Plowing with a Allis Chalmers D19 Tractor and 4 Bottom AC Plow

- Today we went to the Nixon farm outside of Boonville Missouri to watch them plow a food plot for birds. They used a D19 gas Allis Chalmers with a 4 bottom AC plow. Turning good Missouri soil, listening to the sounds or the old tractor and the birds in nature.
Big Tractor Power
Classic Tractor Fever
The Ol Feller is an old pro at plowing. He got out there in that mud and made it happen. People that have never done it, don't understand the skill.
One thing about an Allis Chalmers, it never gives up!👍
Neither does my Farmall 450
@@henryofskalitz2228 I've driven 450's
Making that old girl work! Got the same setup for my food plots as well. Great vid. Thanks for posting.
Reminding of a mini molin I had, single wheeled steel wheels with the long metal cleats and they did pretty fair on wet ground but when it dried up, it shook the teeth out of your mouth... the permanent ones. Not fun what you went through to get back a better flavor of hay. I really miss those days... I wrenched in alaska for fifty then got crippled or I might of learned lower forty eight adverbs. Lots a cussing and sawdust and grease. One good day tho made up for it. I just loved the sound of that tractor doing its job.
Jesse and Tracey,
It was very nice to meet you at the garden tractor plow day. Too wet that day too, but I had fun with the grandsons. Ground at home was ideal today. Disked and planted sunflowers.
As Usual Tracy, Another Interesting video. I Love seeing Old School Machinery at Use!!!!
the older the machine the more i like it hugsssss
Great video love the d19, always wanted one, thank you buddy for sharing this video stay safe and God bless 🚜
Thanks for watching. I think owning a D21 would be cool. Heavenly Father bless you too.
@@FarmAlarm oh I know right I would love to have a d21 and thank you for the blessing
Great video 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
You can see him just working the draft control. Nice
Gotta love our Missouri dirt
Awesome video sir I have a 1963 D19 has and I’ve been looking for another one to buy but I don’t see them for sale here in Ohio very often and when someone does put one up for sale it doesn’t last long
Mighty hard on the spider gears spinning one wheel.
D19 is hard to get on and off for the farmers who love them
I can't imagine how difficult that would have been pulling a plow behind a horse or mule team!
A few pounds less air in the land side tire and a couple of wheel weights would help a lot.
Amen to that . Some tread wouldn't be a sin, either.
this was interesting.
Looks like you need to drop a board to get through so slick spots. I can pull a 4 bottom easy on my 450 but it's designed for a 3 bottom in all conditions.
I’ve heard them d19 gassers were less than amazing on fuel. Good power though
OPEC must have had some input on these gas guzzlers.
I had one and it did just fine on fuel. One guy had three D-19s. 1 did fine and the other 2 sucked fuel. Go figure. A 730 John Deere wouldn't stay with a D-19.
The neighbor across the road had a D-19 gas, it was his "baby" right up until his health forced him to retire. I used to watch him for hours on that thing when I was little...
In better conditions to he D19 can pull 5 bottoms. I have seen a WD45 Diesel pull 4 bottoms.
is your traction boother working that should help with the spinning!!
It works he doesn't know how to set it
@Hunter Jacobs I think your stalking me! Lol
@Hunter Jacobs buy a Nelson muffler yet?
@Hunter Jacobs love a D17. Want to see a sweet D17 go to the Relianceworksllc.com look through the pictures, and there's a beautiful one
@Hunter Jacobs I have a D17 diesel
Always loved the d19 would love to restor one for small usage just realy because its my favorit antuqe tractor id half to have deisel i like diesels we have a relly nice d17 oll restored and painted realy it nooks nicer then brand new looks like a 19 but short hood that is y i love the 19 i like the nose on that loong hood all i like is the looks though i like the sound dad dose what i do run it balls out keep track of temp gadge
Huh,I just bought a D17 with a D19 motor in it. It was originally a diesel so the gas motor did fit nicely.
It could use a couple more days to dry out or touch the left brake to stop the left tire from spinning.
Might be worth a set of chains or a second tractor if you’re gonna force the wet field plowing...can you pull the back bottom off the plow?
Kicking some dirt
Oh, and what every armchair lawn mower said... get this and get that... like they are just hanging in the barn waiting for someone to tell me how to use them/LOL
Amen, sometimes you just get it done with what you have
Starring Jesse, Mark, and Katie..
You should put some wheel weights on it
Hawk screaming at 11:25
😁
Run a subsoiler through it first
Are you going to clear some land and it's bulldozer
What a mess
Way too wet to plow. Too much hardpan. Dry clods will never pulverize. Plowing is a thing of the past anyway. Too much wheel slippage on tractor. Just a mess. These people don’t know what they’re doing.
@Tsunauticus III first class reply man, I salute you.!!!!
Plowing isn’t a thing of the past for people who still have the equipment to do it. Sure, if you’re doing 1000 acres it doesn’t make sense, but for small hobby farmers we still plow from time to time. The guy in the video said it was way too wet to plow, but they got the job done didn’t they? Not every day can be perfect conditions. The wheel slippage was mainly due to lack of tread, again not everyone has perfect equipment.
Is it your land , money, tractor, plow ,time? Doubt it so shut up AHOLE
