My dad was a baggage handler. They got tools. They can get into any suitcase in about 30 seconds. You can put a padlock on it. They got bolt cutters. Never put anything worth any money in your checked luggage. Period. Ever.
And honestly people shouldn’t travel with loads of jewelry either bc it draws attention to them. Especially if they’re going to a country not as wealthy as the USA.
Maybe it's true, but they're going to find my dirty laundry, shoes, maxi pads, and a book in my checked bag. My valuables are in a Ziploc in my small intestine.

I bought a zipper carry on and a check in bag that has a guard in between the zippers. Yes, you are right about MOST zipper bag but there are still SOME zipper bags that offer the protection.

So they're a hard pass for someone like me who travels full time. But that's the beauty of luggage- there's so many options for everyone :)
