A wonderful thing about this improvisation is the fact tha Gert kept the original rhythm for the melody. It's just so beautiful.

Hi David. you say you're not a believer, but it isn't too late to ask Jesus into your heart. Ask Him, with all sincerity, to reveal Himself to you and He absolutely will! I will pray that you ask Him today and not tomorrow because tomorrow is promised to no one. If you die now, without the forgiveness of Jesus Christ (which comes from asking Him to live in your heart, admitting you're a sinner and that you've done wrong things, and believing on Him and that He was murdered for OUR sins (He did not have any of His own). He was a sacrifice for us. God took His own wrath out on His only Son because He loves us so much that He wants us to be with Him in Heaven.
Jesus is the only way into Heaven. The soul, we all have one, is absolute eternal. It will spend eternity in only ONE of TWO places. Hell, aka the grave (Sheol in Hebrew or Hades in Greek), and then ultimately, you will be judged on your works alone and cast into the Lake of Fire, alive, where you will be tormented forever, 24/7, no rest, just pure agony, writhing, pain, suffering, sorrow, and sadness. You will be fully aware of your dealings in this life, you will remember your loved ones, your choices, your friends.... but you will not be 'partying it up' with the devil in that place. No. In fact, satan will be the chief victim of that place. The Lake of Fire was originally created for the devil and his fallen angels... but due to man's rebellion, there is no other place for man outside of Jesus' free gift of salvation, aka, forgiveness. If man isn't saved, he goes to the place of torment.
Please don't go! you don't have to! Accept Jesus into your heart today and ask Him to forgive you of all of your sins (confess them to Him). Confessing helps you (He already knows them) realize what you're doing and makes us more aware of them.
OK, I'll leave you to your thoughts. Just remember, forever will be a very very long time thinking about all your bad choices and decisions and knowing you could have asked Him to reveal Himself to you. Ask Him to help your unbelief!

A powerful performance of a powerful hymn! Balm for the soul!
The little whistles from the opening/closing valves add a lot of warmth. Not sure what the technical term for that is but I like it.
The chiff of the flutes are masterfully used to evoke a quiet snare drum-like quality - reminiscent of an en-masse victory march !

Thank you for sharing your gift with us all over the world. This is such a beautiful hymn and this video gives it it's full glory and majesty. I love watching you in tribute to my elder brother who past prematurely after traveling partially around the world trying to get permission to play special organs, having some credentials from the US National Cathedral and other US venues. (and you look a little like him too) Peace and Health to you and your family.
