I love to imagine someone doing this to their friends but getting every single card wrong and showing a mess of a shuffled deck at the end, but with all the confidence of Ricky
I was like "Ok, you are very good with your hands, actually the best one, it almost looks like magic...". Then he revealed the final part of the trick. And that was magic.
I think he's rated as the best trick card player ever. He has a some skills that even Penn and Teller can't even get close to. Especially the card throwing trick!
Love a trick that just keeps giving, this guy seems like the type to open a fresh deck of cards, shuffle a bit, fan them out and somehow have your social security card.
Ricky also appeared in the Bond film, Tomorrow Never Dies (1997) playing the role as Henry Gupta who was the mastermind behind the little red box that is the Royal Navy's fleet encoder that can render a ship off coarse such as the HMS Devonshire if it has been tinkered with! Staring alongside Pierce Brosnan (007) and Jonathan Pryce as the power mad media mogul Elliot Carver & his wife Paris played by Teri Hatcher to name a few!
Throwing cards as weapons like in his act was going to be his henchman gimmick and they actually filmed scenes where he did this (no joke you can probably find them on UA-cam). They were cut from the film, possibly they were considered just a little too goofy for the movie.
It's called sleight of hand, and he was the best at it. Other comments describe how he did it, but the trick is to make people think he knew when in reality he's moving stuff around

My late Father was in service with " Nosmo King"(W W2) and told me of how he choose his stage name and how the British military utilised his skills in making booby trap bombs, and his membership of the magician's club!My mother noted he never played cards because of his skills but often kept her amused by offering a single cigarette from a champagne glass to the guests that appeared to keep refilling each time it was used!Nicely done, sir.Regards,J.I.M.K Mrs.
The way he blows your mind, then gives you pregnancy-inducing eyes. In all seriousness, his sleight-of-hand is incredible, even hard to catch at 0.25x speed
Ricky,...yeah I knew him, we used to call him card boy back in school, always had a deck of cards in his hands. After Cassy Jane broke his heart though, he just wasn't the same, stayed inside all day doing that one trick to win her back. But after 20 years it was too late, she ended up marrying Poker Joe, and as for Ol'Ricky, some say he still sits at home in the dark, breathing heavily, perfecting a new trick, to win back Cassy Jane.

And doing that same look at the end too 😆
I am literally lying in bed now, at 2am, laughing at your brilliant and creative and perfectly plausible comment.
I laughed my ass off to this thought.
Here, birthday party, everyone was drunk and actually they told me I was pretty good. Amazing party...
Tell your friends you’ll show them a magic trick, do what u said, then say something along the lines of how you magically wasted their time
When i was done watching this, my watch was missing and my underwear were on backwards.
That happened to me once after they put me to sleep at the dentist
*never even picked a card*
yes that’s my card
Lol
I was like "Ok, you are very good with your hands, actually the best one, it almost looks like magic...".
Then he revealed the final part of the trick.
And that was magic.
it's neat how the VHS audio artifacts sound like someone flipping through a deck of cards.
What a master. I could watch him totally enthralled for hours.
This man was an absolute legend… rest in peace Ricky Jay.
That was stunning
A really loud fart while staring at the camera at the end would have been the cherry on top
I think he's rated as the best trick card player ever. He has a some skills that even Penn and Teller can't even get close to. Especially the card throwing trick!
😂😂
He’s one of the best, that’s for sure.
You should see my gf with a handful of credit cards. Also pretty good with making my debit card disappear then reappear an hour later. Mesmerizing.
*had, he sadly passed away a few years ago
@@jctripplesticks gutted. RIP to the man.

Bean nut tuna and so on and so forth
Video not long enough. This is asmr gold.
I love how aggressively he cuts the deck

That and Goldeneye were my favourite bond films

Underrated bond movie
Was also in the 1st season of Deadwood
Bravo and holy shit the whole deck he knew where all five cards and arranged all cards in order nonstop that impressive
You do know this is spliced right?
@@erkkipappers5344 Except it's not.

Wow! Now that whole routine is extremely good, and look how casual he seems to make it look too. What a pro seriously 👏

When your that good you don't even need to ask if it was your card.
Anyone else remeber this dude from the x-files?
Yes...great episode!
There wasn't enough of that pleasant hummingbird's wings at the beginning.
Me encanta el sonido de las cartas, sobre todo cuando se barajan, y se extienden en la mesa. Guuuuuuaaaa buenísimo 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Why is there kolibri bird flying around?
to distract you from the trick

I know this man from Deadwood! This makes more sense why his landed his role in the series! 🤣
This feels like an old TV series
What a magnificent man Ricky Jay was. RIP
Asmr quality is a 10.
Video quality..potato
That look on his face at the end.
"Yes, I'm that fucking good."
For some odd reason, at the end, I picture him saying the famous lines of Tommy from Goddfellas, "Whaddya want from me?"
Why is this so relaxing

Mad skill!!
Is one of the tricks managing 35p resolution from a 360p setting?
Is it weird that my favourite ASMR bit was at the start when he used his pocketknife and tore off the sides of the box??
My fave as well
