Great video,Ive been attempting to start and grow a excavation business since 2017 now I'm still a one man band and own/paid for several pieces of equipment, but yet to get a decent paying job I've used 110% of any profit to purchase more equipment thinking more$ rural TX is tough for survival especially growth.Godbless!
These guys are lucky to be working for you, because you don't take chances with them. I did utility spotting for my dad when I was just a kid. I don't know how he got away with it, union wise. It was a water line on a busy street just laden with cross utilities. I loved doing that job, and took it very seriously. It was only 4 to 5 ft. deep, but there was lots of strange old utilities that weren't marked, or showing on the plans. It ended up being pretty slow going. It was a lot of fun for a kid: tractors, traffic, noise, diesel smoke, etc.
Nice, I did a lift station for a sewer and water treatment facility. At our maximum depth we reached 42 feet. Also dug over the top of a lot of lines as a spotter. I was super excited when I got sent to a company with a hydro excavator. It made finding utilities a lot easier.
This is interesting. I have to dig a 4m trench for a sewer offset junction to go into my property. I see the trench box is fine for straddling the sewer main, but how do you then put your junction pipe in which is close to right angle off the main? The trench box is solid and blocks the way.
Thats not the greatest trench safety. Boxes stacked need at least 2 opposing corners pinned, the ladder is improperly positioned, and id be curious if you had engineering or tab data for the wood on the spreaders and at that depth.
What a complete sh*t show no PPE standing in a bucket rigging off the bucket prime example of a owner/boss that doesn’t care and or know better gonna get someone put in a situation working for this guy
Was this in compliance though? Over 20 foot depth, they would need a Registered Professional Engineer involved. Also, OSHA would cite the man in the bucket cutting the limbs at the beginning of the video as well as not wearing hard hats either would be just another citation.... sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but excavation and trenching is on OSHA's radar, so be prepared. And when you choose to put out a video, make sure a safety person vets it ahead of time! Just my thoughts, being a safety trainer.
@@medolmshaoshasafetyman lots of issues and citations for this video. The 10,000 he just made goes out the door with a willful violation. Once osha is on the job, he had better make sure his 300 logs are up to date, his training logs are up to date, his hazard assessment is up to date, etc...........

Talking about trench safety while there's a guy in an excavator bucket 10 ft in the air with a saw😂😂that's definitely OSHA approved 😂😂😂😂

The dude inside the bucket 😂😂😂
Nice job! You really showed that well.
Glad to see a video again good job Thomas consternation of Texas
More to come!

42 feet that is deep. It's fun when it goes right
That was excellent commentary .that’s how you do it
Great explanation!
Thanks!
Where is the PPE for the workers
I like the three feet above the box
they did a good job stacking the boxes
Thomas excellent videos! Keep them coming, we all love them....
Yoooo these guys are wild. I thought so. Florida was bad but this is something else
What part of Florida? I used to live in the state. Thanks for watching

we would use a 2nd box for the other side
what is up boss man. congrats on the monotization. not sure i told u yet
Hey, thanks! The buggy looks like it's working out well for you. Looks nice after you fixed it up. Good deal.
Why you don't hydro vac first to locate it?
Not my job. I was hired just to dig it and set the boxes. Thanks for watching
Did you ever get the follow up video to this one published? I looked on the site and could not find it.
Jesus get these guys the proper lifting rigging. Omg
need a 4 post bridal for lifting the box makes it a breeze
Excavator as modern as in 1970 😅
No hard hats were harmed in this video
Deep cut for res site damn
The damn pipelayer knows they should have the cleanout at no more than 4 ft. What kind of jackleg pipelaying are they doing?

It's not cheap to comply with OSHA. But being safe is important😎
I would feel like crap if something happened to one of my guys. Safety is important.

@@thomasconstructiontexasthat’s why you have a guy trimming trees in the bucket

Where do you pump the water to?
Either away from the trench or into a catch basin that isn't tied back into what you're working on.
As the comment below said into the catch basin. Thanks for watching.
How much per day to rent those trench boxes?
I was not responsible for the rental of them. I would guess their cost is about 2000 a week for the two.
Jesus!!! That guy ever work with a trench box before??🤦🤦
You call him a skilled operator???
Thats a risky way to find a utility. You need a hydrovac bud.
lots of unsafe practices going on . not osha approved for sure!
Well 10k for safety is better then spending 10k for a funeral for someone ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Lol i see a guy standing in a bucket cutting a brand off the tree, I’m kicking the contractor off my site.
That is funny tho
The monkey bars at the elementary school I went to was higher than that.
They don't know what a vac truck is
Do you know how to do it without a vacuum truck?
god dam i will be millionare in my country 10000 for such a easy thing
Shoemakers
I can tell ther non union. He needs to put iderlers to the rear when digging for more counterweight inexperience for sure. !
You are correct. We are non-union and will stay that way.
Easy money if you got 10,000 for it
This developer that we're doing it for, he pays . Thanks for watching
The osha violations would be 3 times that.
Please wear hardhats at its most minimum. And dont pay undocumented wages for a skill job
Nah I run equipment, they run shovels. I don’t ask them to get in the machine to dig, don’t ask me to get out and dig
