My Mom was the church organist. In the early 80's the church installed a pipe organ with 4 rows of keys. It no longer is in the church do to operating costs, but there is a church a few towns away in West Hartford, CT that still uses it's original installed pipe organ with a slew of horns/ trumpets in the back of the church. It's amazing to hear to this day. In Hartrod, CT, The Bushnell also still operates a huge pipe organ. I noticed the label in the video on 13:40 mark of the company that help contruct the air chest system is from Hartford, CT. Very cool to see.
I had no idea the Kotzschmar organ existed in Portland. Thank you MaineLife Media and Merrill Auditorium! Do they take requests? I would welcome the opportunity to hear James Kennerly perform Led Zeppelin's "Your Time is Gonna Come".
