I can't understand the mindset of anyone preordering this product at these prices. We've seen the card list, we know there is nothing good to open. Serialized shock lands are not going to prop up the box value.
This set is going to be a bloodbath for stores. Serialized retro shocks are a decent novelty, but where is the organic demand for the other singles to drive box sales?
It’s really annoying that Wizards can experiment as much as they want with the price without suffering the consequences when they overstep. They allow the most critical but fragile element of this whole system to bear the majority of the burden of their choices.
in the near future: - i need force of wheel and vampiric tutor -good news, it's just $5 each - great, i also need these 4 commons -good news, it's just $5 each
If they keep killing prices of cards the msrp need to drop dramatically. Also check out values of cards. Foils and full art have small value over the basic non foil version. So collectors should not be double the cost of set booster(play boosters)
I agree with the general takes but technically other major releases were closer to 300-315k collector boxes, 266k is about a 15% reduction and the end result is you get serial odds being 1% not “less than 1%”. Set is still going to bomb tho
This is gonna be a disaster for WotC. That being said, the set looks really cool with tons of good rares. I will buy it, but only a year+ after release.

I would like the mill commander, the blue board bounce and a bunch of shock lands. Some of those cards are expensive. Is it still not worth buying a box?
@@brendonford3838 all my Ravnica cards were stolen, so honestly there is a lot there that I do want. Which makes me question should I buy now or wait until later?
YES! They're reprint sets, just reprint a bit as a nice treat to players and stores. If they manage it with some nice alt arts and chase cards then the overall impact to the secondary market wont even be bad.
Hey, unrelated to this video, but why on certain products is Tcgplayer market price significantly above eBay and lgs price? For example, CMM collector booster boxes are clearing at $185 on Tcgplayer but $159 elsewhere.
I've been seeing the same thing for years now and can never find a consistent explanation. I think it's just that some dealers prefer working on eBay and some prefer working on TCGplayer. Depending on who has the inventory and what they're pricing it at, one site might end up significantly cheaper than the other.
@@Syne111 I liked Dominaria Remastered, I like the concept of Ravnica Remastered. I'd like them to do Innistrad Block, Theros, Odyssey, Khans, everything. I think the remastered sets rule, Pokemon does it.

Dood!! You shouldn't be expecting ANYTHING to crash once released for any products. So many things wrong with that statement. You make a company and see how well it does when all your buyers expect your prices to crash.
You left out the MAIN reason this selling so poorly when you compared it to DMR and that is DMR itself and what Wiztards did to that product. They printed that set like it was the last one they were ever going to do. Public mindset is they will do the same with this set. People are waiting for the drop if they want to buy, or they are waiting to see if the numbnuts actually learned a lesson to prevent a collapse.

Unless the art is unique, serialized still doesn't make sense.

Bro, thank you for your takes!
Very interesting.
6:03 you forgot to mention OG Commander Legends. It's the most expensive collector box ever
I mentioned it at 5:53. =p

Of interesting note, there are full art shock lands in Murder at Karlov.
WoTC was warned to cut that sh!t out.
I'll sit this one out. 2024 that is.
i would not doubt if the draft box drops around 130 too
Watch a youtuber lastnight open her ambassador box of these. She pulled a serialized card.

4:31 it’s higher than 260,000 boxes it’s more realistically 260,000,000 boxes we are talking .01% numbers not 1%
I heard they printed so many that they're going to have to dump them in orbit! =x

I agree with your timeline. I got dmu draft boxes for $85 a box and got 3 ,pulls were great at that price.
Edit for a coma
By then the LGS and distributors have already subsidized your purchase.
That's a terrible philosophy. Just don't support the product.

It took them what felt like 45 seconds to reveal every card in the list. I’m not going near this set at all, I’d rather buy a CMM box.

Let's be perfectly clear.
DMR and RVR should be as short-printed as TSR if the product is going to be successful.
Low supply = High demand.

hasbro thinks reprinting foils with old art is enough. no its not. pisses me of. not planning to buy any MTG in 2024. ill enjoy threir failures.
It's a shame, because the only lesson they'll learn from their own shitty error was that "people don't want Remastered Sets" and discontinue them.
Good. The less they do the better.
Time Spiral: Remastered is still the best modern set to ever be released. The short print run was perfect.
