I have noticed more than any other specialty how different radiology are on the phone and in person. When I call them up I get my head bitten off for an inadequate order etc etc even if they do eventually protocol the scan, but on the occasions where I have ventured into their lair to discuss a case in person they could not have been more friendly and helpful. I can only assume that living in the dark has given them very sensitive hearing and the phone is excruciating for them. If you have time I always recommend going to see them in the reporting room, just be sure to whisper. Oh and you often get a biscuit as well while you are there.

@@Mr.Ambrose_Dyer_Armitage_Esq. Your reply annoyed me enough to care, so read this carefully: When you created your account, you made a mistake. You chose a name that is unique enough to be easily googled. I did so, trying to determine if you were just a troll, or if you actually believe what you wrote here.
You dont act like a troll. Trolls dont write heartfilled comments about their fathers passing and their own feelings of inadequacy. The things you write, in comments, in your channel description, they are real, they are serious. So im going to treat you seriously, like the father you lost far to early in your life (im sorry).
This is your wake up call.
Your life, no matter how good or bad you think it is now, will get worse. Your cats will die. Your employment, if you can keep it, will not pay your bills. Your health will get worse, and you will lack the tools to prevent that. You will remain alone, and with every day it will be less bearable. At this moment, there is nothing in your future but pain and misery. And there is only one person who can prevent that, or even just mitigate it.
      You.
You will not be able to do so by belitling people who have done more in their life then you have in yours. You will not be able to do so by following the philosophy of people who believe that unless you are genetically gifted, you might as well give up by default. The only way you can do this is by taking real, actual steps to improve: first yourself, then your situation. You can make the first of these steps tomorrow, just after you wake up. Find a mirror, or any surface that reflects your face, and look yourself in the eyes. Ask yourself: "Is this who I really am?" "Is this who I really want to be?" and "Is this really who I want to be, forever?". Be truthfull with yourself, there is no point lying, you know the answers, you can detect your own bullshit. If you answer: "No." to any of these questions, you have taken the first step. The next one is the hard one: Work.
Aquire the skills and education you need to maintain and improve your life. Job skills and education for your work. Social skills to find friends. When you start to do that, especially if you do it entirely on your own, you will fail most of the time. But you will not fail every time. If you fail every time, continue, your success will come. One victory gives confidence, the knowledge that success is possible. This leads to further victories. Eventually, you will be able to succeed in gaining the certificates that prove your qualifications. Meanwhile your social skills will allow you to make friends. Notice that I specifically mention friends. Friends are the bedrock of social relationships, especially if your family is not available. They also provide a buffer, a parachute for the deep falls that can happen in anyones life. Friends keep you sane. Friends help you succeed. Once you have reached that point of relative stability, you will find that all the other challenges you face, all the other goals you have, start to seem a lot more possible.
I know you may think that this is just some inspirational bullshit written by some idiot on the internet. But I know who you are. I know who you are because I was once just like you. I watched all the sceptics, I had strong opinions about games journalism, and I also had no direction in life. I was almost completely socially isolated for three years. I was studying a subject that gave me no future, playing games and watching videos all day, every day. And it made me miserable. And one day, I did what I described above and, very slowly, my life improved.
Today, I have multiple very close friends, as well as quite a few less close ones. I study a subject that will guarantee me employment, and in a few years time, I will have a leading position in an (admittedly quite small) company. I am a lot more happy then I was back then when I was in that hole, and I am actually cautiously hopefull for the future. If I could dig myself out of this, you can too.
If you still think this is bullshit, or if you hate me for trying to preach to you, here is a simple challenge: Beat me.
Improve your life out of spite for that asshole with the monty python reference in his online persona. Show me that you can have a better, happier life then I do.
No matter what you decide, I wish you good luck.
I hope it is not wasted on you.

Radiology is the only reason I knew I had fractured my foot after a fall(my ankle gave out randomly,) even my parents didn't really think anything was wrong, despite the fact I had literally crawled upstairs crying in pain. I'm so glad that the radiologist was so quick to diagnose me. It was after my initial visit to MedExpress though, but I certainly don't blame them. I'm just glad that I knew at all. Still haven't regained my balance though, I'm starting to think that I just won't, and I'm already accident prone due to motor skill issues.

Fracturing my foot was the second most painful injury I've had in my life, the first being fracturing my nose. I didn't go to the doctor for my nose until a year after the initial injury, so it technically had already healed... just incorrectly.I still deal with chronic pain in my nose, and I already had chronic pain. But, surgery would've just been to complicated and scary for me (I have a lot of disabilities, and idk everything that I may have adverse reactions to. But, Ik my mom has some bad reactions to certain anesthetics.)

Don't give up those small muscles in the foot and ankle need to be rebuilt!
I was starting to almost stagger when walking on uneven ground and was thinking I might have a more ominous diagnosis, but physical therapy for my spine and pre & post knee replacement surgery has made a Huge Difference in my ability to walk without missteps! Look up UA-cam videos on Physical Therapy for balance on ones feet and for foot strength, and flexibility and balance.

I noticed that my tibia was not right against the rest of the bone where the screws were put in like there’s a visible gap and my surgeon was like “that’s nothing it’s fine “ I got a second opinion at a better hospital and sure enough I needed revision surgery because the bone was too far from the other side of it and would have healed wrong it was clicking and scraping across my talus it stuck out so far . It’s doing good now though .

I like the insertion of Ophthalmology. Dr. G.. knows his specialization. I'm waiting for eye surgery as I'm blind at night now (autoimmune development), so Radiology would have been a mistaken career path. Dr. G... whensyagonna become a full-time Comic. You can write, act and I'll say it as I've said elsewhere have the condition 'Funny Bones' . Maybe work part-time, if you're still working, and watch venues fill up as you perform. Cone over the pond to the UK and do the Edinburgh Fringe. Please, if you are, tell us. I've been the Fringe once and it was magical. I even saw a relatively unknown Comedian who went on to great success. Careers are started or upped at the Fringe. Gr8 agents float around. With their lucrative career from developing good acts the probably have learnt to defy Gravity. I love seeing a successful artist and telling kids I knew them before they were famous. Eg if you know of the '80's Pop Group 'Simply Red'. I watched them as just starting out doing pubs and clubs in Manchester. We saw them for free! They went on to be a top band, I don't know if they're known in the States.
I'd say out if all the Pods I've watched of you, 99% make me laugh. The only ones I struggle with are where you're satirising medicine in your country. I don't even know what "Family Medicine" is! Is it the same as our British GPs?
Thanks for the laughter, which as the best medicine in its own right! 👍👍👍
