content on the game.

Shall do my best. Cheers for the support!
In a sense, GTA IV is not just the best written GTA, it is the boldest and most important satire of urban culture of its period in any media.
GTA IV had such an amazing story. Still to this day my favore gta. Nothing will top it
GTA4 was and still is my fav, sad that it’s not been remastered or at the least re released for modern day systems.
someone probably mentioned this already but the helicopter bug is happening because you are running the game above 60fps. lock the frame rate to 60 and you will pass the mission
Might finally get this on series s thanks to this video keep up the great work
Regardless of whatever, these guys made one hell of a mirror to be able to put up to society and give a nice good reflection back for the video game.
Good to see you back man!
Wasn’t gone terribly long
*Niko Bellic is one of the best developed (GTA) characters, inspired by the fictional character of Sasha Ivanic (from the movie "Behind the enemy lines") and it also looks that He was created to some extent to resemble Boško Radonjić also known as "The Yugo" , a real life Serbian immigrant criminal that was operating in New York in the '70s ,*
*He's arrival by the boat in LC kinda reminds of the arrival of Antonio Montana in the movie SCARFACE.*
*One more fun fact, Grand Theft Auto Vice City stories plot is also more adult , tragic , showing that the life of a criminal can have damaging consequences*
Nikos and jacob’s relationship taught me how special and rare it is to find a ride or die friend, that shit was deep

GTA 4 not having a proper remaster or port to the PS4 or PS5 is criminal.
One of the best games ever
I love your videos and GTA4 is up on my top ten list so to see you mix this game in with your amazing type of videos is exciting I’d love to see more like this on GTA4 😄
One thing I would highly recommend though is downgrading the radio to its original radio to get the full experience of how the game was originally intended
How you get past the helicopter glitch is to set your frame rate to higher than 60 in aspect ratio and it also fixes the wonky handling for bikes.
I lost my shit when he started talking about the taxis lmaooo
Liberty City is the best open world city in any game ever! I really like the driving mechanics too, Best/most stable car is the Blista Compact and I really like the Faggio Scooter.
The helicopter glitch is on console as well. I recently played gta4 again on xbox and was met with the glitch it was a nightmare, but eventually, I got past it and finished the game.
I hope the darker tone of GTA 4 comes back for 6.
Not a fan of dark things
It won't be. Be like Vice City and be lighter
GTA4 online didn’t have all of the bells and whistles 5 had but was still far more memorable and far more fun.
Great video. Ricky and I believe Katt Williams are in the comedy.
Also, didn't the races have replays?
One last thing, what's that Jazz track towards the end - sounds beautiful😊
GTA IV will always remain a classic especially with it's darker themes from the rest of the series and a more deeper story
Hope Niko shows up in GTA 6. Like a gun aimed at Jason or Lucia and the camera pans over to him slowly. The goosebumps of seeing him would be wild.
I believe Niko is the best character within the GTA games
Niko was a real one!!
