Listen . I play golf with a institutional trader for a bank . They do not look at charts and levels and that stuff like us retail traders .Their trades are mostly long term . They prepare way ahead of time. Strategizing where they think where the market will be months , years later . Then they execute mostly to a time not a position on a chart . Say 2.30 pm on a friday afternoon . Scheduled on a weekly basis .
I don't know what institutional trader you "play golf" with. But I WORKED at a large trading firm in the RISK department - we absolutely looked at charts. The guy you play golf with is probs a sales person who knows nothing about what goes on behind the scenes. We would give traders (sales people) direction on when to trade, like 230 on a Thursday. But the actual intelligent people making these decisions are not playing golf and running their mouths to some rando. The math people prefer private lounges and laying low.
In fairness, that’s the point of the strategy. You are trying to pinpoint these large order blocks and trade alongside. Be it 2:30pm on a Thursday or not. Anyone that says retail trading charts are useless A) Might be trying to sell you some alternative (We’ve seen his ads) B) Can’t interpret “retail trading charts” to the extent at which they need to be profitable or they’d probably be doing it. Well I can and I use a combination of this concept and VSA to validate/invalidate levels. I don’t have a channel, I’m not funded and I trade my own money on lower time frames. So to anyone reading this, you can do it and given time, patience and correct money management you will. And yes, you’re going to have to allow for a lot of chart time. It’s worth saying that the more experience you gain you will spot these anomalies and patterns posted in this comment but whether you can use that information to bolster your strategy is another thing.
Yeah I've always felt the same, the term break of structure is a misnomer because it's a continuation of the trend. Change of character should've been called break of structure.

Dear Secret Mindset, other traders, First of all thanks for the comprehensive explanation, it's very valuable content. Could you please clarify how you would distinguish a CHOCH from a possible corrective wave? As i.e. a corrective ABC wave will look like a CHOCH as it breaks the swing low in an uptrend. Or perhaps in other words, on what scale (how many bars back) is it best to identify the trend you want to trade in? Looking back 100 bars it may have BOS and show an uptrend, while the same chart 300-400 bars back may show we're in a downtrend, all on the same timeframe. Thanks for another great video. I have a question. When you draw the fib levels for the order blocks (-50%, 61.8% and 78.6%), do you start from the bottom line up or the top down? Please correct your BOS markup. What validates a BOS in True SMC is when it has taken our Inducement (IDM) or Engineering Liquidity, otherwise, those are single moves.

Some people just get this 50 percent fib level of fvg and than wait for the body of candle to close above or below this 50 percent level to decide where market may go next.

@@markusmuller1525 lower timeframes are not reliable enough in my opinion. It is better to find fvg on higher ones...so 1h or 4h but in general before you make decision you need to read price action and know the context and that comes with experience unfortunately. Lower time frames are good for entering and exiting position.

It's different for the up and down swings. Look for our Fibonacci guide, we explained there how to plot them 👍
