- The rumors were true and I couldn't be happier! I hope to make some Faouzia fans out of you with these reactions, because I feel like she's a breath of fresh air in music right now. This was my reaction to Faouzia's first batch of performances from the Chinese singing competition show "Singer", back for its first new season since 2020. She placed second in the first week, and she placed first in the second week, so it looks like she'll be in the competition for a good while :) Let me know what y'all thought in the comment section below. Lovely reaction!! If you saw her rehearsal for the SFTTR performance it was brilliant!
I think for the actual televised performance she was nervous - and starting so high and heavy mixed with nerves it lead to a little hiccup in the middle of a difficult phrase with no space for let up and recovery. She recovered well when she actually had the chance to, but you could see she was visibly upset with herself afterwards, bless her! It was great either way and deserving of #1.
She was back on form again this week with Desert Rose, which ive watched far too many times 😂
And she just did Desert Rose for Song #3.
I've seen her perform that one live! Can't wait to watch that one next :)

Oh ur gonna really love this week's performance, I hope u do a reaction of it , I think why in the 2nd performance she had some cracks because of the key she chose but overall she tried to reach more and moreand taking risks and its only one take.
This competition is based only on voting from people on stage and from internet, there is no jury so it depends if u connected with the audience.

5/24 Faouzia competed her 3rd song: Desert Rose. Every Friday, for 12 weeks, the contestants must sing a song in Chinese Singing competition 'the Singer'.
Her best performance, better than Adam Lambert, which they added this week to the competition.

Check out Boyce Avenue’s cover of “Set Fire to the Rain”, and Dan Vasc’s cover of “Rolling in the Deep”.
She is amazing and so talented, but some of her choices in terms of musicality are a bit off for me. On Set fire to the rain, she was pushing tooo hard to the point she sounds fatigued by the middle-end. And for it being the only song she's performing that night she shouldn't sound that fatigued. She tries to insert too much things all the time, but not in a Mariah Carey type of way. It's more like Im belting hard the entire song but im also running and doing some flips and thrills out of nowhere. Her having to stop and take a breath in the middle of a belt should be a tell sign she needed to calm down.
I get it it's a competition and she wants to win/impress tho. But it honestly just takes away.
Also I disagree with the song difficulty thing. Adele does not push herself, she belts a little bit harder at the end(while still being a comfortable note for most vocalists to belt). The song in general is mostly chill because she starts in a comfortable place vocally.
Having been to a Faouzia concert myself, and having heard her at-home cover of the same song, I’ll admit her voice does sound different in this performance of SFTTR, but if her goal is to make it far in the competition then I trust she knows what she’s doing with her instrument better than I do. I personally favor her performance of “Crazy”, but I think it’s interesting that SFTTR got her 1st place in the second week. There are definitely a few things about this competition that I don’t understand. I’m really looking forward to watching her performance of “Desert Rose” next because it’s one she’s performed in so many different scenarios, so I think she will sound more comfortable.
