The D's musical abilities are really underrated. Jack has a godlike voice (especially present in their take on "...Baby One More Time" from Kung Fu Panda 4). But with their version of "Wicked Game" by Chris Isaak they will also steal your heart.

Yes that was ben stiller. He's actually in the movie as well as a worker of a music store. He tells them about "the pick of destiny" which starts their journey. 10/10 recommend watching the movie. Its epic!

@@TheLanceUppercut Yeah, in the original run of that record the song included a breakdown that was part of Stairway to Heaven. That's the copy I have from back in the day, and I've heard later pressings don't have that part and have the same version from the video, though I haven't checked if it's true.

I had the pleasure to see them in Paris and it's the best live performance i've ever went. It was a blast, carisma, fun, talent and full rock show. They are awesome. My favourite band!

This was a *massive* hit in Australia (as I'm sure it was worldwide). All over TV and radio back in the day. This song arguably kicked off Jack Black's career as we know it. Was he in movies before this? Sure. But not on the level he has been since. This shit is iconic.

The premise is that they FORGOT what they played for the demon, so this song is just a tribute to that song. That premise plays a role in The Pick of Destiny movie too.
Jack Black is a mf genious and super cool guy , he was doing random popups in New Zealand movie theatres during the new kung fu panda screenings while over here filming the new minecraft movie with Jason Momoa and I wouldnt be surprised if he follows Jason and makes NZ his work base

If you listen to the chord changes, there's some Stairway to Heaven in here, which is a bit of a joke about what the greatest song was that they played. Tenacious D is amazing. Love this entire album. You do have to understand that there's a whole vibe, and ethos behind the band. They don't take themselves seriously, but the music is fantastic.

Their drummer is Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters who plays the Devil. Jack is an amazing singer and Kyle trained at Juliard.
Not their drummer, he only does drums on albums + other studio work, like some rhythm guitar and bass. He doesn't play with them in the band
